The Dror was an Israeli copy of the Johnson LMG, which was made domestically in Israel as part of Israel's war of independence in the late 1940s. The design was developed through a combination of reverse engineering a Johnson LMG (clandestinely, in a New York hotel room) and technical data leaked to the Haganah by sympathetic employees of the Johnson company. The first version was chambered in .303 British, but this was quickly replaced by an 8mm Mauser version (ammo Israel had significant stocks of at the time) using modified BAR magazines.
Unfortunately, the Dror turned out to be rather unsuccessful in testing. Hopes were very high for it, and it was put into official production before field testing was completed - only to find that it failed many tests pretty badly. Ultimately it was used for training, but saw little or no actual combat use - the Bren and MG-34 were much more successful guns.
This particular Dror is a semiauto rebuild provided by my friend Mark (thanks, Mark!).

Regarding the recent gay pride parade in Tel- Aviv, Israel. It seems that we are going down the same path as the generation of the flood.
There were 200,000 people marching in unity to show support for people openly involved in homosexuality, what the torah (bible) calls a sin.
Not just any sin but one that God calls an abomination.
How are we supposed to react to these disturbing events, and how do we act towards the people involved in them?
Rav Dror answers with a message of love and understanding, while still maintaining our commitment to what we know is Hashem's (God's) will.

In this inspiring and uplifting lecture, Rav Dror Moshe Cassouto gives some serious positive energy and Chizuk to our generation. There is a new name for the devil, and his name is - the imagination. The power of your imagination. Yes, the snake, satan, the devil, the evil inclination, the yetzer hara, call it wha you will, his only power, is the power to play with your imagination. To make you afraid, to play on your fears and feelings, and worry you. The evil inclination tells you that you’re bad, and that God doesn’t love you, but God himself tells us over and over again in the scriptures and the prophecies and the verses that he DOES love us, and that we ARE good. And all of the righteous people in every generation - all of the Tzadikkim, tell us how much Hashem loves us and how much we should count on Him and trust him to take care of us. But the yetzer hara, satan, tells us not to, and makes us afraid. But why listen the yetzer hara? Why do we choose to listen to the voice of the serpent, the lying snake, when we could choose to listen to the voice of God and his holy messengers? We are good. Hashem (God) created us in His image, exactly the way he wants us to be and serve Him. So why so we let the negativity and negative thoughts tell us that we are no good and that there is something wrong with us? We are exactly the way God wants us to be. And we need to work on believing only in God’s love, and God’s compassion, and not to listen the devil who tries to scare us with punishment and hell. God judges us much more favorably and mercifully than we judge ourselves. God doesn’t judge us the way the devil judges us. The way to think positive and to start being happy, is to stop listening to the voice of Satan and start listening to the voice of God.

Habonim Dror
Habonim Dror (Hebrew: הַבּוֹנִים דְּרוֹר, "The Builders-Freedom") is the evolution of two Jewish Labour Zionist youth movements that merged in 1982.
Habonim was founded in 1929 in Great Britain and over a period of years, spread to all English-speaking countries. Each country developed its own independent version of the original movement whilst sharing the core ideology of being a Jewish Socialist-Zionist cultural youth movement.
Dror was founded in Poland in 1915 out of a wing of the Tze'irei Tziyon (Zion Youth) study circle. The majority of Tze'irei Tziyon had merged with a group called Hashomer in 1913 to form Hashomer Hatzair, and those who remained outside of the new group formed Dror. The group was influenced by the teachings of the Russian Narodniks.
Members of Dror participated in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. Mordechaj Tenenbaum and other Dror members organised two underground factions in the Bialystok Ghetto.
Dror was aligned with the HaKibbutz Hameuhad network, while Habonim was aligned with the Ichud kibbutzim. When the two kibbutz movements merged in 1980 to form the United Kibbutz Movement (TaKa"M), so did their respective youth movements.

The Dror was an Israeli copy of the Johnson LMG, which was made domestically in Israel as part of Israel's war of independence in the late 1940s. The design was developed through a combination of reverse engineering a Johnson LMG (clandestinely, in a New York hotel room) and technical data leaked to the Haganah by sympathetic employees of the Johnson company. The first version was chambered in .303 British, but this was quickly replaced by an 8mm Mauser version (ammo Israel had significant stocks of at the time) using modified BAR magazines.
Unfortunately, the Dror turned out to be rather unsuccessful in testing. Hopes were very high for it, and it was put into official production before field testing was completed - only to find that it failed many tests pretty badly. Ultimately it was used for training, but saw little or no actual combat use - the Bren and MG-34 were much more successful guns.
This particular Dror is a semiauto rebuild provided by my friend Mark (thanks, Mark!).

Regarding the recent gay pride parade in Tel- Aviv, Israel. It seems that we are going down the same path as the generation of the flood.
There were 200,000 people marching in unity to show support for people openly involved in homosexuality, what the torah (bible) calls a sin.
Not just any sin but one that God calls an abomination.
How are we supposed to react to these disturbing events, and how do we act towards the people involved in them?
Rav Dror answers with a message of love and understanding, while still maintaining our commitment to what we know is Hashem's (God's) will.

In this inspiring and uplifting lecture, Rav Dror Moshe Cassouto gives some serious positive energy and Chizuk to our generation. There is a new name for the devil, and his name is - the imagination. The power of your imagination. Yes, the snake, satan, the devil, the evil inclination, the yetzer hara, call it wha you will, his only power, is the power to play with your imagination. To make you afraid, to play on your fears and feelings, and worry you. The evil inclination tells you that you’re bad, and that God doesn’t love you, but God himself tells us over and over again in the scriptures and the prophecies and the verses that he DOES love us, and that we ARE good. And all of the righteous people in every generation - all of the Tzadikkim, tell us how much Hashem loves us and how much we should count on Him and trust him to take care of us. But the yetzer hara, satan, tells us not to, and makes us afraid. But why listen the yetzer hara? Why do we choose to listen to the voice of the serpent, the lying snake, when we could choose to listen to the voice of God and his holy messengers? We are good. Hashem (God) created us in His image, exactly the way he wants us to be and serve Him. So why so we let the negativity and negative thoughts tell us that we are no good and that there is something wrong with us? We are exactly the way God wants us to be. And we need to work on believing only in God’s love, and God’s compassion, and not to listen the devil who tries to scare us with punishment and hell. God judges us much more favorably and mercifully than we judge ourselves. God doesn’t judge us the way the devil judges us. The way to think positive and to start being happy, is to stop listening to the voice of Satan and start listening to the voice of God.
