BBC iPlayer is an internet streaming catchup television and radio service for people in the United Kingdom. The service is available on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones and tablets, personal computers, and smart televisions. Neither the iPlayer services nor the individual TV programmes display any commercial advertising. The terms BBC iPlayer, iPlayer, and BBC Media Player all refer to the same services.
BBC Redux was developed as a proof of concept for a cross-platform, Flash Video-based streaming system. BBC iPlayer left beta and went live on 25 December 2007. On 25 June 2008, a new-look iPlayer was launched, originally as a beta-test version alongside the earlier version. The site tagline was "Catch up on the last 7 days of BBC TV & Radio", reflecting that programmes were unavailable on iPlayer after this time (with some exceptions). The BBC state on their website that this is due to copyright reasons. The marketing slogan was later changed to "Making the unmissable, unmissable". In May 2010 the site was updated again, to include a recommendations feature and a "social makeover".

Scott Robert Mills (born 28 March 1974) is a British radio DJ, television presenter and occasional actor, best known for presenting his show on BBC Radio 1. As of the 2011 Contest, Mills commentated for the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest on BBC Three.
Mills began his career at the age of 16 as a DJ on his local Hampshire commercial radio station, Power FM, after barraging the station with demo tapes. Mills was given an opportunity to present a week worth of shows, and based on the success of this, he was immediately offered the 'graveyard slot' of 1:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. (six nights a week), making him the youngest permanent presenter on the mainstream commercial radio. Mills' popularity led to a quick move to the coveted late afternoon 'drive time'.
Mills moved from Power FM to GWR FM Bristol, staying with the station for two years, before joining Piccadilly Key 103 in Manchester where he again moved quickly from the late night slot to the mid-morning show. In 1995, Mills began to work for the new London station Heart 106.2.
