You have a visit with one of the many keepers of The Rifts (see below for further Rift lore info). Partly inspired by the game Bloodborne as well as H. P. Lovecraft. Expect a Bloodborne rp in the near future. Rift lore background: A Brother is a guardian of a Rift, having substantial knowledge and expertise of its use, and in some cases may still be a traveler. All Brothers were once Rift Walkers: beings with basic understanding and access to a Rift(s). A Rift is a gateway that allows one with knowledge of its use to travel to other worlds, dimensions and realities, be it past, present or future. It is said that Professor Clemmons opened the first Rift during his tenure at Arkham Sanitarium, bringing about an apocalyptic event on the planet. However, evidence strongly suggests that he merely unlocked one of several, with Rifts having been active on Earth since the dawn of mankind, if not even earlier. There is thought that these portals do not exist in any known physical sense of the word, and that the term merely serves as an analogy for a manifestation that occurs within one's own mind. Due to the nature of such a reality-altering experience, it leaves a significant impression upon the Rift Walker, making one feel and believe as though they have indeed traveled to another plane of existence. In some cases, Rift Walkers claim to have witnessed and experienced life through the body of another being. Those too weak to handle Rift Walking often lose their sanity, if not their lives, with others strong enough to become adept travelers, rising to the ranks of Brother or Sister. ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
