Joselito "José" Canó Soriano (born March 7, 1962 in Boca de Soco, Dominican Republic) is a former pitcher who briefly pitched in Major League Baseball for the Houston Astros in 1989.
Canó pitched six games with the Houston Astros and was the only major league pitcher to pitch a complete game in his final major league appearance (which was his only win).
Canó played on the Uni-President Lions from 1992 to 1994 and the Wei Chuan Dragons from 1998 to 1999 in Taiwan.
His son, Robinson Canó, whom he named after Jackie Robinson, currently is the second baseman for the Seattle Mariners. Canó pitched to both his son and to David Ortiz in the 2011 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby, won by Cano. He also pitched to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig in the 2014 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby.
José Cano López (23 April 1956 – 25 November 2000), commonly known as Canito, was a Spanish footballer who played during the 1970s and 1980s.
During his professional career, amongst others, the defensive midfielder represented both major teams in Barcelona, Español and FC Barcelona, albeit with little impact at the latter.
Born in Llavorsí, Lleida, Catalonia, Canito began playing professionally with RCD Español. After serving two loans, at UE Lleida and Cádiz CF, he moved permanently to the first team.
After solid displays in the 1978–79 season, Canito signed with Español's neighbours FC Barcelona. He helped the club win the Copa del Rey in his second year, but was also ostracized following an incident involving main team Español: as the club was fighting to avoid relegation from La Liga against Hércules CF, he was warming up in the sidelines for Barcelona, and celebrated when the Pericos netted the goal which led to salvation, to the fury of the crowd at the Camp Nou.
