USB 3.0
USB 3.0 (renamed to USB 3.1 Gen 1 in 2015) is the third major version of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) standard for interfacing computers and electronic devices. Among other improvements, USB 3.0 adds the new transfer mode SuperSpeed (SS) that can transfer data at up to 5 Gbit/s (625 MB/s), which is about ten times faster than the USB 2.0 standard. USB 3.0 connectors are usually distinguished from their USB 2.0 counterparts by blue color-coding of the receptacles and plugs, and the initials SS.
A successor standard, USB 3.1 (renamed to USB 3.1 Gen 2 in 2015), was released in July 2013 with the new transfer mode SuperSpeed+ that can transfer data at up to 10 Gbit/s (1.25 GB/s, twice the rate of USB 3.0), bringing its theoretical maximum speed on par with the first version of the Thunderbolt interface.
Overview
The USB 3.0 specification is similar to USB 2.0 but with many improvements and an alternative implementation. Earlier USB concepts like endpoints and four transfer types (bulk, control, isochronous and interrupt) are preserved but the protocol and electrical interface are different. The specification defines a physically separate channel to carry USB 3.0 traffic. The changes in this specification make improvements in the following areas:

USB
USB, short for Universal Serial Bus, is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the cables, connectors and communications protocols used in a bus for connection, communication, and power supply between computers and electronic devices. It is currently developed by the USB Implementers Forum.
USB was designed to standardize the connection of computer peripherals (including keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, printers, portable media players, disk drives and network adapters) to personal computers, both to communicate and to supply electric power. It has become commonplace on other devices, such as smartphones, PDAs and video game consoles. USB has effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, such as serial and parallel ports, as well as separate power chargers for portable devices.
Overview
In general, there are three basic kinds or sizes related to the USB connectors and types of established connection: the older "standard" size, in its USB 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0 variants (for example, on USB flash drives), the "mini" size (primarily for the B connector end, such as on many cameras), and the "micro" size, in its USB 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0 variants (for example, on most modern mobile phones).

Drok offered to give me one of their USB 3.0 OLED power meters if I reviewed it for them, and I obliged. Like many other units similar to this out on the market, this one is a pass through device. You put the power source on the male end and the power destination on the female end, and the meter shows you the UBS voltage, current, power, and capacity. (lets you switch between mAH and mWH) It also has ten memory slots that you can save capacity data into that persists even when the unit is turned off. It also allows you to rotate the display to view from both sides of the device. In this review, I put it through its paces. HP Z800 USB 3.0 Upgrade and front media panel!
Hey guys so I needed more USB 3.0 ports. I only had 2 that where on the back of the SATA 3/USB 3.0 PCIe card I have installed. I added another USB 3.0 Card with 5 rear ports and a front dual port connector. I also added a media dashboard in one of the front 5.25 inch bays that has 6 USB 2 ports, 2 USB 3 ports, 1 eSATA, 1 internal SATA, 1 molex 4 pin connecter, front audio connectors, and a multi card reader. Like many other units similar to this out on the market, this one is a pass through device. You put the power source on the male end and the power destination on the female end, and the meter shows you the UBS voltage, current, power, and capacity. (lets you switch between mAH and mWH) It also has ten memory slots that you can save capacity data into that persists even when the unit is turned off. It also allows you to rotate the display to view from both sides of the device.
In this review, I put it through its paces. I compare the voltage reading to my bench multimeter, and also see if it can truly handle the 3 amps that it says it can handle. I also go over the general interface, and also cover the packaging and instructions.
Overall, it's a great little device that I recommend to anyone in the market for such a thing. I don't have experience with any of the competitors so I couldn't tell you which is best, but I can say that this specific one gets the job done. I would recommend the usb 2.0 version though, as its 1/3 the cost of this model. (usb 2.0 model is $15, and the usb 3.0 model is $40, both prime on amazon)

I also added a media dashboard in one of the front 5.25 inch bays that has 6 USB 2 ports, 2 USB 3 ports, 1 eSATA, 1 internal SATA, 1 molex 4 pin connecter, front audio connectors, and a multi card reader.

I take a look at the YZXstudio USB 3.0 Power Monitor with OLED display which is sold by Franky -

This test is done with 4 different USB Flash drive´s two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0, allt those are different from each other. Sandisk Cruzer Edge, Sandisk Cruzer Blade, Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0, Intenso USB 3.0, USB 2.0 is not very expensive anymore so its kinda cheap to get what ever model you want, how ever, in this test you will find out the reason why you should go with USB 3.0 instead.
I Would say that there is USB 3.0 flash drives that are NOT good at all, some have very poor write speed and thats not good at all, some USB 3.0 flash drives has the same write speed as most USB 2.0 flash drives, thats such a waste of money I think.
I would say that this is a USB flash drive speed test that is kinda complete with most things you need to know before you go and buy a USB stick.
I use a program called Black Magic Disk Speed Teset, its free and can be downloaded from Appstore, and it works very well. To be able to use the speed of USB 3.0 you need USB 3.0 ports on your computer, those ports are blue color most of the time.
