Davis Street is the name of several streets:

Davis may refer to:
The Union Pacific Railroad (reporting mark UP) is a Class I line haul freight railroad that operates nearly 8,500 locomotives over 32,000 route-miles in 23 states west of Chicago, Illinois and New Orleans, Louisiana. The Union Pacific Railroad network is the largest in the United States and is serviced by more than 47,000 employees.
Union Pacific Railroad is the principal operating company of Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE: UNP); both are headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Over the years Union Pacific Corporation has grown by acquiring other railroads, notably the Missouri Pacific, Chicago & North Western, Western Pacific, Missouri-Kansas-Texas, and the Southern Pacific (including the Denver & Rio Grande Western).
Union Pacific Corporation's main competitor is the BNSF Railway, the nation's second largest freight railroad, which also primarily services the Continental U.S. west of the Mississippi River. Together, the two railroads have a duopoly on all transcontinental freight rail lines in the U.S.
Evanston Davis Street, also called simply Evanston, is a commuter railroad station in downtown Evanston, Illinois, USA. It is served solely by Metra's Union Pacific/North Line with trains going south to Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago and as far north as Kenosha, Wisconsin. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Davis Street is in zone C. The station is next to the Davis station of the Chicago Transit Authority's Purple Line, where numerous CTA and Pace buses also stop. Between the two stations is 909 Davis Street, a six-story building, with a kiss-and-ride loop for car drop-off.
Davis Street station, at Davis Street and Maple Avenue, has two elevated platforms. Northbound trains stop at the west platform and southbound trains stop at the east platform. The ticket agent's office is on the east platform. At ground level, there is a restaurant called Chef's Station. Just to the east of the Davis CTA station is the 12-story Sherman Avenue Garage.
This is the closest Metra station to most of the buildings on Northwestern University's Evanston campus, with the notable exception of Ryan Field, which is closer to the Central Street station.
The Metra / Union Pacific- North Line gets quite busy at rush hours, and also features a bar/lounge car inherited from the Chicago & North Western Railway, the original operator of the line. It runs on train 341 outbound from Chicago, departing Ogilvie Transportation Center at 5:03pm every weekday. To ride in the car though, you have to be part of a club of commuters who pay monthly (I think?) fees to use it. Here is #341 flying through Evanston / Davis Street, with F40PH-2 #154, the 'City of North Chicago', leading the club car and 7 bilevels north.
Several local trains heading to Winnetka, Waukegan and/or Kenosha, Wisconsin stop at Evanston's Davis Street Station. This station is in the centre of the city, and is its most-used Metra stop, as well as an important transfer point to CTA buses and 'L' trains, plus Pace suburban buses, all of which can also be seen in this video. Now Union Pacific territory, this is former Chicago & Northwestern Railway trackage, hence the left-hand running.
This footage was filmed on Friday May 2nd, 2014. I rode the UP North Line to Evanston Davis Street to take care of some important business in the area. After doing what I had to do, I decided to have lunch at a nearby Buffalo Wild Wings and then I went to Old Orchard Mall in neighboring Skokie.and purchased a couple new outfits for myself before heading back to EDS to take the next inbounder to Ogilvie. While waiting for the inbound train at EDS, I filmed several Metra UP-N Line trains and CTA Purple Line L trains, including an outbound express train on the UP-N which had Car #553 in the consist. Take a look near the end of the video at around 5:20. As I filmed my inbound train rounding the curve between the Davis and Central Street stations, some disrespectful asshole in a black jacket d...
Metra Trains arriving and departing from Davis St. Evanston on 25th September 2014
Metra trains 352 and 351 meet at Davis Street, Evanston IL, Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Train 351 is an express and doesn't stop at Davis.
Metra train 330 at the Davis Street station, Evanston, Illinois, November 6, 2013.
I was biking through Downtown Evanston this evening and decided to ride the elevators at Sherman Plaza, a condo building in Evanston. Floor 12 of the elevators offers some amazing views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan, as well as CTA and Metra trains. This is also the first short video of many short videos that I am likely to upload in the future. Enjoy!
