Synopsis : Mansi and Amar have been married for years, and have a daughter by this marriage. Amar is employed full-time, while Mansi looks after the household chores and their daughter. Amar earns a steady income, which enables the family to live comfortably, but they cannot afford to be extravagant at all. One day while buying shoes for her daughter, Mansi realizes that shoes are really expensive, and wants to leave the store without purchasing them.
Another woman customer named Reena offers to pay for the shoes, as she feels sorry for Mansi. Mansi reluctantly accepts Reena's offer to pay for the shoes, not realizing that Reena has paid for these shoes with a secret agenda that will take Mansi to a whole new world, and change her life forever.

Om Puri
Om Rajesh Puri OBE (born 18 October 1950) is an Indian actor who has appeared in mainstream commercial Indian and British films, Independent films and art films. His credits also include appearances in American films. He has been awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India.
Early life
Om Puri was born in Ambala, Haryana, to a Punjabi Hindu family. His father worked in the railways and in the Indian Army. Puri graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He is also an alumnus of the 1973 class of National School of Drama where Naseeruddin Shah was a co-student.
Career
Puri has worked in numerous Indian films and in many films produced in the United Kingdom and the United States.
He made his film debut in the 1976 Marathi film Ghashiram Kotwal, based on a Marathi play of the same name by Vijay Tendulkar. It was directed by K. Hariharan and Mani Kaul in cooperation with 16 graduates of the FTII. He has claimed that he was paid "peanuts" for his best work. Along with Amrish Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil, he was among the main actors who starred in what was then referred to as art films such as Bhavni Bhavai (1980), Sadgati (1981), Ardh Satya (1982), Mirch Masala (1986) and Dharavi (1992).

Aastha : In the Prison of Spring is a 1997 Bollywood film, produced and directed by Basu Bhattacharya. The film stars Rekha, Om Puri, Navin Nischol and Daisy Irani in the main roles. The film went on to receive both critical acclaim and commercial success, the latter of which had eluded Basu in his last few films. Subsequently, spurred on by this success, Basu was even planning to remake the film in English, though he died in June 1997, at the age 62.The film's success was described as blurring the gap between Indian art and commercial cinema, where art film makers, dealing with serious issues, used a musical format to make the film more commercially appealing, thus reaching a wider audience. Rekha received a nomination of 1997 Star Screen Award for Best Actress.
In the movie, Rekha had the controversial role of a married woman who turns into a prostitute, which was severely criticized by the audience. About her role in the movie, Rekha said, "After 'Aastha: In the Prison of Spring' people had a lot to say about my role of a wife who moonlights as a prostitute. I don't have problems playing anything. I've reached a stage where I could do justice to any role that came my way. It could be role of a mother, a sister-in-law; negative, positive, sensational or anything.
The movie is remarkable for its explicit love scenes.

The screenplay of both movies was by Vijay Tendulkar, the noted Marathi playwright; this one was based on the short story, 'Surya', by S.D.Panvalkar, and featured dialogues by Vasant Dev.
In this acclaimed cop-drama, the protagonist, played by Om Puri, is a policeman struggling with the evils around him and with his own frailties. The film also stars Amrish Puri, Smita Patil, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and features a theme poem by the Marathi writer Dilip Chitre.
Ardh Satya won many awards and went on to become a landmark film in Indian film history. It is still considered to be one of the best cop films made in India.

Synopsis - Bazaar-e-Husn is a film based on Munshi Premchand's novel Bazaar E Husn. The story revolves around Suman, a courtesan. Brought up by an honest Police Inspector, Suman's life goes through all kinds of turmoil. From being harassed for dowry to becoming a victim of domestic abuse, Suman suffers a lot but at the end rises like a phoenix. How did a simpleton like Suman end up as a courtesan? How does she break free from all the difficulties in her life? Bazaar-e-Husn answers all these questions and more beautifully.

His wife (Smita Patil) is raped by the foreman who then has him arrested to hide his own crime. Lawyer Bhaskar (Naseeruddin Shah) tries to help Bhiku out. But Bhiku's wife commits suicide out of shame. Soon after his father's death, the police bring him to the funeral grounds in manacles and shackles to complete the Last Rites of his dead father. There he sees the foreman looking at his sister with lustful eyes. Divining the fate that is in store for her, he suddenly grabs an axe and chops off his sister's head. Watch out the movie.

Om Puri has worked in numerous Indian films and in many films produced in the United Kingdom and the United States. He made his film debut in the 1976 film Ghashiram Kotwal, based on a Marathi play of the same name. He has claimed that he was paid "peanuts" for his best work. He has collaborated with Amrish Puri as well as Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil in art films such as Bhavni Bhavai (1980), Sadgati (1981), Ardh Satya (1982), Mirch Masala (1986) and Dharavi (1992).

Think Literature 2013: 'Think Literature', the Bhubaneswar Literature Festival 2013, organised by Tefla's, in association with 'Think Foundation' and 'Times of India', was inaugurated on 30 November 2013 at Swosti Premium Bhubaneswar.
The 2 days innovative festival witnessed number of stalwarts and celebrities from the field of literature, art and culture, cinema and other sections of the intellectual spectrum.
The key theme of this year's festival surrounded with the thoughts and logic on rebuilding the thirteen century's global heritage — the Sun Temple of Konark.
When Mr. Kailash Singh, Managing Director, Tefla's handled the welcome address, Mr. Raghunath Mohapatra, renowned sculptor, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest.
Prof. Chandrasekhar Rath and Satyananda Mishra were other attractions of the inaugural ceremony.
Actors like Om Puri, Annu Kapoor, Rahul Bose were the Bollywood attractions who spoke extensively on the beginning of their career, the journey so far and how literature influences cinema, music and other forms of arts.
Tall literary figures like Prof. Manoj Das, J. P. Das also graced the event during the 2 day long sessions.
