On the last day of Interbike 2014 things were slow, so Joe and I were going through Charlie Kelly's new book "Fat Tire Flyer" when a couple fans stopped to ask some questions about CK's Breezer #2 that was on display next to us. On pre-World War II-era steel they bombed the fire roads of greater San Francisco, their wheels trailing smoke from the burning grease in their hubs. Braking wasn't really an option for the pioneers of mountain biking ... Other members of Kelly's crew included Tom Ritchey and Joe Breeze, whose names still are emblazoned on bikes and bike parts across Colorado ...
