Robert David "Dave" Grusin (born June 26, 1934) is an American composer, arranger and pianist. Grusin has composed many scores for feature films and television, and has won numerous awards for his soundtrack and record work, including an Academy Award and 10 Grammys. He has had a prolific recording career as an artist, arranger, producer and executive producer.
Born in Littleton, Colorado, he studied music at the University of Colorado at Boulder and was awarded his bachelor's degree in 1956. He produced his first single, "Subways are for Sleeping", in 1962 and his first film score was for Divorce American Style (1967). Other scores followed including Winning (1969), The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973), The Midnight Man (1974) and Three Days of the Condor in 1975.
In the late 1970s, he formed GRP records along with his business partner, Larry Rosen, and began to create some of the first commercial digital recordings. Grusin was also at the forefront of soundtrack albums. He was the composer for Mike Nichols' Oscar-winning film, The Graduate. Later scores included On Golden Pond (1981), Tootsie (1982) and The Goonies (1985).
Lee Mack Ritenour (born January 11, 1952) is an American jazz guitarist, session musician, and composer. Ritenour has contributed to over 3000 sessions, and has charted over 30 contemporary jazz hits since 1976.
Ritenour was born January 11, 1952 in Los Angeles. He has maintained a delicate balance between the individual creative vision and the group dynamic, since the beginning of his career. Lee played his first session when he was 16 with the Mamas & the Papas and given the moniker, "Captain Fingers", because of his manual dexterity on the guitar. Ritenour was a sought-after session guitarist by the mid-1970s, and won Guitar Player magazine's Best Studio Guitarist twice in the 1970s. He is noted for playing his red Gibson ES-335 and his Gibson L5 guitars. Since his early recordings in the 1970s, Lee has held numerous #1 spots on guitar polls, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian SJ Awards, and a prestigious "Alumnus of the Year" Award from the University of Southern California. He has recorded more than 40 albums that have yielded 35 chart songs. As a young guitarist, he put his combination of diverse musical styles and brilliant technical chops to work on more than 3,000 sessions with a broad spectrum of artists, and was a founding member of Fourplay, which is considered the most successful group in contemporary jazz. His prolific career includes a Grammy Award for the collaborative work Harlequin (1985), and 19 Grammy nominations. Ritenour also holds the distinction of having two of the promotional videos for his songs "Is It You" and "Mr. Briefcase" being played during MTV's first day. Ritenour has been at the top of many guitar polls throughout the world.

The Record Plant was a series of three famous recording studios which were founded by Gary Kellgren and Chris Stone, beginning in New York City in 1968. The next year, Kellgren and Stone opened a second studio in Los Angeles. In 1972, the company expanded again with a third location in Sausalito, California. Kellgren died in 1977, and in the 1980s, the New York and Sausalito studios ended up under different ownership and management. The New York studio closed in 1987 and the Sausalito studio closed in 2008. The Los Angeles studio continues in business as the "Record Plant".
The Record Plant in New York was the first studio to give the recording artist a comfortable, casual environment rather than the clinical setting that was the norm through the 1960s. Kellgren and Stone brought this same vision to their Los Angeles and Sausalito properties. Stone later said of Kellgren, "He single-handedly was responsible for changing studios from what they were—fluorescent lights, white walls and hardwood floors—to the living rooms that they are today."
Patti Austin (born 10 August 1950) is an American R&B, pop and jazz singer.
Austin was born in Harlem, New York to Gordon, a jazz trombonist, and Edna Austin and was raised in Bay Shore on Long Island.Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington have referred to themselves as her godparents.
She made her debut at the Apollo Theater at age four and had a contract with RCA Records when she was five years old.
By the late 1960s, Austin was a session musician and commercial jingle singer. She appeared on numerous albums by other artists and was known as "Queen of The Jingles," appearing on advertisements for Burger King, Almay make-up, Avon, KFC, McDonalds, Meow Mix, Impulse, Stouffers, Maxwell House and the United States Army.
Austin recorded with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on "Our Day Will Come" and "Swearin' To God" and sang lead and background vocals on many contemporary jazz instrumentalists' records in the 1970s.
Austin sang lead vocal on the title single of Yutaka Yokokura's 1978 debut album, "Love Light" (Toshiba-EMI Music Japan.) The album received an American release in 1981 on Alfa Records, with the title single reaching #81 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The second of three releases by the GRP All-Star Big Band (headed by Dave Grusin) has lots of exciting moments, including "Manteca," "Blue Train," and a version of "Cherokee" that has tradeoffs by trumpeters Arturo Sandoval, Randy Brecker, Byron Stripling, and Chuck Findley. The band performs eight jazz standards plus Grusin's "Blues for Howard." Also among the highlights are the playing of Brecker and Eric Marienthal on "My Man's Gone Now," the teaming of clarinetist Eddie Daniels and vibraphonist Gary Burton on "Sing, Sing, Sing," and the interplay between pianists Grusin and Russell Ferrante on "'S Wonderful." ~ Scott Yanow Recorded live at Gotanda Kan-i Hoken Hall, Tokyo, Japan on January 31, 1993. For the last three years guitarist and clinician Lee Ritenour has been extremely busy with the 6 String Theory Guitar Competition in which guitarists and musicians from all over the world compete for prizes and scholarships from major universities like The Berkley College of Music. Major sponsors of the competition are Concord Records, D'Addario Strings, Monster Cable, and Yamaha. This year in addition to him running the competition, Lee also released one of his most ambitious projects, "Rhythm Sessions," which features some of his dear friends that he's worked, performed, and toured with for well over 40 years. What Lee decided to to do is assemble over 30 different rhythm musicians from all over the musical map, as well as feature three of last year's 6 String Theory Competition winners...

Time, I've been passing time
Watching trains go by
All of my life
Lying on the sand
Watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life
Looking back as lovers go walking passed
All of my life
Wondering how they met
And what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognise the face
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And with so much love to make
I think we're gonna need some time
Maybe all we need is time
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life
I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there's so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah it's telling me it might be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life
It's you
It's you
I've been waiting for
All of my life
Maybe it's you (it's you)
Maybe it's you (it's you)
I've been waiting for
