Countries, towns and cities located around the equator experience hot weather throughout the year. It is because the sun remains almost directly overhead everyday.
Countries that are further North or South of the equator experience a change in seasons, when hot weather follows cold weather.
Living near the Equator – In places near the equator the sun’s rays are almost directly overhead thus keeping temperatures high.
Living in places with seasons – Countries like United Kingdom and Korea, which are further North and South from the equator experience a change of four seasons.
Living far from the Equator – In the Antarctic, the sun’s rays strike the Earth at a very low angle and this is why the climate here is so icy cold. The ice makes this region even colder by reflecting the sun’s light and heat back into space.

There is a profound connection between Nazca and Angkor Wat. Were these two ancient sites on the old equator at opposite ends of the earth? Other sites on this proposed old equatorial line might hold the answer.
Charles Hapgood advocated the Earth crust displacement theory in a book entitled The Path of the Poles. Hapgood supported this theory with geomagnetic and carbon dated evidence. In a book entitled When the Sky Fell, Rose and Rand Flem-Ath also advocate the Earth crust displacement theory, with additional geological and archeological evidence. Both of these works conclude that the North Pole was located in the Yukon, at 63° N 135° W, approximately 80,000 to100,000 years ago.
This is about 250 miles Northeast of the axis point for the line of ancient sites at 59° 42' N 139° 17' W. It is interesting to note that some of the heaviest remaining glaciations in all of North America is on the Southeastern coast of Alaska, surrounding Yakutat.

Where is the equator? Is it here, running through Mexico, or here, running through Peru? It's actually neither. The equator runs through Brazil, Kenya, and Indonesia and traces on the plane right in the middle of the two poles. But as you can probably suspect, the answer to "where is the equator" isn't quite so simple. The equator bulges and moves with the Earth. Surprised? Watch the video to learn more!

Equator
An equator is the intersection of a sphere's surface with the plane perpendicular to the sphere's axis of rotation and midway between the poles. The Equator usually refers to the Earth's equator: an imaginary line on the Earth's surface equidistant from the North Pole and South Pole, dividing the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. Other planets and astronomical bodies have equators similarly defined. Earth's equator is about 40,075 kilometres (24,901 mi) long; 78.7% is across water and 21.3% is over land.

The latitude of the Earth's Equator is by definition 0° (zero degrees). The Equator is one of the five notable circles of latitude on Earth, with the others being the two Polar Circles: the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic Circle, and the two Tropical Circles: the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. The Equator is the only line of latitude which is also a great circle. The imaginary circle obtained when the Earth's equator is projected onto the sky is called the celestial equator.

Equator
For most people the equator is just an imaginary line running 25,000-miles around the globe. But the countries along the equator are among the most troubled on the planet. In this new series Simon takes a journey around the region with the greatest natural biodiversity and perhaps the greatest concentration of human suffering: the equator. In Equator Simon meets illegal loggers, father and son circumcisers, drunk villagers, and a young woman stuck in the baking desert. Simon and the Equator film-crew are protected by soldiers in a coca field, and UN 'peace-enforcers' in a gold mine. They are blackmailed and abandoned by drivers in one country, and travel through another that has just 300 miles of paved roads - despite being the size of Western Europe. Simon is drenched while white-water rafting, surrounded by a million flamingos and swallowed by a tidal wave. After being warned about the deadly virus Ebola, Simon vomits blood and develops a temperature of nearly 40C. Diagnosed with malaria, he's saved by medicine derived from the Vietnamese sweet wormwood. One remote tribe takes Simon to their sacred monument, while a father from another tribe of former head-hunters decides to make Simon part of the family. After presenting his 'father' with a fine pair of trousers, Simon is blessed with blood, presented with a short sword, and adopted. Simon discovers a matrilineal society where daughters are called 'iron butterflies', mass graves in the jungle, and islands where protesting fisherman have killed giant tortoises. He helps an orphaned orangutan into a tree, swims with sea-lions, fishes for piranha, climbs the equivalent of half-way up Everest, and discovers the city thought to be most at risk from volcanic eruptions. Simon's trip takes him through the nation suffering the worst humanitarian crisis in the Western hemisphere, and the African country that's endured the most violent conflict on the planet since the Second World War

The Equator 12,500 Years Ago?
There is a profound connection between Nazca and Angkor Wat. Were these two ancient sites on the old equator at opposite ends of the earth? Other sites on this proposed old equatorial line might hold the answer. Charles Hapgood advocated the Earth crust displacement theory in a book entitled The Path of the Poles. Hapgood supported this theory with geomagnetic and carbon dated evidence. In a book entitled When the Sky Fell, Rose and Rand Flem-Ath also advocate the Earth crust displacement theory, with additional geological and archeological evidence. Both of these works conclude that the North Pole was located in the Yukon, at 63° N 135° W, approximately 80,000 to100,000 years ago. This is about 250 miles Northeast of the axis point for the line of ancient sites at 59° 42' N 139° 17' W....

The equator runs through Brazil, Kenya, and Indonesia and traces on the plane right in the middle of the two poles. Hapgood supported this theory with geomagnetic and carbon dated evidence. In a book entitled When the Sky Fell, Rose and Rand Flem-Ath also advocate the Earth crust displacement theory, with additional geological and archeological evidence. Both of these works conclude that the North Pole was located in the Yukon, at 63° N 135° W, approximately 80,000 to100,000 years ago. This is about 250 miles Northeast of the axis point for the line of ancient sites at 59° 42' N 139° 17' W.
