Merv "Spam" Spence is an Irish musician & Producer, best known for his work with Wishbone Ash and Trapeze.
Spence moved to Staffordshire from Ireland in the late 1970s, and began playing with bands such as The Jury and Big Daisy.
During Spence's time in local bands, he was spotted by Mel Galley, who promptly offered Spence the bassist and vocalist position in Trapeze, which had been left vacant since Peter Goalby had left to join Uriah Heep. Spence briefly toured with the band, and during his tenure recorded one album's worth of material, which – due to Galley's departure to replace Bernie Marsden in Whitesnake – remains unreleased. Several of the songs from these sessions however (Demos exist in bootleg form), would form the basis for Galley's Phenomena project.
Following the break-up of Trapeze, Spence was offered an audition for Wishbone Ash while he was pitching demo material to various outlets. On the strength of his vocal range and enthusiasm, Spence became a member of the band. Spence would perform on one album by the band, 1985's Raw to the Bone.
Ryan may refer to:
O'Ryan (born O'Ryan Omir Browner; February 12, 1987 in Compton, California) is an American R&B singer. He is the younger brother of R&B singer Omarion. He released a self-titled album in 2004 which aimed at the teen pop audience.
O'Ryan comes from a musical family. Despite his family's musical ties, as a child, O'Ryan would always let his brother Omarion garner attention for his singing abilities. However, after being cast as Michael Jackson in a play in Los Angeles, O'Ryan found himself following his brother and moving into the spotlight.
O'Ryan is signed to The Ultimate Group (the recording label for former group B2K) and is also on the roster for Motown Records.
He let on a song called Take It Slow, which was co-written by Andre "mrDEYO" Deyo the writer of Jenny From The Block and featured Jessica Benson of 3LW in the lead role in the music video. It also O'Ryan's then-girlfriend Jhene Aiko as one of the lead's friends. It peaked at #110 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs in September 2004.
Give Up is the only studio album by electronic music band The Postal Service, released February 19, 2003 on Sub Pop Records.
The band began as a side project between electronic music artist Jimmy Tamborello and Death Cab for Cutie's vocalist Ben Gibbard. The two had previously worked together for a track on Dntel's album Life Is Full of Possibilities.
The Postal Service's only full-length release, Give Up was the second Sub Pop Records release to receive platinum certification, their best selling album since Nirvana's Bleach. The album peaked at #114 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart in its initial release; the 2013 tenth-anniversary reissue of the album peaked at #45 in April 2013. As of January 2013, Give Up had sold 1.07 million copies. The album was generally well received, and critics commented on its throwbacks to the eighties new wave genre.
The Postal Service's two members – Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and electronic music artist Jimmy Tamborello – had previously collaborated on "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan" before deciding to record a full-length album together. The two worked on the album separately; in December 2001, Tamborello sent a CD-R of electronic music to Gibbard, who added melodies and wrote lyrics. He then added drums, guitar and keyboards at Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla's recording studio and sent the CD back to Tamborello. This process of mailing each other their work on the album continued; after ten months and two trips by Gibbard to Los Angeles to record vocals, the album was completed. The group called themselves "The Postal Service" because of this method of trading ideas.Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis provided backup vocals after being cold called by Gibbard, who knew her when Rilo Kiley was on the same label as Death Cab for Cutie.
"I'm Coming" is a Korean-language song, and the first single from the album Rain's World, by Korean singer Rain. The single was released in early October 2006 to Korean radio, and was an instant hit. The single also features Korean rapper Tablo of Epik High.
The song begins: "Ajigdo naleul umjig-ineun him-eun" (아직도 나를 움직이는 힘은, still power is moving me) then continues till the refrain beginning "Rain is coming down" in English. The title phrase "I'm coming" does not appear in the lyrics.
An English version is said to exist.
The music video begins with Rain in a room with a light representing the sun rising. Then he is shown coming down a helicopter with wings and looking around. The atmosphere suggests a war has just happened so he has a very pained face. The scene changes and he is walking to a clearing in the wreckage without wings and soldiers are coming out of the rubble. The rest is a dance interlude.

Penniless former rock star has locked himself in the ATTIC of his recording studio at his country home - to protest against a mortgage company trying to repossess his property. Mervyn Spence (corr), 55, took the drastic step after he was unable to meet the £1,400-a-month repayments with Britain's biggest building society Nationwide. The former bass player with Wishbone Ash - who had a string of hits in the 1970s - said the company had refused to cut the 5.5 per cent interest rate he has been stuck with since 2008. The father-of-two even sold two of his prized guitars in 2010 to keep up with his repayments before he fell further behind in 2013. Nationwide then took him to court in January last year and a judge ruled they had the right to sell the two-bedroom detached house in Lichfield,...
New track from a potential new album from Mervyn Spence's version of Phenomena.
The 2006 Phenomena compilation "The Complete Works" contained several bonus tracks, three of which were supposedly due to be released on a new album, tentatively titled "Phenomena IV: A Room with No Windows", from Mervyn Spence's version of the project sometime in 2007. Presumably owing to legal disputes with the Galley brothers, the album was never released. 1. Karma (Huwey Lucas) 0:00 - 5:20 2. Forever (Huwey Lucas) 5:21 - 10:26 3. Scalpel & Heart (Steve Hollyman, Tom Carter, Matt McGuinness) 10:27 - 12:18 Personnel for tracks 1 and 2 are unlisted (Presumably Lucas is on guitar, but the vocalist doesn't sound like Spence. Anyone have any idea as to the musicians on these?) Track 3 is: Steve Hollyman - guitars, vocals Tom Carter - 6 string bass Matt McGuinness - drums Tracks 1 and 2 ...

Second solo album from Mervyn Spence (Big Daisy, Trapeze, Wishbone Ash), again released under the pseudonym "O'Ryan". No original material on display this time, instead we get an album mainly consisting of covers of songs found on the first three Phenomena albums (This album was recorded not long after Spence managed to acquire the Phenomena rights).
