The Barbizon Hotel for Women, later known as Barbizon 63, was symbolic of the cultural change as women began to come to New York City for professional opportunities, but still wanted a "safe retreat" that felt like the family home. It is located at 140 East 63rd Street, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City.
It was built in 1927 incorporating a blend of Italian Renaissance, Late Gothic Revival, and Islamic decorative elements. It is a 23-story steel frame building encased in concrete and faced in salmon-colored brick with limestone and terra cotta decorative elements.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
For most of its existence, it operated as a residential hotel for women, with no men allowed above the ground floor, and strict dress and conduct rules were enforced. The hotel became a more standard hotel when it began admitting men as guests in 1981. In 2002, a $40 million renovation was completed and the name was changed to The Melrose Hotel. In 2005 the hotel closed and the building was gutted and rebuilt for condominium use and renamed Barbizon 63.

Roderick Brisco (born September 20, 1986), better known by his stage name Young Roddy, is an American hip hop recording artist from Kenner, Louisiana.
Young Roddy was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana, on the west side of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area in Jefferson Parish.
Growing up, Roddy was an avid basketball player and aspired to play professionally. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Roddy's mother, with whom he lived at the time, moved to Texas. Roddy did not want to leave New Orleans, however, and moved in with a friend who made beats and had a home studio. At this time, Roddy began to freestyle in cyphers with his friends. Roddy's friends were impressed by his skills, encouraged him to continue freestyling for them, and eventually suggested that he invest more time in his music. Despite this positive feedback and Roddy's genuine passion for music, he still did not see rap as a serious pursuit. Although he enjoyed freestyling, he was not recording music and resisted his cousin's repeated attempts to get him in the studio. Roddy was only goaded into visiting the studio when his cousin told him that Young Money would be recording in the same space. Roddy would go on to meet Curren$y at this studio. After hearing Roddy freestyle, Curren$y asked Roddy to join a new group that he was assembling and the two began to collaborate.

Taken: February 19, 2017 PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BOX! Due to construction on the IND 6th Avenue Line, there is no (D) or (F) train service at all on the line. As a result, (F) trains ran via the (Q) between Lexington Av-63rd St and Canal St and then via the (D) between Atlantic Av-Barclays Center to Stillwell Avenue. This caused severe traffic on the Broadway Express line. I decided to film this station for a station tour because I had no time to do this last month due to a shortage of time, however, I got to film this video, so I hope you all enjoy the video! Without further ado, here come the time stamps. A glimpse of the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 63rd Street before entering the station @ 0:00 - 0:55 A small tour of the upper level (Downtown platform) of the station ...

I've been promising to do this one for a few years now, and for New Year's Day 2013, I decided to just do it. A ride east on 63rd St. in the Caprice, and a rather depressing one at that, for those who remember what it used to look like. And folks, back in the day, 63rd St. jumped. There were wall-to-wall business, starting with the 63rd & Halsted shopping district at the heart of Englewood, at one time the second largest in profits after the Loop, anchored by Sears, Walgreen's, Wieboldt's (a formerly prominent Chicago department store chain) and S.S. Kresge's, with smaller stores extending for a half-mile in all directions. The Southtown Theater, where a newer Walgreen's and Aldi sit today, had SWANS swimming in a pool in the lobby. Side note: my mom saw "Mutiny on the Bounty" there with...

You know you're livin' a lie when you just can't win
Pulling in first prize ain't gonna give you a break
You know I'm kickin' back, I had a broken wing
Me and my shadow are the next best thing
I need someone
You know it might take more than you give to me
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And take me in for the night in the right time zone
We'll do what you like, make a left turn home
I put out the light, you're turnin' way too red
No stop sign straight up ahead
You need so much
So much sympathy
That's more than I can say
You know it's not too late
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And if it feels good, we'll do it again
See your way clear, dead reckoning
Tell me why, tell me why
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
You mean so much
So much to me
That's more than I can say
You know it's not too late
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And if it feels good, we'll do it again
See your way clear, dead reckoning, yeah
What we got here is dead reckoning
