The 22nd century is a century of the Common Era in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It is the century following the current 21st century, beginning on January 1, 2101 and ending on December 31, 2200.
Rush or rushes may refer to:
Aleksandar Živojinović, OC (born August 27, 1953), better known by his stage name Alex Lifeson, is a Canadian musician, best known as the guitarist of the Canadian rock band Rush. In 1968, Lifeson co-founded the band that would become Rush, with drummer John Rutsey and bassist and singer Jeff Jones. Jones was replaced by Geddy Lee a month later, and Rutsey was replaced by Neil Peart in 1974; the band's lineup has remained the same ever since.
With Rush, Lifeson plays electric and acoustic guitars, as well as other stringed instruments such as mandola, mandolin, and bouzouki. He also performs backing vocals in live performances, and occasionally plays keyboards and bass pedal synthesizers. Like the other members of Rush, Lifeson performs real-time on-stage triggering of sampled instruments, concurrently with his guitar playing.
The bulk of Lifeson's work in music has been with Rush, although Lifeson has contributed to a body of work outside of the band as well. Aside from music, Lifeson is part-owner of The Orbit Room, a bar and restaurant located in Toronto, a painter, and a licensed aircraft pilot.
Neil Ellwood Peart, OC (/ˈpɪərt/; born September 12, 1952), is a Canadian-American musician and author, best known as the drummer and primary lyricist for the rock band Rush. Peart has received numerous awards for his musical performances, including an induction into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1983, making him the youngest person ever so honored. He is known for his technical proficiency and stamina.
Peart grew up in Port Dalhousie, Ontario (now part of St. Catharines). During adolescence, he floated between regional bands in pursuit of a career as a full-time drummer. After a discouraging stint in England to concentrate on his music, Peart returned home, where he joined a local Toronto band, Rush, in the summer of 1974.
Early in his career, Peart's performance style was deeply rooted in hard rock. He drew most of his inspiration from drummers such as Keith Moon and John Bonham, players who were at the forefront of the British hard rock scene. As time passed, he began to emulate jazz and big band musicians Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. In 1994, Peart became a friend and pupil of jazz instructor Freddie Gruber. It was during this time that Peart decided to revamp his playing style by incorporating jazz and swing components. Gruber was also responsible for introducing him to the products of Drum Workshop, the company whose products Peart currently endorses.
Geddy Lee Weinrib (born Gary Lee Weinrib, July 29, 1953), OC, known professionally as Geddy Lee, is a Canadian musician, and singer/songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the Canadian rock group Rush. Lee joined what would become Rush in September 1968, at the request of his childhood friend Alex Lifeson, replacing original bassist and frontman Jeff Jones. Lee's first solo effort, My Favourite Headache, was released in 2000.
An award-winning musician, Lee's style, technique, and skill on the bass guitar have inspired many rock musicians such as Cliff Burton of Metallica,Steve Harris of Iron Maiden,John Myung of Dream Theater, and Les Claypool of Primus. Along with his Rush bandmates – guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart – Lee was made an Officer of the Order of Canada on May 9, 1996. The trio was the first rock band to be so honoured, as a group. Lee is ranked 13th by Hit Parader on their list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal vocalists of all time. Lee was voted the best bassist in rock by WatchMojo.com.
2112 is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. Released on 1 April, 1976. It features the seven-part title suite composed by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, with lyrics written by Neil Peart telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. It is sometimes described as a concept album although the songs on the second side are unrelated to the suite. Rush repeated this arrangement on the 1978 album Hemispheres. One of the notable exceptions is the hard rockin' Canadian trio Rush. The group's 1974 self-titled debut and the follow-up album Fly By Night, issued the following year, created a buzz among heavy rock aficionados, but little else. The third album, Caress Of Steel, found the band beginning to create a hard-edged form of progressive rock (quite unlike its British progressive-rock counterpart) that confused as many fans as ...

P1320059-2112
And the meek shall inherit the earth
We've taken care of everything the words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one we work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why
We are the priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within these walls
Look around at this world we've made equality our stock in trade
Come and join the brotherhood of man
Oh, what a nice, contented world let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand
We are the priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
