Ismail (Arabic: إسماعيل, ʼIsmāʻīl) is an Arabic given name. It corresponds to the English name Ishmael.
The literal translation of the name Ismail is heard by Allah or God has heard and it refers to the yearning of Ibrahim and his wife, Sarah, to have a child. Ismail's mother, Hagar was also a wife of the prophet Abraham. Muhammad, a descendant of Ismail who was sent the Qur'an by Allah, became the final messenger, and so the name Ismail is often interpreted to mean the fulfillment of a divine promise resulting from prayer being heard.
Sam Esmail (born September 17, 1977) is an Egyptian-American writer, director, and producer. He is the creator and head writer of the TV show Mr. Robot.
Esmail was born in Hoboken, New Jersey. He is of Egyptian descent. While attending New York University, he worked in its computer lab before being put on academic probation for an incident there. After graduating from that college's Tisch School of the Arts, he went on to a Master of Fine Arts degree from the AFI Conservatory.
In 2008, Esmail's first feature film screenplay, Sequels, Remakes & Adaptations, landed on the Black List, a yearly survey of over 600 production companies and film executives of the "most liked" motion picture screenplays not yet produced. In 2014, his feature length directorial debut, Comet was released by IFC.
He is the creator, executive producer and head writer of the cyberpunk–thriller television series Mr. Robot, which premiered on USA Network on June 24, 2015. Esmail originally envisioned the project as a feature film.

Christian Michael Leonard Slater (born August 18, 1969) is an American actor. He made his film debut with a leading role in the 1985 film The Legend of Billie Jean. He played a monk's apprentice alongside Sean Connery in The Name of the Rose before gaining wider recognition for his breakthrough role in the cult film Heathers.
In the 1990s, Slater starred in many big budget films, including Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, FernGully: The Last Rainforest, Broken Arrow, and Hard Rain. He was also featured in the cult film True Romance. Slater was married to Ryan Haddon between 2000 and 2005, and they had two children together. Slater has had widely publicized brushes with the law, including being sentenced to three months in jail for assault in 1997.

The New Yorker debuted on February 21, 1925. It was founded by Harold Ross and his wife, Jane Grant, a New York Times reporter. Ross wanted to create a sophisticated humor magazine that would be different from perceivably "corny" humor publications such as Judge, where he had worked, or Life. Ross partnered with entrepreneur Raoul H. Fleischmann (who founded the General Baking Company) to establish the F-R Publishing Company and established the magazine's first offices at 25 West 45th Street in Manhattan. Ross edited the magazine until his death in 1951. During the early, occasionally precarious years of its existence, the magazine prided itself on its cosmopolitan sophistication. Ross famously declared in a 1925 prospectus for the magazine: "It has announced that it is not edited for the old lady in Dubuque."

Plot: An emotionally broken woman, Kathy, suddenly finds herself homeless after her house is wrongly repossessed and auctioned.
