The Style Council - How She Threw It All Away Lyrics
[Lyrics The Style Council - Can You Still Love Me Version] Can you still love me? Take it I look into your eyes and suddenly I see The changing colors of a world of mystery I stare so deep until I finally come 'round Still never knowing what is up and what is down Can you still love me? When my love breaks down Can you still love me? Even when I'm down (Oh, my baby burn this house up - now) I look into your heart and suddenly I feel Those promises I made are nothing till there real I wonder if you can, or like to be alone A love that set me free to live my life in hope Can you still love me? I look into your eyes and suddenly I see The changing colors of a world of mystery I stare so deep until I finally come 'round Still never knowing what is up and what is d...

The Style Council - Live in Goldiggers 1984
Paul Weller and Mick Talbot interviewed by Gary Crowley, and released on side 2 of the UK cassette release of "Our Favourite Shop" from 1985.
First broadcast in 2006, 'Into Tomorrow' looks at the 30-year career of Paul Weller, who tells his own story with the input of those who know him. Using unseen photos and archive footage, it covers his upbringing in Woking, his years with The Jam and The Style Council, his insecurity after being dropped by a record company and his return to popularity in the 1990s.
Dreadful interview with Paul and Mick. Interviewer had nothing to ask about Style Council! Steve Harris squirmed while interpreting. Interview done on Aug. 9, 1985, at the Roppongi Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. We're now on Facebook: Look up the group "Musicians in Their Own Words"
From the playground to the wasteground
Hope ends at 17 -
Sweeping floors and filling shelves
Forced into government schemes -
11 years spent to dig out ditches,
Forget your schoolday dreams -
Guarantees and lie-filled speeches,
But nothings what it seems -
Qualified and patronised and with everything to lose.
No choice or chance for the future
The rich enjoy less tax -
Dress the girls in pretty pink
The shit goes to the blacks
A generation's heart torn out
And covered up the facts
The only thing they'll understand
Is a wall against their backs
The only hope now left for those - with everything to lose.
In desperation empty eyes,
Signed up and thrown away -
There's drugs replacing dignity,
The short sharp shock repaid -
There'll be no money if you dare to question
Working the Tory way -
The truth is up there carved in stone,
Where 21 dead now lay -
A family's loss for a few pounds saved -
