HIDDEN ERROR: Usage of "Spouse?s?" is not recognized
David Rose (June 15, 1910 – August 23, 1990) was an American songwriter, composer, arranger, pianist, and orchestra leader. His most famous compositions were "The Stripper", "Holiday for Strings", and "Calypso Melody". He also wrote music for many television series, including It's a Great Life, The Tony Martin Show, Little House on the Prairie, Highway To Heaven, Bonanza, and Highway Patrol under the pseudonym "Ray Llewellyn." Rose's work in composing music for television programs earned him four Emmys. In addition, he was musical director for The Red Skelton Show during its 21-year run on the CBS and NBC networks. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the national fraternity for men in music.
Recipient of four Emmy awards, Rose was born in London, to Jewish parents, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. The family name was originally Rosenberg. Rose's career in music began when he worked with Ted Fio Rito's band when he was sixteen. Rose also worked as a standby pianist for NBC Radio. It was here, in the early 1930s, that he first gained a reputation, while arranging for the Frank Trumbauer orchestra and later leading a house band at station WGN. He composed several early swing originals such as "Break It Down" with Frankie Trumbauer, "Transcontinental," "Plantation Moods," and a piece recorded under three different titles: "I've Got It", "Itchola", and "Jigsaw Rhythm," his original version with the WGN band including Louis Prima.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
A rose (/ˈroʊz/) is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwest Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses.
The name rose comes from French, itself from Latin rosa, which was perhaps borrowed from Oscan, from Greek ρόδον rhódon (Aeolic βρόδον wródon), itself borrowed from Old Persian wrd- (wurdi), related to Avestan varəδa, Sogdian ward, Parthian wâr.
"The Stripper" is an instrumental composed by David Rose, recorded in 1958 and released four years later. It evinces a jazz influence with especially prominent trombone lines, and evokes the feel of music used to accompany striptease artists.
The song came to prominence by chance. David Rose had recorded "Ebb Tide" as an A-side of a record. His record company, MGM Records, wanted to get the record on the market quickly, but they discovered they had no B-side for it. Rose was away at the time the need for the B-side song surfaced. An MGM office boy was given the job of going through some of Rose's tapes of unreleased material to find something that would work; he liked the song and chose it as the flip side for the record. The song reached number one on Billboard's Top 100 chart in July, 1962. It became a gold record. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 5 song of 1962.
The piece features in the films Slap Shot, Scarecrow, Used Cars, Stella (1990 film), The Full Monty and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit as well as TV series Monty Python's Flying Circus, Family Guy, The Persuaders, The Golden Girls, Maude, Coupling, Little Britain, Are You Being Served?, As Time Goes By, Keeping Up Appearances, Drawn Together, Black Books, Quantum Leap and Scrubs. It was also famously used in a parody by British comedy duo Morecambe and Wise, where they danced to the tune while making breakfast. A PG Tips tea commercial featured a parody of the Morecambe and Wise sketch with Johnny Vegas and Monkey making a cup of tea in a similar manner.

Plot: Model citizen David Rose runs a garden center and is a devoted house-father. Like his wife Ivy, who suffered two stillbirths, their new neighbor Melinda is near to giving birth. Just after David showed her around in the Rose home, Melinda goes missing. Although no corpse is found, just circumstantial evidence more likely to be planted then stupidly left behind, police detective Blanchard treats David as his sole suspect, soon arrested, even after nosy neighbor Bindel is knocked down while David is in jail. School buddy Theo does his best to counsel the couple, yet Ivy doubts her husband's innocence just because of indications he may have had an affair with Melinda since high-school, and starts snooping with her best friend Jody. The worst crime is still being hatched.

In clubs this was the little number that would turn a rowdy crowd into a cheering and whistling crowd, with always a few (sometimes more than a few) would-be strip teasers getting up on tables and the bar to dance. I used to play it on oldies nights of course, but would spring it on the crowd when they least expected it during rock and dance sets. My 45 vinyl single, the one I used back in the day (late 70's/early 80's), says it was a hit in 1962. So, I was somewhat surprised to come across late 1950's dates on the Internet for the release of this smash party hit, which I, of course, knew first hand was wrong. It turns out both are right: "The Stripper" was composed by David Rose and ...

Fantástica melodía interpretada por la Orquesta del genial David Rose.
Here is the undervalued score for Hombre, the 1966 Martin Ritt's movie with Paul Newman and a great cast. On my opinion, this has to be considered one of the best ever soundtracks for a western, and the movie itself as one of the best westerns ever made.

This is the vision David Rose shared 33 years ago when he and co-founder Anne Meyer started CAST, the Center for Applied Special Technology, with a small team from North Shore Children’s Hospital. They envisioned radical changes for education, driven by the latest developments in technology, brain science, and design. They developed the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and innovative tools and resources that impacted every learning environment imaginable – from classrooms, lecture halls, online programs, curricular materials, instructional goals, afterschool programs, museums, and more. Old John Brown left Kansas before the blood had dried
And as he rode his head did shine like the sun in mid-July.
In a tiny farm house by Brunswick piano
He warmed his boots by the fireplace and read aloud from Samuel.
David rose to beat the Philistines with five smooth stones and a sling.
One October morning his army did approach
The armory that sat between the Potomac and Shenandoah.
The engine house flung open with report of several guns
When it was done he looked upon the bodies of his dying sons.
David rose to beat the Philistines, with five smooth stones and a sling.
Throughout our history there are those ghosts
Compelled to illustrate our dreams and hopes
Victors hang in pictures, losers from ropes.
Regardless they all swing in the same boat.
Yeah....yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
In Southampton County 'round 1831
Nat Turner prayed and the cornstalks swayed
A voice rose up and a text was raised.
In the planter's steak house they went from room to room
When it was done they rode along to liberate Jerusalem.
David rose to beat the Philistines, with five smooth stones and a sling.
Throughout our history there are those ghosts
Compelled to illustrate our dreams and hopes
Victors hang in pictures, losers from ropes.
Regardless they all swing in the same boat.
