Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball will not gain a point, while the opposite player will.
Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including wheelchair users. The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis". It had close connections both to various field ("lawn") games such as croquet and bowls as well as to the older racket sport of real tennis. During most of the 19th-century in fact, the term "tennis" referred to real tennis, not lawn tennis: for example, in Disraeli's novel Sybil (1845), Lord Eugene De Vere announces that he will "go down to Hampton Court and play tennis."
The terms "online" and "offline" have specific meanings in regard to computer technology and telecommunications in which "online" indicates a state of connectivity, while "offline" indicates a disconnected state. Common vernacular extended from their computing and telecommunication meanings and refers specifically to an Internet connection. Lastly, in the area of human interaction and conversation, discussions taking place during a business meeting are "online", while issues that do not concern all participants of the meeting should be "taken offline" — continued outside of the meeting.
In computer technology and telecommunication, online and offline are defined by Federal Standard 1037C. They are states or conditions of a "device or equipment" or of a "functional unit". To be considered online, one of the following may apply to a system: it is under the direct control of another device; it is under the direct control of the system with which it is associated; or it is available for immediate use on demand by the system without human intervention.
Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, rotoscoping, compositing and animation. It also functions as a very basic non-linear editor, audio editor and media transcoder.
Adobe After Effects is software primarily used for creating motion graphics and visual effects. It allows users to animate, edit, and compose media in 2D or 3D space with many different built-in tools and third party plug-ins which can be downloaded from the Internet depending on what type of plug in the user is looking for. It also provides individual attention to variables like parallax and also user adjustable angles of observation.
Adobe After Effects is a layer-oriented program. Each individual media object like video clips, still images, audio clips, etc. runs on its own. In contrast, other Non-Linear Editing Systems use a system where individual media objects can occupy the same track as long as they do not overlap at the same time. This track-oriented system is more suitable for editing and can keep project files more simple. The layer oriented system that Adobe After Effects has is suitable for extensive video effects work and also key framing. Other compositing packages, especially the ones that employ tree or node workflows, such as Nuke and Fusion, are better suited to managing complex interconnected data flow within a composite. Adobe After Effects is capable of countering the problem somewhat by selectively hiding layers or by grouping them into pre-compositions.
The Rift is a virtual reality head-mounted display developed by Oculus VR. It was initially proposed in a Kickstarter campaign, during which Oculus VR (at the time an independent company) raised US$2.5 million for the development of the product.
The Rift is scheduled for release on March 28, 2016, making it one of the first consumer-targeted virtual reality headsets. It has a resolution of 1080×1200 per eye, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a wide field of view. It has integrated headphones which provide a 3D audio effect. The Rift has rotational and positional tracking. The positional tracking is performed by a USB stationary IR sensor, which normally sits on the user's desk, allowing for using the Rift while sitting, standing, or walking around the same room.
The Rift has gone through various prototype versions in the years since the Kickstarter campaign, around 5 of which were demonstrated to the public. Two of these prototypes were made available for purchase as 'development kits', DK1 in late 2012 and DK2 in mid 2014, to give developers a chance to develop content in time for the Rift's release. However, both were also purchased by a large number of enthusiasts who wished to get an early preview of the technology.
Grand Theft Auto Online is a persistent, open world online multiplayer video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 1 October 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was released on 18 November 2014 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a Microsoft Windows version on 14 April 2015. The game is the online multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas (based on Southern California), Grand Theft Auto Online allows up to 30 players to explore the open world and engage in cooperative or competitive game matches. The open world design lets players freely roam San Andreas, which includes open countryside and the fictional city of Los Santos (based on Los Angeles).
Developed in tandem with the single-player mode, Grand Theft Auto Online was conceived as a separate experience, to be played in a continually evolving world. At release, it received generally positive reviews, with praise particularly directed at the scope and open-ended gameplay. Critics were polarised by the widespread technical issues at launch, which resulted in the inability to play missions, and loss of character data. It won divided year-end accolades, ranging from Biggest Disappointment to Best Multiplayer, from several gaming publications. The game also receives frequent updates that further expand on the game, which are available for free.
http://www.top-tennis-training.com/ How To Reduce Errors In Tennis - Tennis Lessons Online. In this video LTA Senior Performance and RPT National Professional coach Simon Konov of Top Tennis Training will break down how to reduce your errors in tennis. When we think about it in the simplest way, there are only two obstacles on the tennis court: 1. The Net 2. Hitting Long or Wide If we take the net out of the equation by simple increasing our net clearance on shots, we will already reduce our errors dramatically in both training and matches. If we then increase our topspin levels to make sure our ball dips before the lines we then decrease our error rates even more. When you join these two things together, you will see some great results. This is exactly what consistent players like Raf...

