Since 2012, Linde has been working on one of the world’s largest olefin processing plants in Tobolsk, designed to generate high-quality feedstock for polymer production. In total, around 100,000 tonnes of concrete and 60,000 tonnes of steel are going into Tobolsk2’ s construction, as well as almost 5,000 kilometres of cable. When it goes on stream, the plant will produce ethylene at a rate of around 1.5 million tonnes per annum (tpa), as well as 500,000 tpa of propylene and 100,000 tpa of butadiene.
Linde is channelling the technology know-how that it has gained as one of the world’s leading plant engineers into this project, further cementing the company’s position at the forefront of the market.

Тобольск – один из старейших городов на территории Урала и Сибири. Тобольск славится своими удивительными архитектурно-историческими памятниками, главный из которых – Тобольский кремль. Благодаря обилию уникальных достопримечательностей, Тобольск - один из крупных туристических центров Урала и Сибири.
Тобольск был основан летом 1587 года близ впадения Тобола в Иртыш. Первый тобольский острог был выстроен из разобранных казачьих стругов. Он стал вторым русским городом в Сибири (годом ранее была основана Тюмень).
Недалеко от основанного Тобольска находилась столица Сибирского ханства – Искер. Именно в этих местах состоялась решающая битва дружины Ермака с татарским войском.Спустя три года после основания – в 1590 году – Тобольск фактически превратился в центр русской колонизации Сибири. Его называли не иначе как столицей Сибири. При этом чуть ли с момента основания Тобольск превращается в «ссыльный» город. Какие только знаменитости не отбывали здесь ссылку. А началось все... с колокола. В 1591 году ударами колокола в Угличе оповестили о гибели царевича Дмитрия. Угличане приняли весть настолько близко к сердцу, что быстро расправились с предполагаемыми на их взгляд убийцами наследника престола. Царь Борис Годунов жестоко наказал как участников самосуда, так и колокол, звон которого предшествовал расправе. Колокол сбросили со Спасской колокольни, вырвали ему язык и принародно «наказали» 12-ю ударами плетей. Вместе с угличанами его отправили в сибирскую ссылку. Целый год угличские каторжане шли до Тобольска и тянули за собой «наказанный» колокол. Многострадальный колокол сначала заперли в приказной избе, а потом смилостивились и повесили на колокольню. Лишь в 1892 году колокол был возвращен в Углич. Его точную копию можно увидеть в одном из залов Тобольского историко-архитектурного музея-заповедника.
Тобольск – родина многих известных людей. Здесь родились Семен Ремезов, химик Д.И. Менделеев, художник В.Г. Перов, композитор А.А. Алябьев, математик Ю.С. Осипов, изобретатель телевидения Б.П. Грабовский, актер А.Г. Абдулов, архитектор Останкинской телебашни и монумента «Родина-Мать» Н.В. Никитин и другие.В Тобольске отбывали ссылку протопоп Аввакум, декабристы И.А. Анненков, Кюхельбекер, Муравьев, Фонвизин, а также писатель Радищев, государственный деятель М.М. Сперанский, первый русский портретист И.Н. Никитин. в Тобольске в ссылке жил Николай II со своей семьей. В Тобольске жил и П.П. Ершов – автор «Конька-Горбунька».
В Тобольске снимался фильм «Золотая баба», а не так давно - фильм Алексея Балабанова «Война». Градообразующее предприятие – Тобольский нефтехимический комбинат. Также в Тобольске серьезно развивают туризм. Рост туристов как из России, так и из-за рубежа с каждым годом растет.

Tobolsk
Tobolsk (Russian: Тобо́льск) is a town in Tyumen Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Tobol and Irtysh Rivers. It is a historic capital of Siberia. Population: 99,694 (2010 Census); 92,880 (2002 Census); 94,143 (1989 Census).
History
In 1585–1586, during the first Russian advance into Siberia, a group of Yermak Timofeyevich's Cossacks under the command of Daniil Grigor'yevich Chulkov founded Tobolsk near the ruins of the Khanate of Sibir's capital, Qashliq (abandoned in 1588). Situated where the River Irtysh turns from flowing westward to flowing northward, it grew based on the importance of the Siberian river routes. It became the seat of the newly-established Siberia Governorate in 1708 and prospered on trade with China to the east and with Bukhara to the south. Tobolsk saw the establishment of the first school, theater, and newspaper in Siberia. After the Russians defeated the Swedish army at Poltava in 1709, large numbers of Swedish prisoners were sent to Tobolsk. They numbered about 25% of the total population. Many of them were not repatriated until the 1720s, and some of them settled permanently in Tobolsk.

Тобо́льск — город в Тюменской области. Административный центр Городского округа город Тобольск. Ранее административный центр Тобольского района, Тобольского округа, Тобольского уезда. После муниципальной реформы на городской территории находится лишь администрация соседнего муниципалитета.

