Bosko

Bosko is an animated cartoon character created by animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. Bosko was the first recurring character in Leon Schlesinger's cartoon series, and was the star of 39 Looney Tunes shorts released by Warner Bros. He was voiced by Carman Maxwell, Johnny Murray, and Ruby Dandridge during the 1920s and 1930s, and once by Don Messick during the 1990s.

Creation and first film

In 1927, Harman and Ising were still working for the Walt Disney Studios on a series of live-action/animated short subjects known as the Alice Comedies. Hugh Harman created Bosko in 1927 to capitalize on the new "talkie" craze that was sweeping the motion picture industry. Harman began thinking about making a sound cartoon with Bosko in 1927, before he even left Walt Disney. Hugh Harman made drawings of the new character and registered it with the copyright office on 3 January 1928. The character was registered as a "Negro boy" under the name of Bosko.

Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes is an American animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 to 1969 during the golden age of American animation, alongside its sister series Merrie Melodies. Drawing inspiration for its name from Walt Disney's then-concurrent musical series Silly Symphonies, Looney Tunes initially showcased Warner-owned musical compositions through the adventures of cartoon characters such as Bosko and Buddy.

Later, following the animation studio's addition of directors Tex Avery and Chuck Jones among others, as well as the voice actor Mel Blanc, Looney Tunes rose to greater fame for introducing such cartoon stars as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin the Martian, Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil and many others. These characters themselves are commonly referred to as the "Looney Tunes" (or "Looney Toons"). From 1942 to 1964, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies were the most popular animated shorts in movie theaters, exceeding the works of Disney and other popular competitors including Fleischer Studios, Walter Lantz Productions, UPA, Terrytoons and MGM.

Boško Buha

Boško Buha (Serbian: Бошко Буха; 1926–1943) was a young Yugoslav Partisan and one of the greatest icons of World War II in Yugoslavia.

Early life

Boško Buha was born into a Croatian Serb family in the Slavonian village of Gradina, near Virovitica in today's Croatia. In 1941, after the Axis invasion of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the establishment of the Independent State of Croatia, his family was targeted by the Ustasha and had to seek shelter in Serbia.

Career

Buha eventually reached territory under Partisan control. There he tried to join the Partisans, but he was rejected due to his young age (at the time he was only 15). After a few attempts, he managed to con his way into the Partisans and took part in active combat. In 1942 he joined the 2nd Proletarian Brigade of YNLA. Soon he developed a talent for sneaking towards enemy bunkers and destroying them with hand grenades (as part of the Bombaši). His talent and bravery almost immediately became stuff of legends and his unit, which had many young men and teenagers, was nicknamed the "Partisan Artillery". In late 1942 Buha was publicly commended by Tito.

Congo Jazz

Congo Jazz is a Looney Tunes cartoon starring Warner Bros.' first cartoon star, Bosko. The cartoon was released in September 1930. It was distributed by Warner Bros. and the Vitaphone Corporation. Congo Jazz was the first cartoon to feature Bosko's falsetto voice that he would use for the bulk of the series' run (the previous Bosko short, Sinkin' in the Bathtub, had used a stereotypical Negro dialect). It has the earliest instance of a "trombone gobble" in animation.

Plot

As Bosko is hunting in the jungle, a tiger creeps up behind him and gives him a lick. Finding his gun useless, Bosko tries to flee. After being chased and having his body stretched and his head slapped off, Bosko pulls out a flute and begins playing music, which greatly entertains the tiger. Bosko and the tiger play patty cake, dance, and Bosko plays the tiger's whiskers and tail like guitar strings. Now that the tiger has been rendered thoroughly harmless, Bosko kicks it off a cliff. Bosko then spots two little monkeys playing leap frog. He picks one of them up, but the monkey spits in his eye. Bosko begins spanking the monkey's behind, until he notices the monkey's father looming above him. Acting nonchalant, Bosko offers the ape some chewing gum. The ape accepts, and seems to enjoy the gum very much. They both stretch the gum out of their mouths and begin plucking a tune. The rest of the jungle animals join in: monkeys, ostriches, kangaroos, and more. They play music on themselves, on each other, or with the jungle scenery. A kangaroo plays a tree, monkeys play a giraffe, and an elephant plays its trunk. A tree does a provocative fanny-slapping dance, gyrating its coconut bosoms, until one flies off and hits Bosko in the head. Bosko and three hyenas laugh.

