Sarath Babu

Sarath Babu (Telugu: శరత్ బాబు) (born Sathyam Babu Dixithulu) is an Indian film actor, known for his works in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films. He has been in the industry for nearly 37 years and has acted in more than 200 films, most of them in a supporting role. He has acted in 80 films each in Telugu and Tamil, 20 in Kannada, a few in Malayalam and Hindi He entered the film industry in 1973 through a Telugu film and later became popular through the Tamil film Nizhal Nijamagiradhu directed by K Balachander. He has received eight state Nandi Awards.

He is reported to have said that

My first break was in Tamil directed by Balachander. The same was remade in Telugu as Idhi Katha Kadu with me, Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi and the film was a hit.

Sarath Babu was married twice. His first marriage was with actress Rama Prabha in 1981 and they got divorced in 1988.

Sarath Babu has received numerous awards, including eight Nandi awards as the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for his roles in Telugu movies.. In an interview, he said that he came close to winning the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for Nenjathai Killadhe in 1980.

K. S. Ravikumar

K. S. Ravikumar (Tamil: கே. எஸ். ரவிகுமார்; born 30 May 1958) is an Indian film director and actor, primarily working in Tamil cinema. In a career spanning around 25 years, he has directed some of the most recognisable and well-known Tamil films of all time and is considered one of the most popular film makers in Tamil cinema. He has directed numerous films ranging from comedy and drama to action thrillers.

Career

1990–1997

Ravikumar then worked as co-director on R. B. Choudary's production Pudhu Vasantham directed by Vikraman and the success of the film prompted the producer to give Ravikumar a chance to make his directorial debut. Ravikumar thus debuted as a film maker through Puriyaadha Pudhir (1990), a crime thriller starring Rahman and Raghuvaran in the leading roles. A remake of the Kannada film Tarka, the film won positive reviews upon release and remains as Ravikumar's only film outside the masala film genre. The success of the film meant that Ravikumar was able to expand his team of assistants and shortly after began work on a film under the same production house titled Pudhu Kaaviyam with Vikram in the lead role, though the venture was later shelved. He subsequently switched his genre of films to make a series of village action entertainers and regularly collaborated with actor Sarath Kumar, scoring successes with Cheran Pandiyan (1991) and Nattamai (1994), after which he became a highly sought after film maker in the Tamil film industry.

Major dynasties that were established in South India include the Cheras, Cholas, Pandyas, Pallavas, Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas and Vijayanagara. European countries entered India through Kerala and the region was colonized by Britain and other nations.
