ELECTRONIC pioneers The Human League will tour Australia in December.

The British band’s 1981 release Dare is considered one of the landmark albums in pop music, proudly featuring no ‘real’ instruments, just keyboards and sequencers.

The Human League’s hits include the global No. 1 Don’t You Want Me, as well as Love Action, (Keep Feeling) Fascination, Mirror Man, The Sound of the Crowd, Human, Open Your Heart, Being Boiled, The Lebanon, Louise, Tell Me When and Life On Your Own.

Frontman Phil Oakey also scored a solo hit with Together in Electric Dreams, which the band include in their live set.

The Human League will play Perth Arena on December 9, Thebarton There Adelaide on December 11, Palais Theatre Melbourne December 13, State Theatre Sydney December 15 and The Star Theatre, Gold Coast on December 16.

Australian band Pseudo Echo will open for the Human League on all the shows except Perth.

The Perth show will see the Human League join the already announced Culture Club tour, before headlining their own Australian shows.

The Human League were last in Australia in 2009, playing the V Festival alongside The Killers, Snow Patrol, Madness and M83.

They also performed side shows where Dare was played in full.

Tickets for the Australian shows go on sale August 11.