В XIX веке в связи с перемещением торговых путей, а затем строительством железной дороги (в стороне от города) экономическое значение Тобольска упало. Тобольск был основан летом 1587 года близ впадения Тобола в Иртыш. Первый тобольский острог был выстроен из разобранных казачьих стругов. Он стал вторым русским городом в Сибири (годом ранее была основана Тюмень).
Недалеко от основанного Тобольска находилась столица Сибирского ханства – Искер. Именно в этих местах состоялась решающая битва дружины Ермака с татарским войском.Спустя три года после основания – в 1590 году – Тобольск фактически превратился в центр русской колонизации Сибири. Его называли не иначе как столицей Сибири. При этом чуть ли с момента основания Тобольск превращается в «ссыльный» город. Какие только знаменитости не отбывали здесь ссылку. А началось все... с колокола. В 1591 году ударами колокола в Угличе оповестили о гибели царевича Дмитрия. Угличане приняли весть настолько близко к сердцу, что быстро расправились с предполагаемыми на их взгляд убийцами наследника престола. Царь Борис Годунов жестоко наказал как участников самосуда, так и колокол, звон которого предшествовал расправе. Колокол сбросили со Спасской колокольни, вырвали ему язык и принародно «наказали» 12-ю ударами плетей. Вместе с угличанами его отправили в сибирскую ссылку. Целый год угличские каторжане шли до Тобольска и тянули за собой «наказанный» колокол. Многострадальный колокол сначала заперли в приказной избе, а потом смилостивились и повесили на колокольню. Лишь в 1892 году колокол был возвращен в Углич. Его точную копию можно увидеть в одном из залов Тобольского историко-архитектурного музея-заповедника.
Тобольск – родина многих известных людей. Здесь родились Семен Ремезов, химик Д.И. Менделеев, художник В.Г. Перов, композитор А.А. Алябьев, математик Ю.С. Осипов, изобретатель телевидения Б.П. Грабовский, актер А.Г. Абдулов, архитектор Останкинской телебашни и монумента «Родина-Мать» Н.В. Никитин и другие.В Тобольске отбывали ссылку протопоп Аввакум, декабристы И.А. Tobolsk was founded in 1587. Moscow encouraged the construction of stone buildings there. In 1683-1686, masons sent from Moscow and Veliky Ustyug built the stone St. Sophia-Assumption Cathedral. Around the beginning of the 18th century the stone walls and the towers of the Kremlin were built, as well as a number of buildings that have not survived to our days, standing on a westward line from St. Sophia-Assumption Cathedral: the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Bishop's House, the Holy Gate with the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh and the bell tower. The Siberian Metropolitan Paul (who, before the appointment to Tobolsk, was the Archimandrite of the Chudov Monastery in the Moscow Kremlin) supervised the construction. The cathedrals built under his supervision were cross-domed structures topped by five domes.
At the end of the 17th century construction work in the Kremlin was continued by Semyon Remezov, a cartographer who was also the first historian of Siberia. He had the Departmental Palace (1699–1704) built above the southern cliff of the hill and the Trading Arcades (1702–1706) in the northwestern corner of the Kremlin.
Knyaz M. Gagarin, appointed in 1708 first governor of the Siberian province, planned to create in the Kremlin impressive buildings for military administrative and commercial use, which should have constituted, together with the Sofia court a monumental center. In construction works were employed Swedish prisoners of war who were in exile in Tobolsk. To prevent the erosion of the mountain, the Tobol River was moved to the south for two versts. In 1712, by the project of Remezov was built the stone tower Demetrius gate and next to it, on the edge of the mountain, the Ascension church (destroyed in 1717).
Despite the 1714 ban of stone construction, work continued until 1718. After the execution of governor Gagarin, the Demetrius gate remained unfinished. In 1743-1746 was built the Church of the Intercession, accessory building of St Sophia-Assumption Cathedral. Walls and towers were gradually destroyed. In 1799 were built the stone retaining walls of St. Sophia gully and a new multi-tier bell tower - the tallest building of the city.

In XVII century the need for the Russian city at the mouth of the Om was so great, that many people repeatedly asked the Tsar Peter I about its Foundation. Omsk was founded by I. D. Buchholz in 1716 as a fortress defending the southern border of the state. Omsk was the only city along with St. Petersburg and Moscow in Russia, to whom was granted the right to raise the state flag of the Russian Empire in Siberia and Asia. In the 19th century in Omsk exiled revolutionaries (the Decembrists) were serving sentences, including the famous Russian writer F.M. Dostoevsky. Omsk State University and a library was named in honour of Dostoevsky. The main development of the town received in the XX century. After the 1917 revolution, during the civil war and the confrontation between the White and Red movements, Omsk was the official capital of the Russian Empire (White Russia) under the leadership of Admiral Kolchak (1918 - 1920). The city has expanded considerably in the years of the Great Patriotic War (WW2) when many factories was evacuated from the European part of Russia, until the collapse of the Soviet Union was known as the "Garden City", "City of Youth", "City of Sciences". Omsk awarded the honorary title of "City of labor glory", is a major industrial center with enterprises of different industries, including Petro-chemical, defense and aerospace. Planet Omsk is in international catalog of minor planets.
Omsk remained a major cultural and sports center of Siberia: active theatre and exhibition activities, major national and international festivals, the famous Siberian International Marathon, international hockey tournaments, national competitions in equestrian sports, etc. have been taking place here. Transfiguration monastery became the spiritual center of Ladoga lands. It is believed that in ancient times on the island, was located the main temple of Veles (or Volos) and Perun, who were the main deities for the Gentiles living close. The monastic tradition says that the Holy Apostle Andrew, enlightener of the Scythians and the Slavic peoples, moving along the route "from the Varangians to the Greeks", blessed of cross the mountain on the island. Period 1839-1917 is the heyday of the monastery. In 1989 on December 13, the day of memory of St. Andrew, when the island came six monks, the monastery began the process of revival. And 16 years later, in 2005, was first heard 1000-pound bell "Andrew", mounted on the bell tower in the monastery in the framework of the restoration of an ancient belfry. The feast of the Nativity of the blessed virgin Mary September 21, 2008 Patriarch Alexy II consecrated the St. Vladimir skete on Valaam island and conducted the first divine Liturgy in the temple.
