A military parade (square bashing in British military slang) is a formation of soldiers whose movement is restricted by close-order manoeuvring known as drilling or marching. The military parade is now almost entirely ceremonial, though soldiers from time immemorial up until the late 19th century fought in formation. Massed parades may also hold a role for propaganda purposes, being used to exhibit the apparent military strength of one's nation.
The terminology comes from the tradition of close order formation combat, in which soldiers were held in very strict formations as to maximise their combat effectiveness. Formation combat was used as an alternative to mêlée combat, and required strict discipline in the ranks and competent officers. As long as their formations could be maintained, regular troops could maintain a significant advantage over less organised opponents.
Although the firepower of breechloading rifles and machine guns long ago rendered close formations in battle suicidal, modern armies still use parades for ceremonial purposes or in non-combat environments for their efficiency, ease of organization and encouragement of discipline. Roughly synonymous are "drill" and "march". The English word "drill" is of Middle Dutch origin, dating from the 16th century drill of the Dutch army of prince Maurice of Orange, which was widely copied throughout Europe at the time.
A parade (also called march or marchpast) is a procession of people, usually organized along a street, often in costume, and often accompanied by marching bands, floats or sometimes large balloons. Parades are held for a wide range of reasons, but are usually celebrations of some kind. In Britain the term parade is usually reserved for either military parades or other occasions where participants march in formation; for celebratory occasions the word procession is more usual. In the Canadian Forces the term also has several less formal connotations.
Protest demonstrations can also take the form of a parade, but such cases are usually referred to as a march instead.
The parade float got its name because the first floats were decorated barges that were towed along canals with ropes held by parade marchers on the shore. Floats were occasionally propelled from within by concealed oarsmen, but the practice was abandoned because of the high incidence of drowning when the lightweight and unstable frames capsized. Strikingly, among the first uses of grounded floats — towed by horses — was a ceremony in memory of recently drowned parade oarsmen. Today, parade floats are traditionally pulled by motor vehicles or powered themselves.

Imran Khan Niazi (born 5 October 1952) better known as Imran Khan is a Pakistani politician, former cricketer, philanthropist, cricket commentator and former chancellor of the University of Bradford. He is also founder of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and the Namal College, Mianwali. Khan played international cricket for two decades in the late twentieth century and, after retiring, entered politics.
Khan was Pakistan's most successful cricket captain, leading his country to victory at the 1992 Cricket World Cup, playing for the Pakistani cricket team from 1971 to 1992, and serving as its captain intermittently throughout 1982–1992. After retiring from cricket at the end of the 1987 World Cup in 1988, owing to popular demand he was requested to come back by the president of Pakistan Zia ul Haq to lead the team once again. At the age of 39, Khan led his team to Pakistan's first and only One Day World Cup victory in 1992. With 3807 runs and 362 wickets in Test cricket, he is one of eight world cricketers to have achieved an 'All-rounder's Triple' in Test matches. On 14 July 2010, Khan was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi (Urdu: شاه محمود قریشی; born 22 June 1956) is a Pakistani politician, agriculturist and a parliamentarian who is currently serving as the Vice-chairman and deputy parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Prior to that, he was the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and high-ranking member of the central executive committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party until being deposed by the central committee and the foreign ministry, on an issue involving the Raymond Davis affair, 9 February 2011. It worth mentioning that Zardari after reshuffling of the cabinet of PM Gillani never offered Qureshi to become FM instead he was offered to accept the post of Minister of Water and Power but Qureshi insisted to continue as FM. Qureshi was elected a member of national assembly from NA-150 (Multan-III) and was the runner up from NA-228 (Mirpur Khas-III) and NA-148 (Multan-I) on 11 May 2013 on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Qureshi is also the current Sajjada Nashin and custodian of the Mausoleum of Shah Rukn-e-Alam and of the Shrine (Darbar) of Hazrat Baha-ud-din Zakariya.

PARADE GROUND was formed in 1982 (A time when lots of bands were popping up, and disturbing rock music with a fresh and daring electro sound) by the brothers Pierre and Jean-Marc PAULY starting with more cold wave inspired songs and evolving towards an intelligent electro pop sound avant la lettre. Their first release came in 1983 under the wings of Daniel B. and Patrick CODENYS from FRONT 242, aware of PARADE GROUNDs talent and potential; they did collaborate to almost all PARADE GROUNDs records and even released some material on MASK Records (FRONT 242s own label in the early days).
