Its name, retained in accordance with tradition, uses the once common term colored people.
The NAACP bestows the annual Image Awards for achievement in the arts and entertainment, and the annual Spingarn Medals for outstanding positive achievement of any kind, on deserving Black Americans. It has its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.
The NAACP's headquarters is in Baltimore, with additional regional offices in California, New York, Michigan, Colorado, Georgia, Texas and Maryland. Missouri (see pronunciations) is a state located in the Midwestern United States. It is the 21st most extensive, and the 18th most populous of the fifty states. The state comprises 114 counties and the independent city of St. Louis.
As defined by the 2010 US census, the four largest urban areas in order of population are St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and Columbia. The mean center of the United States population at the 2010 census was in the town of Plato in Texas County. The state's capital is Jefferson City. The land that is now Missouri was acquired from France as part of the Louisiana Purchase and became known as the Missouri Territory. Part of this territory was admitted into the union as the 24th state on August 10, 1821.
Missouri's geography is highly varied. The northern part of the state lies in dissected till plains and the southern portion lies in the Ozark Mountains (a dissected plateau), with the Missouri River dividing the regions. The state lies at the intersection of the three greatest rivers of the United States, with the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers near St. Louis, and the confluence of the Ohio River with the Mississippi north of the Bootheel. The starting points for the Pony Express, Santa Fe Trail, and Oregon Trail were all located in Missouri as well.
St. Louis (/seɪnt ˈluːɪs/ or /sənt ˈluːɪs/) is a city and port in the U.S. state of Missouri. The city developed along the western bank of the Mississippi River, which forms Missouri's border with Illinois. In 2010, St. Louis had a population of 319,294; a 2014 estimate put the population at 317,419, making it the 60th-most populous U.S. city and the second-largest city in the state in terms of city proper population. The St. Louis metropolitan area includes the city as well as nearby areas in Missouri and Illinois; with an estimated population of 2,905,893, it is the largest in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States. St. Louis was founded in 1764 by Pierre Laclède and Auguste Chouteau and named after Louis IX of France. Claimed first by the French, who settled mostly east of the Mississippi River, the region in which the city stands was ceded to Spain following France's defeat in the Seven Years' War. Its territory east of the Mississippi was ceded to the Kingdom of Great Britain, the victor. The area of present-day Missouri was part of Spanish Louisiana from 1762 until 1803.

The NAACP issued a travel advisory about the state of Missouri for women, minorities and LGBT people, asking those travelers to use “extreme caution.” The NAACP’s first statewide alert comes after Missouri passed a law that the organization says permits legal discrimination. President Rod Chapel Jr. of the Missouri NAACP joins Hari Sreenivasan to discuss how and why the advisory came about.
A local branch of the NAACP has rebuked the “travel warning” that the National NAACP office has levied against the state of Missouri. To back up a little bit, the reason why the NAACP announced the travel warning is because of Senate Bill 43 that Missouri’s Republican governor signed into law recently. According to mainstream media, the bill simply makes it more difficult for current or former employees to sue their employers on the basis of discrimination. Upon further examination, all that it does is update the law to comply with the federal rule and also 38 other states. Now, instead of discrimination being a “contributing factor” to the negative action described in a lawsuit, it must now be the “motivating factor.” The goal of the bill is to reduce frivolous lawsuits. The NAACP al...

Missouri is changing its basis for discrimination claims. Victims will now have to prove what the "motivating" factor is behind the discrimination, which the NAACP says is "legalizing discrimination in Missouri." The NAACP is now issuing a travel warning about visiting the state. Jericka Duncan has the story. No no,
Nooo no
Where should I start?
I don't wanna break her heart.
The phone rings and it's you
You beg me to come home
And the truth is girl you think, I'm in the studio
For a moment I was there
And then I ended up here
Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place,
What is this I'm gonna face,
If she ever finds out
(Should I just go)
And do what my heart tells me to
(But I cannot let go)
You don't know what I'm goin through
(How did I get)...
Caught up in this sticky situation that I'm facing.
How do I? Say to my girl that I've been cheating.
How can I? Try to explain the late night creeping.
How do I? Tell her the truth and it not end.
How do I? Say I've been cheating with your best friend.
Your best friend, best friend.
I've been cheating with your best friend,
Your best friend, best friend, No no no no
Babygirl it's been tearing me apart,
And it really hurts my heart that I gotta be telling you this.
Even tho I know it's gonna be the end
I couldn't hold it any longer and keep lying to myself
I never wanted to see you cry
You think I'm messed up I know why
Maybe it's my past coming to haunt me
But I'm just doin exactly what she taught me.
(Should I just go)
And do what my heart tells me to
(But I cannot let go)
You don't know what I'm goin through
(How did I get)...
