A power inverter, or inverter, is an electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
The input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry. The inverter does not produce any power; the power is provided by the DC source.
A power inverter can be entirely electronic or may be a combination of mechanical effects (such as a rotary apparatus) and electronic circuitry. Static inverters do not use moving parts in the conversion process.
A typical power inverter device or circuit requires a relatively stable DC power source capable of supplying enough current for the intended power demands of the system. The input voltage depends on the design and purpose of the inverter. Examples include:
• Link of our Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/DIY.Experiments.YouTube • Text of the video : Hi everyone, today we’ll show you how to make an inverter! An inverter provides power to objects working on alternating current with only a 12 V battery. First we’ll test our inverter on different devices then we’ll show you how to create yours. Let’s start with a simple test. We plug the terminals on the 12 V battery and then we switch on the inverter. The bulb, which normally works on AC with 230V and consumes 25 Watt, is now on as if it was plugged in the power outlet! Instead of using high consumption light bulbs, we can use economic light bulbs, here is a test with 36W, and as you see it works perfectly. Here is another test with our inverter; we will recharge at the same time an iPo...
What size inverter should I buy? (and Formula to convert Amps to Watts) We carry many different sizes, and several brands of power inverters. See our Inverters Page for specifications on each of our models. Short Answer: The size you choose depends on the watts (or amps) of what you want to run (find the power consumption by referring to the specification plate on the appliance or tool). We recommend you buy a larger model than you think you'll need (at least 10% to 20% more than your largest load).
Eliminator 1000W pure sine wave running half my house, about 500W load for 2 hours, batteries came back up to 12.6 volts after I stoped the test, the Eliminator inverter held up well, had a oscilloscope running while i was testing and the sine wave was good.

See full blog post here - http://www.loveyourrv.com/1000w-pure-sine-wave-inverter/ Buy similar Npower Inverter - http://amzn.to/2dYvOoe (Amazon Affiliate Link) This is an update video to my original 1000 watt inverter install video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hnnusgSJMc In this updated version I go into much more depth regarding how I installed the inverter, why I installed it the way I did, why I picked a 1000 watts pure sine wave model and some other possible RV inverter hookup options. Inside the rig, I'll give you a look at how we use it with a single AC outlet when out boondocking and another optional setup to use all the RVs AC outlets. Many people were confused by my installation portrayed in the first video and I have fielded many questions. Hopefully, this video will ...
