A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
A raga or raag (literally "color, hue" but also "beauty, melody"; also spelled raaga, ragam; pronounced rāga, or rāgam or "raag") is one of the melodic modes used in Indian classical music.
A raga uses a series of five to nine musical notes upon which a melody is constructed. However, the way the notes are approached and rendered in musical phrases and the mood they convey are more important in defining a raga than the notes themselves. In the Indian musical tradition, rāgas are associated with different times of the day, or with seasons. Indian classical music is always set in a rāga. Non-classical music such as popular Indian film songs and ghazals sometimes use rāgas in their compositions.
Joep Bor of the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music defined Raga as "tonal framework for composition and improvisation."Nazir Jairazbhoy, chairman of UCLA's department of ethnomusicology, characterized ragas as separated by scale, line of ascent and descent, transilience, emphasized notes and register, and intonation and ornaments.Pandit Jasraj describes the meaning of Raga as "love".
Swamiji is a 2012 laser documentary directed and produced by Manick Sorcar. Based on the life story of Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902), it is the first laser documentary made on an individual and the first full-length laser documentary ever to be shown in a performing arts center.
The documentary was produced on a budget of $125,000, utilizing eight color lasers, LED lights, smoke and haze machines, video projectors, a surround sound system, donated voice talent, song, animation modeling, and animation drawn by Manick Sorcar. The laser show was preceded by a Sanskrit prayer to the Holy Trio (Paramhansa Ramakrishna, Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda), and ‘Vandana’, based on a composition of Swami Vivekananda in Bengali. The prayer and Vandana were live performances in combination with laser animation and atmospheric effects. In total, combined with the 56 minute laser documentary, the show had a running time of 75 minutes.
Critics, Ramakrishna Missions and Vedanta Societies around the world praised the documentary for its accurate depiction of Swami Vivekananda’s life. The production was shown in dozens of cities in India and the United States.
Sagara may refer to:
Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and with vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, and there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). In its most general form, the activities describing music as an art form include the production of works of music (songs, tunes, symphonies, and so on), the criticism of music, the study of the history of music, and the aesthetic examination of music. Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."

Raga Puriya Kalyan is a melody that is traditionally played at the dusk (known as "sandhi-prakash"). It is a combination of two Ragas - Puriya and Yaman. Its mood is somber, meditative, contemplative, devotional and like many Ragas played at dusk, it makes one contemplate about life. Here is a blog link explaining the philosophy behind Indian Ragas performed at dusk - http://www.bansuriflute.com/2012/02/03/meditative-dusk/ This is a recording of a live concert performed at Los Altos Public Library. See the rain dancing on the snow
It writes the names of all the people going to their graves
Walking one by one into the sun, into the sun
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.....
Traffic jam in the middle of the day
Headlights are on, I wonder where they're going
I stop to ask but no one wants to say
I want to know, I want to know
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.....
Nothing is fixed and the wind is sweeping
Sweeping all the bodies that litter the Earth
See the rain dancing on the snow
It writes the names of all the children floating from their graves
Crawling one by one out from the sun, out from the sun