Serve and volley has died out a bit on tour due to the surfaces playing slower and the balls being bigger to help encourage longer baseline rallies. However at club level it is still one of the most effective ways to win points in both singles and doubles. Here is a list of things to work on when you try to serve and volley - 1. Toss the ball on serve more inside the baseline to encourage good weight transfer forwards 2. Fully commit to coming to net prior to the serve 3. Time the split step so that you land when the opponent makes contact with the return...

A match between Federer (me) and Roddick, you will notice a problem when my opponent volleys where he is able to intentionally hit the net cord with his volleys regularly which seems to stun or delay the player sometimes in getting to the ball.
In this tennis tip OTI Instructor Nadim Naser shows you how to get better spacing to the ball on your topspin groundstrokes. A lot of players get too close to the ball especially when the ball comes right at them and as a result they can't hit with power.
Balance is really important for your shots especially for consistency! Good balance has a lot to do with how you setup your feet before you hit the ball. This has a big influence on your distance to the ball and also your weight transfer. In this new video OTI Instructor Nadim Naser shows you one key element for more balance on your forehand shots. This will help you with weight transfer as well and should result in more consistency and power!
Do you find that your forehand is not as smooth as you want it be? You can’t generate as much power on it as you want and it often feels like you are contacting the ball late, which of course results in your arm getting really tight? If this sounds like your forehand, then OTI Instructor Nadim Naser gives you two specific tips to develop a more compact and powerful forehand in this video tip!

http://www.Top-Tennis-Training.com/ 3 Steps To Hitting A Perfect Tennis Shot - Tennis Lessons Online. In this video lesson, LTA Senior Performance and RPT National Professional coach Simon Konov of Top Tennis Training will help you to hit the ball much cleaner in your tennis. Hitting the ball in the middle of the stringbed (the sweetspot) is the best way to generate clean strokes that generate effortless power. Hitting the ball on the edge of the stringbed or the frame itself is one of the worst feelings in tennis and if done over and over again can lead to injuries due to the vibrations that occur when you make contact off centre. Follow these three steps to hit the ball much cleaner: 1. Early preparation. Track the ball off your opponents racket and start your preparation as early as...

The Guardian approached YLLW to direct, design and animate ‘Wimbledon in numbers’ for use online during the Wimbledon tennis Championships 2015. Here are a few facts and figures to ponder while you're watching the last few matches at Wimbledon. How short do they cut the grass at Wimbledon? How accurate is Hawkeye's tracking technology? How many umbrellas are sold at Wimbledon? Find out the answers to all these questions and more. This was a great creative piece to work on, I was tasked with creating several animations that could be used individually across social media platforms but also linked together to form one longer cohesive story. //Credits Client • TheGuardian Producer • Ryan Baxter Direction, Illustration & Animation • Chris Lloyd Sound Design • Pascal Wyse
Spot for "Shake The World" an online film festival. http://www.c-my-k.com/
No winner guaranteed in this split-screen stop-motion animated tennis match. This short is a few years old already. I made it as a technical experiment, with a lot of help from friends, wile I was working as an animator on a television series at www.pedri.com. It has been on Youtube as part of the Netherlands Film Festival Online, but this version is of significantly better quality and how I like show it, that also helps to enjoy the soundtrack, composed by the wonderfully gifted Michiel Meeuws, a lot better.

- 2009 - Short Film - 90 seconds - Comedy This short film was created for the inaugural 'Changing Ends' (Australian Open) film festival. The directive was to shoot a film of no longer than 90 seconds around the theme of tennis. I have a fondness for this film as though it was produced extremely fast and cheap, it was by far the most popular entry in the online competition with over 4800 views on the competition's channel. It finished as a prize winning finalist but sadly missed out on the big cheque. Available on the media page.
Pulse were tasked by Emirates to create a new on-stand game experience for their Fanzone area at the 2013 ATP finals in London. The game needed to highlight Emirates’ network of destinations, whilst remaining fun and tennis-themed. A social media element was to be included for the extended reach of the event online. The concept we developed was an interactive piece called the “Emirates World Tour Challenge”, in which an Emirates route map was set on the floor of a small tennis court. Visitors had to strike the different destinations with a tennis racquet when they lit up, scoring points on the speed and number of destinations achieved. When each destination was struck, a TV wall behind the court displayed a high-resolution image of the destination and located it on a route map. Before t...
