Join C. Vision Productions as we head to the Iron Range in Minnesota and visit the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range railroad. This classic ore hauling railroad operates with stunning maroon and gold locomotives that pass through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the state!
Our cameras capture the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range in its final months before the rail line was bought out by the CN Railway in the spring of 2004. We follow movement on the Missabe Division from Duluth to the Minntac facility at Mt. Iron. You will also see T-Bird trains running from the Thunderbird North Mine in Eveleth to the recently reopened United Taconite Plant in Forbes. We then take you on a tour of the Iron Range Division from Iron Junction to Two Harbors.
DM&IR;'s rebuilt tunnel motor SD-40 dash 3's are accompanied by SD-38's and the Missabe's rebuilt SD-9 and SD-18 locomotives. You'll experience even more variety as you watch BNSF and CN "All-Rail" trains that traverse the DM&IR.;

At one point I mention in this video that "Scott’s is a charming spot with more float traffic than I’ve ever seen anywhere else." Only after uploading did I realize the folly of my statement. Maybe I should have qualified "...in Minnesota." If you've ever visited Lake Hood in Anchorage, or been near Kenmore Air on Lake Washington in Seattle, you know there's places with more float traffic.

Gunflint Range is in the extreme northern portion of Cook County and extends into Canada; and
Cuyuna Range, southwest of the Mesabi, largely within Crow Wing County.
Iron Range
The Iron Range is an informal and unofficially designated region that makes up the northeastern section of Minnesota in the United States. It is a region with multiple distinct bands of iron ore. The far eastern area, containing the Duluth Complex along the shore of Lake Superior, and the far northern area, along the Canadian border, of the region are not associated with iron ore mining. Due to its shape, the area is collectively referred to as the Arrowhead region of the state.
The area consists of seven counties: Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and Saint Louis.

Iron
Iron is a chemical element with symbol Fe (from Latin: ferrum) and atomic number 26. It is a metal in the first transition series. It is by mass the most common element on Earth, forming much of Earth's outer and inner core. It is the fourth most common element in the Earth's crust. Its abundance in rocky planets like Earth is due to its abundant production by fusion in high-mass stars, where the production of nickel-56 (which decays to the most common isotope of iron) is the last nuclear fusion reaction that is exothermic. Consequently, radioactive nickel is the last element to be produced before the violent collapse of a supernova scatters precursor radionuclide of iron into space.
Like other group 8 elements, iron exists in a wide range of oxidation states, −2 to +6, although +2 and +3 are the most common. Elemental iron occurs in meteoroids and other low oxygen environments, but is reactive to oxygen and water. Fresh iron surfaces appear lustrous silvery-gray, but oxidize in normal air to give hydrated iron oxides, commonly known as rust. Unlike many other metals which form passivating oxide layers, iron oxides occupy more volume than the metal and thus flake off, exposing fresh surfaces for corrosion.

Maybe I should have qualified "...in Minnesota." If you've ever visited Lake Hood in Anchorage, or been near Kenmore Air on Lake Washington in Seattle, you know there's places with more float traffic.

In 2015 I rode my Indian Chief Vintage motorcycle to all 48 states and 4 corners of the continental U.S. As I rode from Port Orange to Miami Florida, I did some "Motovlogging," recording some terrible audio through my helmet's microphone into the camera, offering tips to riders who might like to try this someday. The audio is weak, but I think the tips could really help out riders who are getting ready for a long trip. So, take this video for what it's worth, and I hope it gives you a few helpful ideas about your upcoming trip.

Warsaw University served as military barracks while education was mostly outlawed, but an underground “secret university” of more than 3000 students emerged.
The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews was once the infamous Warsaw ghetto, where over 400,000 were incarcerated in just less than one and a half square miles. Nearby, the Warsaw Uprising Monument and the Warsaw Rising Museum pay tribute to one of the bravest chapters of the city’s history.
Visit the Palace of Culture and Science, a gift to the Polish people from Stalin.
Stroll along the Royal Route, a path once used by Polish Kings, today a popular tourist walk, studded with historical sites.
Along Nowy Swiat Street, pass the monument to Polish astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus. Closer to the river is the Copernicus Science Centre.
See the heart of another of Warsaw’s famous sons, Fryderyk Chopin in the Holy Cross Church. His music floats through Lazienki Park, home to Lazienki Palace.

