Melbourne:Â Australian cycling legend Phil Anderson has been airlifted to hospital with broken ribs and a broken collar bone after falling off his bike.
Anderson, in a Facebook post, said he took a tumble during a training ride and pictures show him being loaded into an air ambulance.

"Sitting up and feeling great after a rough training ride.
He wore the yellow jersey for the first time in the 1981 Tour de France, backing up to wear it again in 1982 for nine days. He also won a stage in 1982, as well as the white jersey for best young rider. He finished fifth overall in the general classification in 1982, and again in 1985.

Anderson predicted earlier this month that Canberra rider Michael Matthews would claim the green jersey in Paris following the disqualification of world champion Peter Sagan.
Matthews is currently in green and, barring accidents and mechanicals in the final three stages, should continue Australia's strong green jersey tradition in Paris on Sunday.
