Raw footage from my BodyCam of arrest by FBI in El Paso Tx on 4-20-17 at about 11 A.M. (Mountain). This took place at the FBI Bldg in El Paso. This footage only covers from initial contact by Agents until shortly after the arrest when I was sat on the ground. The full video runs almost two hours-most of which I was in cuffs on the ground without shade or water in temps at/about 100 degrees F.

In 1659, Fray Garcia de San Francisco, established Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission of El Paso del Norte. Raw footage from my BodyCam of arrest by FBI in El Paso Tx on 4-20-17 at about 11 A.M. (Mountain). This took place at the FBI Bldg in El Paso. This footage only covers from initial contact by Agents until shortly after the arrest when I was sat on the ground. The full video runs almost two hours-most of which I was in cuffs on the ground without shade or water in temps at/about 100 degrees F.

That is the question to be answered by a major federal lawsuit filed January 26, 2011 by the Institute for Justice and four El Paso mobile food vendors. The lawsuit launches a National Street Vending Initiative, a nationwide litigation and activism effort to vindicate the right of street vendors to earn an honest living.
Practiced since ancient times, street vending is more popular than ever. The Economist magazine predicted that in 2011 "some of the best food Americans eat may come from a food truck." Vendors are the darlings of many food critics, and they even have their own reality show on the Food Network.
But El Paso, Texas, has recently made it illegal for mobile food vendors to operate within 1,000-feet of any restaurant, convenience store, or grocer. The city even prohibits vendors from parking to await customers, which forces vendors to constantly drive around town until a customer successfully flags them down--and then be on the move again as soon as the customer walks away.
Thus, while people across the country embrace mobile vendors for the vitality and creativity they bring to a local restaurant scene, El Paso has decided to threaten vendors with thousands of dollars in fines and effectively run them out of town. El Paso's No-Vending Zone scheme is in place for one reason: to protect brick-and-mortar restaurants from honest competition. But economic protectionism is not a valid use of government power.
That is why four mobile venders teamed up with the Institute for Justice to file a federal lawsuit in the Western District of Texas, El Paso Division, against the city of El Paso challenging the constitutionality of its economic protectionism and fighting for their right to keep vending on the streets of El Paso.

Welcome to the sixth part of my second flying marathon! Time to head home again. I opted to choose Finnair via Helsinki. Why flying from Budapest to Brussels via Riga and Helsinki, well it will become very clear in my next flying marathon! Today's flight was operated by NORRA, which was just created a few days prior. The ATR 72 was also a new type for me.
Total score:71%
It was nice to try fly NORRA for the first time. With the exception of the inefficient check in in Riga all went without troubles. From the very open layouts in Riga and Helsinki to the nice BOB! However next time I will avoid row 1 on the ATR like a plague as it was very uncomfortable. The lounge in Riga was nice as well :)

Welcome to the seventh and final part of my second flying marathon! My last leg home would be operated by NORRA as well! A few weeks before departure I got an offer to upgrade myself for a bargain price! Given the length of the flight and layover in Helsinki I did not hesitate to do so! Great way to end a few days in the air.

I was happy to sample Finnair's Business class product. I quite enjoyed the product starting in the cozy lounge! However a few extra food options would have been nice. Onboard catering was simple but great, seats where comfortable and crew was friendly! What more can you want :)

The opposite of night is day (or "daytime" to distinguish it from "day" as used for a 24-hour period). The start and end times of night vary based on factors such as season, latitude, longitude and timezone.
At any given time, one side of the planet Earth is bathed in light from the Sun (the daytime) and the other side of the Earth is in the shadow caused by the Earth blocking the light of the sun. This shadow is what we call the darkness of night.

Timing is everything. Late in the fourth quarter as UTEP trailed SMU, 21-17, with the Miners backed up inside their own 5-yard line, Fox Sports Southwest chose to air a pre-taped segment that featured UTEP defensive coordinator Andre Patterson criticizing El Paso for not supporting Mike Price...as SMU stripped the football from the Miners in the end zone and fell on it for the game-sealing touchdown. Forget that Patterson is right -- few recognize what Price has accomplished in his eight seasons in a program with as close to zero reputation as there is in college football. But the timing of this quote is as bad as it could get.

The MENTE Project came about from a history, teaching, and a need. The founding organizer of the Migrant Education Network for Tradition in Excellence, Dr. Reynaldo Reyes, saw this as an opportunity to honor his mother’s and grandfather’s history as workers in agriculture, on farms, and having participated in migrant education programs. And honoring them was a way to honor the lives and sacrifices of the many other migrant and farmworker families and communities that have helped build and maintain our farming and food industry.

My couchsurfing host and his girlfriend take me around El Paso. We go to open markets and walk around downtown. I am on a trip that goes from Los Cabos, Mexico to Sao Paulo, Brazil. I will be sharing travel tips and recommendations. I will travel by bus, hitching rides, and staying with couchsurfers. Mainly I will make new friends, visit old friends and just have a great time. Rosa's Cantina was the inspiration for one of the most famous Western songs ever, El Paso, by Marty Robbins. It's easy to see why when you pull up to the small, single roomed building. Across the road you see the badlands of New Mexico, and you can almost envision the tragic gunfight that Robbins sings about.
