Liberation Army may refer to:
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA; Chinese: 中国人民解放军) is the armed forces of the People's Republic of China and the Communist Party of China (CPC). 1 August is celebrated annually as the Army Day commemorating Nanchang Uprising on 1 August 1927. The PLA consists of five professional service branches: the Ground Force, the Navy, the Air Force, the Rocket Force and the Strategic Support Force. The PLA is the world's largest military force, with a strength of approximately 2,285,000 personnel, 0.18% of the country's population. In September 2015, President Xi Jinping announced that he would reduce the country's military personnel by 300,000. The PLA's insignia consists of a roundel with a red star bearing the Chinese characters for Eight One, referring to August 1.
The PLA is under the command of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the CPC. Following the principle of civilian control of the military, the commander in chief is the Chairman of the Central Military Commission (usually the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China). The Ministry of National Defense, which operates under the State Council, does not exercise any authority over the PLA and is far less powerful than the CMC. A system of political officers embedded within the military assures party authority over the armed forces, so that the primary role of the Ministry of Defense is that of a liaison office with foreign militaries. The political and military leadership have made a concerted effort to create a professional military force restricted to national defence and to the provision of assistance in domestic economic construction and emergency relief. This conception of the role of the PLA requires the promotion of specialised officers who can understand modern weaponry and handle combined arms operations. Troops around the country are stationed in five military theaters and more than 20 military districts.
An army (from Latin arma "arms, weapons" via Old French armée, "armed" (feminine)) or ground force is a fighting force that fights primarily on land. In the broadest sense, it is the land-based military branch, service branch or armed service of a nation or state. It may also include other branches of the military such as the air force via means of aviation corps. Within a national military force, the word army may also mean a field army. They differ from army reserves who are activated only during such times as war or natural disasters.
In several countries, the army is officially called the Land Army to differentiate it from an air force called the Air Army, notably France. In such countries, the word "army" on its own retains its connotation of a land force in common usage. The current largest army in the world, by number of active troops, is the People's Liberation Army of China with 2,250,000 active troops and 800,000 reserve personnel followed by the Indian Army with 1,129,000 active troops and 2,142,900 reserve personnel.
Liberation or liberate may refer to:
Chinese people are the various individuals or groups of people associated with China (or Greater China), either by reason of ancestry or heredity, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, place of residence, or other affiliations.
A number of ethnic groups within the region of China, as well as people elsewhere with ancestry in the region, may be referred to as Chinese people.
Han Chinese, the largest ethnic group in China, are often referred to as "Chinese" or "ethnic Chinese" in English. Han Chinese also form a majority or large minority in other countries, and may comprise as much as 19% of the global human population.
Other ethnic groups in China include the Zhuang, Hui, Manchu, and Uyghurs, among many others. The People's Republic of China (PRC) officially recognizes 56 distinct ethnic groups, some of whom live in special administrative regions of the country. Taiwan officially recognizes 14 tribes of Taiwanese aborigines, who together with unrecognized tribes comprise about 2% of the country's population. The list of ethnic groups in China includes the major ethnic groups of China (PRC) and Taiwan.

This year marks the 90th founding anniversary of the PLA. The last nine extraordinary decades record a history of the diligent march forward under the leadership of the CPC, a history of serving the people with the resolute and capability to win, a history of starting from scratches to overcome powerful opponents with modest strength, and a history worth cherishing and commemorating. China's military: How strong is the People's Liberation Army? China's People's Liberation Army is the world's largest military force, with 2.3 million troops serving on the ground, in the air and in the increasingly robust force China is deploying on the high seas. With Beijing's increasing military assertiveness, most notably in territorial disputes with other Asian nations in the South China Sea, many are taking a hard look at the PLA and Beijing's ambitions to modernize it. Ahead of China’s big military parade on Thursday, we asked Roger Cliff, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and author of the forthcoming book “China's Military Power: Assessing Current and Future Capabilities,” for his take on the state of the PLA. Here, in condensed form, is what he had to say:
The song's former name was March of the Eighth Route Army, and was one of the six songs in the Chorus of Eighth Route Army, all of which had Gong Mu as song writer and Zheng Lücheng as the composer. The song became known as the "March of the Liberation Army" during the second Chinese Civil War. The lyrics were re-edited by the General Political Department in 1951 and the song renamed to March of the Chinese PLA in 1965. On July 25, 1988, the Central Military Commission decided to use the song as the official anthem of the People's Liberation Army.

*To see more information, follow me on Twitter at @exposes_racism. This video is DEFINITELY worth the watch! * I spent countless hours for weeks putting this video together which shows 31 police officers who lost their lives by members of 2 domestic terrorist groups; The Black Liberation Army & The Black Panthers. I've also heavily linked #BlackLivesMatter into this video as they glorify & proudly celebrate the lives of 2 COP KILLERS; Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur & former Black Panther Mumia Abu Jamal. Assata Shakur is also the inspirational backbone behind this new radical militant hate group. #BlackLivesMatter protesters can be heard not only spewing hate towards police officers who are just standing there, but some protesters made DEATH THREATS. One remark by a protester...

Episode XX: Side B This time we take a look at the history of radical and revolutionary mass movements and organizations, starting with the 1970s. The 1970s hold a Forgotten Age of Revolutionary Violence, and will work as a familiar example of mass movements and radical revolutionary thought in America. This time we're taking a look at a splinter organization thrown off from the Black Panther Party known as the Black Liberation Army (BLA). The BLA had a fierce hatred for police and bank safes, and took out a lot of anger on both. In the end, their choice of targets stymied their ability to continue their movement. Who were the BLA? How do they compare to the Weatherman? And why has almost no one ever heard of them? Oh also Tupac's dad was in the BLA.That probably explains some lyrics. ...