Pjesma „Bosko i Admira" je najavni singl novog, desetog studijskog, albuma grupe Zabranjeno pusenje "Radovi na cesti". Pjesma govori o istinitoj i tragicnoj ljubavi dvoje Sarajlija, Bosnjakinji i Srbinu, koji su rodjeni iste godine, o njihovoj bezgranicnoj ljubavi otkako su se upoznali u srednjoj skoli i o tome kako ih razlicitosti, ljudska zloba, rat pa cak ni smrt nisu uspjeli rastaviti. Dok su zajedno pokusavali napustiti opkoljeni grad, sarajevski Romeo i Julija, su ubijeni 18.5.1993. godine na Vrbanja mostu. Snajperski metak pogodio je Boska koji je izdahnuo na mjestu dogadjaja. Drugi metak je pogodio Admiru. Smrtno ranjena dopuzala je do svog mrtvog decka, zagrlila ga i izdahnula. Autori pjesme "Bosko i Admira" su Mario Vestic, Sejo Sexon i Toni Lovic. Producenti pjesme su Toni Lovic i Sejo Sexon, a pjesmu je masterirao John Davis (Metropolis Mastering London). Spot je sniman od 20. do 23.3.2013. u Sarajevu, a premijeru je imao 6.4.2013. godine, na Dan grada Sarajeva. Уместо знојем, земља крвљу нам се купала. Све нас је мање на теренима, у клупама. А каква је утеха кретање у групама, што је немоћ, по рупама, годинама скупљала? Ко кад, од реда, сви добију кеца. Па се жале деца: „Питања су била тешка." Па се жали кева. Школа избаци човека. Па је врх система, сутра, мекан и не зна. Време је за спознају, без доказа у рукама, да створени смо добри, са Љубављу у срцима. С почетка, на почетку, тад, се потрага завршила. Пронашли смо Веру. Извор делу, наспрам бесмисла. (Искушењима баченим на себе, брусим свој драгуљ Вере) (Моја Вера у дела је то што зовем идеал) (Верујем у Љубав) / (Верујем у Бога) Увек сам вероао да ћу бити неко, без обзира шта зе мене зао глас је рек'о. Најближи су имали Љубави за мене. То је основа свега, снага моје Вере. Љубав за улицу и њену светлу страну. Док већина је видела само ону мрачну - без љубави, сјебану, у муци и плачу- ја, са Вером у боље, правим причу јачу. Увек чврсто на земљи, нисам глуп и луд. Јер за то боље потребан је тежак рад и труд. За мене вера није мољење и чекање. За мене је вера Љубав, са проблемом цепање. Далеко од тога да сам нека цвећка. Ал' дајем све да будем пример доброга Човека. Некад статива, некад погођена пречка, ал' вера у погодак (гол!) је моја срећа Нисам светац, нити монах, да ме не тангира новац. Само обичан момак, који скапаће од посла, то сам. Долар је моћан. Моћ опојна је дрога. Али њему нисам вољан, ипак, да сазидам олтар. Хоћете све и одмах? Ко ће, бре, све да прода? Влада Вавилона? Пошто кошта лифтом вожња? У темељу је зло а диже се под облак. Не треба ми то, па гледам да препознам где су Љубав и Доброта. Да тим смером смерно ходам. Додам: Да ли сам Добар? А не: Шта сам добар? Дражи је чист образ, канал да копам, болан него, по каналу, своју браћу да возам. Јер живот је борба, без предаха, до конца, за своју душу сушту и будућност потомства. Нисмо без грешке али начиниће помак у позитиван исход Вера јака као вођа.

Przytoczone poniżej wizje-sny Św. Jana Bosko dotyczące piekła, są wyjątkami z książki p.t.: „Sny i wizje Św. Jana Bosko", Wydawnictwo Salezjańskie 1990 r., Imprimatur Ks. Biskup Rozradowski. Wizje te miały charakter nadprzyrodzony, gdyż to Pan Bóg przemawiał do Św. Jana Bosko, co sam Święty zresztą nieraz podkreślał i za takie zostały uznane przez Kościół Święty. Sen o piekle wywiera straszne i przerażające wrażenie. W czasie jego trwania kierują ks. Bosko bezpośrednio moce z nieba. Prawda w nim przedstawiona jest jasna i konkretna. Kto go gruntownie przestudiuje i dobrze się nad nim zastanowi, przestanie mówić lekceważąco o grzechu i piekle. Przewodnik wytyczył dokładnie ks. Bosko linię demarkacyjną, poza którą nie istnieje ani miłość, ani przyjaźń, ani żadna pociecha. Rozciąga się jedynie rozpacz tych, którzy postępowali za głosem zepsutego świata. W niedzielę wieczorem 3 maja 1868 r., w uroczystość Opieki św. Józefa, ks. Bosko wznowił opowiadanie serii snów, z których uprzednio zwierzył się swoim synom duchowym i wychowankom.

Gdje god bi se pojavili, a uvijek su bili skupa, izazivali su pažnju. O njihovoj ljubavi pričalo je Sarajevo. Admira Ismić i Boško Bato Brkić rođeni su 1968. godine. Beskrajno su se voljeli. Spremali vjenčanje. Ali nisu bili spremni na Zlo, na ludilo, na agresiju na Bosnu i Hercegovinu. Sarajevo je bilo pod Opsadom. Admira i Boško se ni tad nisu dali razdvojiti. Voljeli su se, sanjali su slobodu, maštali i krojili planove. Nakon godinu dana života pod Opsadom odlučili su napustiti Sarajevo i Bosnu i Hercegovinu. Odlučili su otići negdje gdje će živjeti normalnim životom. Odlučili su osloboditi svoju ljubav.
