Primary school

A primary school or elementary school is a school in which children receive primary or elementary education from the ages of about five to eleven, coming before secondary school and after preschool. It is the first stage of compulsory education in most parts of the world, and is normally available without charge, but may be offered in a fee-paying independent school. The term grade school is sometimes used in the US though this term may refer to both primary education and secondary education.

The term primary school is derived from the French école primaire, which was first used in 1802.

Primary school is the preferred term in the United Kingdom and many Commonwealth Nations, and in most publications of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Elementary school is preferred in some countries, especially in the United States and Canada.

In the United States, "primary school" may refer to a school with grades Kindergarten through second grade (K-2). In these municipalities, the "elementary school" includes grade three through five. The terms first school or infant school may also be used in North America though these, strictly speaking, refer to different educational programs.

The Little Theatre in Rochester, New York, commonly known as "The Little" is a movie theatre located on historic East Avenue in downtown Rochester, New York and a modest non-profit multiplex specializing in art film, including independent and foreign productions outside the United States.

Founded in 1928, The Little is one of the oldest active movie theaters built specifically to show films in the US, serving as an alternative venue for cinema of higher artistic caliber than what was popular at the time. To remain in business, The Little has created a unique theater experience for its patrons strikingly different from that of standard commercial cinemas. The Little typically shows films that never make it to the large theater chains, either due to lack of publicity, popularity, exposure, or content that is too risky and/or inappropriate for larger audiences (such as NC-17 rated films). The Little Gym

The Little Gym International is a franchiser of infant and child oriented fitness gyms, following the guidelines set out by USA Gymnastics. It was founded in 1976, by educator Robin Wes.

Today The Little Gym International is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was incorporated in 1992 to franchise The Little Gym concept. It currently operates over 300 franchises in 29 countries throughout the world. The Little Gym offers classes in Parent-Child, developmental gymnastics for both Pre-k and Grade school, Karate, Sports Skills Development, and Dance. Ages 4 months to 12 years. The Little Gym also offers birthday parties, camps, and Parents' Survival Nights.

The Little Gym uses music that is both produced and performed by The Little Gym employees.

The Little Gym follows a philosophy in all of its classes referred to as "Three Dimensional Learning", they are: Get Moving, Brain Boost, and Citizen Kid.
