Consonant Classification- helps describe where int he mouth difference consonants are formed and how the are made- there are three different aspects that are used to help classify sounds:
- Place of Articulation: area (larynx or mouth) of articulators (lips, tongue, teeth) to create the speech sound
-Manner of Articulation: how the sound is made using different places of articulation (how the articulators are moved to form sound & which articulators are used)
Voicing: voiced (vocal folds are close together and vibrate) or voiceless (vocal folds are wide apart and ...

In this video you can see and hear me pronounce all the symbols of the official IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) chart. (I omit the epiglottal consonants.)
First I present the pulmonic consonants, then the other symbols, the non-pulmonic consonants, the vowels, the diacritics and the suprasegmentals and tones.
Please note that I am not a professional linguist.

Velars are consonants articulated with the back part of the tongue the dorsum against the soft palate, the back part of the roof of the mouth known also as the velum
Since the velar region of the roof of the mouth is relatively extensive and the movements of the dorsum are not very precise, velars easily undergo assimilation, shifting their articulation back or to the front depending on the quality of adjacent vowelscitation needed They often become automatically fronted, that is partly or completely palatal before a following front vowel, and retracted, that is partly or completely uvular before back vowels
Palatalised velars like English /k/ in keen or cube are sometimes referred to as palatovelarscitation neededby whom Many languages also have labialized velars, such as ...