Tips for riding motorcycle long distance. Many people asked me: How many km per day I am riding? It depends from many circumstances. It could be from 200 to 1200km. I don't have this answer, but what I have is 10 tips how to ride on long distance.
1. Start – always wake up before sunrise. If you do will have enough time for everything.
Breakfast, preparing, toilet and so on.
2. Luggage – pack your back properly and fix it tight on your bike. Make sure that all the things, which you going to need on the road are in the easy to access position.
3. Fuel – always refill the bike before you go to sleep so you are not going to waste your time in the mornings.
4. Timing – ride strict. Make the brakes and refueling at the same time. Never ride more than 2 hours without stopping and never stop for more than 30 min. In both case you are losing your concentration. Riding on high speed to recover the time will not help, it’s opposite you can make an accident and your journey will over.
5. Food – always have a nice breakfast. It will help you to ride until lunch without think about food. Eat as light is possible. Things like big steaks or Mc Donald’s are not the right choice. Keep some chocolate bars or nuts in your pocket in the case you need some energy.
6. Water – drink a lot of water. Use Camel back instead of normal bottle. With Camel back you are able to drink at any time, with bottle only when you stop. When you riding your body consume double more water than usual.
7. Back pack – keep it as light is possible. Even 2 kg will be a problem in some stage. At the end the back pack will finish in the garbage or tight on the tale of your bike. I recommend to use military vest instead of backpack. The vest split the weight around your body and it’s not a problem to wear it all day.
8. Coffee – the coffee is very powerful stimulant. Some people can’t live without it. If possible stop it before the trip, if not bring enough. On the destinations like Asia is not easy to find. Coffee addiction is real and you don’t want to test it on the way.
9. Communication – if you riding in a group set a Bluetooth system. You can connect up to 8 devices. If you are alone use ear plugs. They make the journey much easier. Some times after long day ride I go to bed, close my ayes, but I can’t sleep. I have this noise in my head – bu bi bu. All of this will be avoided if you use ear plugs.
10. Stop on time – it’s mean to have enough time to find a place to sleep, to unload you bike to have a dinner, check the map for the next day and maybe to see something of the area you are staying. All of this will ensure enough time for a good night sleep and you will be ready to start on the next morning fresh like a baby.

Tips for riding motorcycle long distance. Many people asked me: How many km per day I am riding? It depends from many circumstances. It could be from 200 to 1200km. I don't have this answer, but what I have is 10 tips how to ride on long distance.
1. Start – always wake up before sunrise. If you do will have enough time for everything.
Breakfast, preparing, toilet and so on.
2. Luggage – pack your back properly and fix it tight on your bike. Make sure that all the things, which you going to need on the road are in the easy to access position.
3. Fuel – always refill the bike before you go to sleep so you are not going to waste your time in the mornings.
4. Timing – ride strict. Make the brakes and refueling at the same time. Never ride more than 2 hours without stopping and never stop for more than 30 min. In both case you are losing your concentration. Riding on high speed to recover the time will not help, it’s opposite you can make an accident and your journey will over.
5. Food – always have a nice breakfast. It will help you to ride until lunch without think about food. Eat as light is possible. Things like big steaks or Mc Donald’s are not the right choice. Keep some chocolate bars or nuts in your pocket in the case you need some energy.
6. Water – drink a lot of water. Use Camel back instead of normal bottle. With Camel back you are able to drink at any time, with bottle only when you stop. When you riding your body consume double more water than usual.
7. Back pack – keep it as light is possible. Even 2 kg will be a problem in some stage. At the end the back pack will finish in the garbage or tight on the tale of your bike. I recommend to use military vest instead of backpack. The vest split the weight around your body and it’s not a problem to wear it all day.
8. Coffee – the coffee is very powerful stimulant. Some people can’t live without it. If possible stop it before the trip, if not bring enough. On the destinations like Asia is not easy to find. Coffee addiction is real and you don’t want to test it on the way.
9. Communication – if you riding in a group set a Bluetooth system. You can connect up to 8 devices. If you are alone use ear plugs. They make the journey much easier. Some times after long day ride I go to bed, close my ayes, but I can’t sleep. I have this noise in my head – bu bi bu. All of this will be avoided if you use ear plugs.
10. Stop on time – it’s mean to have enough time to find a place to sleep, to unload you bike to have a dinner, check the map for the next day and maybe to see something of the area you are staying. All of this will ensure enough time for a good night sleep and you will be ready to start on the next morning fresh like a baby.

If you've ever visited Lake Hood in Anchorage, or been near Kenmore Air on Lake Washington in Seattle, you know there's places with more float traffic.
