Cara Delevingne

Cara Jocelyn Delevingne (/ˈkɑːrə dɛləˈviːn/ KAH-rə del-ə-veen; born 12 August 1992) is an English fashion model and actress. She signed with Storm Model Management after leaving school in 2009. Delevingne won the "Model of the Year" award at the British Fashion Awards in 2012 and 2014 and has appeared in shows for houses including Burberry, Mulberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Jason Wu. She started her acting career with a minor role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina. Delevingne played Margo Roth Spiegelman in the romantic mystery film Paper Towns (2015) and will co-star as Enchantress in the superhero film Suicide Squad (2016).

Early life

Delevingne was born in Hammersmith, London, the daughter of Pandora Anne Delevingne (née Stevens) and property developer Charles Hamar Delevingne and grew up in Belgravia, London, one of the wealthiest districts in the world.

Delevingne has two older sisters, Chloe and model Poppy Delevingne. Her godfather is Condé Nast executive Nicholas Coleridge and her godmother is actress Joan Collins. Delevingne's maternal grandfather was publishing executive and English Heritage chairman Sir Jocelyn Stevens, the nephew of magazine publisher Sir Edward George Warris Hulton and the grandson of newspaper proprietor Sir Edward Hulton, 1st Baronet. Her maternal grandmother Janie Sheffield was lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret. Her paternal great-grandfather was the Canadian-born British politician Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood. Through one of her maternal great-great-grandfathers, Sir Lionel Lawson Faudel-Phillips, 3rd Baronet, Delevingne descends from the Anglo-Jewish Faudel-Phillips baronets; two of her ancestors on that line served as Lord Mayor of London.

Dane DeHaan

Dane William DeHaan (/dᵻˈhɑːn/ də-HAHN; born February 6, 1986) is an American actor. He is known for playing Jesse on the HBO series In Treatment, and for his roles in the films Chronicle (2012), The Place Beyond the Pines (2013), Kill Your Darlings (2013), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and Life (2015).

Early life

DeHaan was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His father, Jeff, is a computer programmer, and his mother, Cynthia Boscia, is an executive at Knoll Furniture. He has an older sister, Meghann, and had what the New York Times Magazine has described as a "very normal, super-supportive childhood". He attended Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, for three years and appeared in community theater. He switched to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for his senior year of high school, where he was "around artists for the first time." He continued at UNCSA for undergraduate studies, graduating in 2008.

He has Dutch, German, Italian, English, and smaller amounts of Welsh and Scots-Irish, ancestry. His surname is Dutch ("De Haan" or "de Haan" means "The Rooster" in Dutch).

Luc Besson

Luc Besson (French pronunciation: ​[lyk bɛsɔ̃]; born 18 March 1959) is a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is known for directing and producing thrillers and action films that are visually rich. Critics cite Besson as a pivotal figure in the Cinéma du look movement, a specific, highly visual style produced from the 1980s into the early 1990s. Subway (1985), The Big Blue (1988) and Nikita (1990) are all considered to be of this stylistic school. Besson had been nominated for Best Director and Best Picture César Awards for his films Léon: The Professional and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. He won Best Director and Best French Director for his sci-fi action film The Fifth Element (1997). His sci-fi thriller film Lucy (2014) is France's biggest export success.

In 1980, he founded his own production company, called Les Films du Loup, and later Les Films du Dauphin. This was superseded in 2000 by his co-founding EuropaCorp film company with his longtime collaborator, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam. Besson has been involved with filmmaking for more than 50 films, spanning 26 years, as writer, director, and/or producer. He is also being declared the John Hughes of action films because his screen writing skills are more famous than his directing.

Valérian and Laureline

Valérian and Laureline (French: Valérian et Laureline), also known as Valérian: Spatio-Temporal Agent (French: Valérian, agent spatio-temporel) or just Valérian, is a French science fiction comics series, created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. First published in Pilote magazine in 1967, the final installment was published in 2010. All of the Valérian stories have been collected in graphic novel album format, comprising some twenty-one volumes plus a short story collection and an encyclopaedia. Valérian is one of the top five biggest selling Franco-Belgian comics titles of its publisher, Dargaud.

The series focuses on the adventures of the dark-haired Valérian, a spatio-temporal agent, and his redheaded female colleague, Laureline, as they travel the universe through space and time. Valérian is a classical hero, kind-hearted, strong and brave who follows the orders of his superiors even if he feels, deep down, that it is the wrong thing to do. On the other hand, his partner Laureline combines her superior intelligence, determination and independence with sex-appeal, making her one of science fiction's most notable heroines. Influenced by classic literary science fiction, the series mixes space opera with time travel plots. Christin's scripts are noted for their humour, complexity and strongly humanist and left-wing liberal political ideas while Mézières' art is characterised by its vivid depictions of the alien worlds and species Valérian and Laureline encounter on their adventures. The series was a landmark in European comics and pop culture, and influenced other media as well – traces of its concepts, storylines and designs can be found on sci-fi films such as Star Wars, The Fifth Element, and Avatar.
