Woman finds dead fish in car, mums everywhere relate

A woman's posted a picture of a dried fish that she found in her car and parents everywhere don't know what the big fuss is all about.

You see we've found all sorts of crazy things in our cars, our homes and in our children's lunchboxes.

One time I found a sausage in one of my kids' beds when I was changing her sheets. I'm unsure what the worst part about that was – the sausage being in the bed and her not even realising or that we hadn't had sausages in weeks, so I mustn't have changed her sheets for way too long.

Mouldy apples, squashed bananas, unexplained brown smears on walls and the furniture… these are just a few of the special presents we find everyday.

Then there's the tiny trinkets you discover, things you never purchased, but somehow end up in your house. And don't forget the wildlife brought home after a visit to the playground – leaves, sticks, stones, dirty feathers, petrified poo.

Then there's the lunchboxes and the school bags. I've never gagged as much as when I've found mouldy fruit stuck between the pages of a schoolbook.

Our home is like a rubbish bin collection point.

For Zola Hayes, she has reason to be confused by her latest find. It does seem a bit fishy.

"A fish. A f***ing fish. In my passenger seat cushions," she said in a Facebook post.

She'd been digging around in between her passenger seat cushions, looking for her lost debit card, when she found the fish. At first she thought it was a leaf, but at closer inspection she discovered it was a tiny, dried fish.

"HOW DID THE FISH EVEN GET THERE? I HAVE MY DOORS LOCKED. I HAVEN'T BEEN TO A LAKE SINCE I GOT THIS CAR. HOW THE F*** DID A FISH GET INTO MY CAR."

She named the fish Grant.

The post's been liked by hundreds of people who have given their own theories ranging from witchcraft, flood damage or the previous owner of the car putting it there.

But this theory was best: "The person who put the fish there has your debit card…possibly…"

For mums everywhere they first response was: "Do you have kids?"
