This video shows how to connect Laptop to HDMI TV which supports HDMI 1080p and VGA. See me connect the Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5120 Laptop up to my 37" Vizio Wide Screen LCD TV. My Laptop is running Windows 8 so you can see how to connect Laptop to TV using HDMI Windows 8 & Windows 8.1. Even though I'm using a laptop with Windows 8.1 you can still see how to connect a laptop up to a Wide Screen television using a Windows 7 laptop. Any computer to TV HDMI can be connected using a good quality HDMI cable.
The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5120 is a 15.6" Windows 8.1 laptop that can handle 1080p HDMI video with ease. It connects to my Vizio 37" flat screen TV with ease. Performance was surprisingly excellent for a $300 laptop that I bought at Walmart.
When using a HDMI cable it becomes very easy to have both video and audio being pushed through one single HDMI cable connection. This becomes great for any business setup for presentations, meetings and/or watching movies for recreation and leisure time. The single HDMI cable connection is far better than using a VGA and audio cable. HDMI gives far better picture and sound quality than a VGA and audio connection.

See what you see on your tablet to your TV in just a few minutes. Using an HDMI cable allows you to connect tablet to monitor or TV monitor without having to deal with WiFi passwords or video casting.
Required Items:
1) Tablet
2) TV
3) Any unused HDMI port on your TV and a good quality HDMI cable that's" standard to standard", "standard to micro" or "standard to mini" that fits your HDMI port on your tablet.
4) Keep in mind that if you don't have a HDMI connector on your tablet than you will need a standard HDMI cable plus a "USB to standard HDMI adapter".
In essence, if you want to know how to connect your tablet to your TV, my tutorial shows you just what to do to make it happen. The steps you watch in my video on how to connect tablet to tv via hdmi is not the only way to connect your tablet to a TV. You can also do by using wireless Bluetooth and/or casting. An upcoming video will show these methods. But for now HDMI works super!
Some background information:
My Hisense Sero 7 Pro tablet shown in this video is a few years old that I bought at Walmart for around $130.00 but is able to handle 1080p HDMI or 720p HD video with no problems. It has a quad core Nvidia 1.3ghz that pushes video to my new 40" VIZIO E series LED smart TV via HDMI cable effortlessly. It's crisp and clean display 1280 x 800 HD IPS is great for any business setup for presentations, short work projects on airplane trips and watching movies for recreation on leisure time.

Recorded at the annual Graffiti event in downtown Eindhoven (The Netherlands) using the Panasonic GH2 and Atomos Ninja digital recorder. The Ninja is a GREAT sub-1000 euro ProRes422(HQ) HDMI recorder from http://www.atomos.com .
I've used the GH2's Smooth picture profile (all settings on -2 except for color saturation at -1) and Voigtlander Nokton 25mm/f0.95 lens with Fader ND filter. Aperture fixed at f2.8. Mixed 160 and 320 ISO.
Quality of the footage is stunning; it's a pity that i had to convert it to H.264 to upload to Vimeo and YouTube, plus the extra compression crap that is added during the conversion. You can download the H.264 input file (not the ProRes444, alas...).

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a proprietary audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data from an HDMI-compliant source device, such as a display controller, to a compatible computer monitor, video projector, digital television, or digital audio device. HDMI is a digital replacement for analog video standards.

The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card–sized single-board computers developed in England, United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools and developing countries. Update: Nikon issued a firmware update, now the D600's HDMI output works as it should, with 100% frame coverage. --- Comparison of the uncompressed Live View HDMI output of the Nikon D600 and the D800. At this point, the D600's video mode is limited due to a black frame around the HDMI video stream, similar to the D800's 95% HDMI output display size in the advanced system menu. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the aperture when Live View is activated and there is no live histogram. The D800 doesn't have these shortcomings. At the end of the video, you see a comparison between Ninja HDMI recordings from the same tripod with the same focal length and same settings to compare the black border and the field of view. I wouldn't suggest to use this to rate the cameras general video quality due to the strong compression, which is needed to upload to vimeo. GH2 HDMI output recorded with Atomos NINJA
Ninja Graffiti by Martin Beek / www.marvelsfilm.com Recorded at the annual Graffiti event in downtown Eindhoven (The Netherlands) using the Panasonic GH2 and Atomos Ninja digital recorder. The Ninja is a GREAT sub-1000 euro ProRes422(HQ) HDMI recorder from http://www.atomos.com . I've used the GH2's Smooth picture profile (all settings on -2 except for color saturation at -1) and Voigtlander Nokton 25mm/f0.95 lens with Fader ND filter. Aperture fixed at f2.8. Mixed 160 and 320 ISO. Quality of the footage is stunning; it's a pity that i had to convert it to H.264 to upload to Vimeo and YouTube, plus the extra compression crap that is added during the conversion. Nikon D600 & D800 - HDMI Output to Atomos Ninja
Update: Nikon issued a firmware update, now the D600's HDMI output works as it should, with 100% frame coverage. --- Comparison of the uncompressed Live View HDMI output of the Nikon D600 and the D800. At this point, the D600's video mode is limited due to a black frame around the HDMI video stream, similar to the D800's 95% HDMI output display size in the advanced system menu. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the aperture when Live View is activated and there is no live histogram. The D800 doesn't have these shortcomings. At the end of the video, you see a comparison between Ninja HDMI recordings from the same tripod with the same focal length and same settings to compare the black border and the field of view. This is a demo of a new HDMI input module from Auvidea that allows HDMI capture over the CSI-2 Input in the Raspberry Pi. OpenFrameworks 0.9.1 along with Jason Van Cleave's ofxRPiCameraVideoGrabber add-on and the Auvidea board allow the Raspberry Pi to act as an HDMI processor, capturing and outputting uncompressed HDMI. Wow I can't believe I ordered this thing and it came in soooo fast. Great quality too for such a cheap price. I've been wanting a very portable external LCD monitor that supports HDMI input (from my DSLR cameras) for a loooooong time. Prices for Ikan or Marshall LCD's typically float from $800 - $1500 dollars! When I saw this 7" HDMI LCD for around $200 dollars, I knew it was love at 'first price'. EOSHD 5D Mark III uncompressed HDMI test
This is a very short test simply to show whether the new firmware (1.2.1) gives you a step up in image quality via an uncompressed 1080p HDMI output. The output is clean of icons and Canon claim it is 4:2:2 but I don't think the sensor is actually sampling 4:2:2, so think of it as 4:2:0. This was recorded in 24p to the Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle. For the comparison to the internal codec I used IPB as I feel it gives the same if not a better image than the high bitrate ALL-I mode. Rode VideoMic + BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera + Atomos Ninja 2 HDMI Recorder
[Important Notes] Audio is from a Rode VideoMic Pro directly into the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera (no preamp). I think the audio performed quite well in this test. In essence, if you want to know how to connect your tablet to your TV, my tutorial shows you just what to do to make it happen. The steps you watch in my video on how to connect tablet to tv via hdmi is not the only way to connect your tablet to a TV. You can also do by using wireless Bluetooth and/or casting. An upcoming video will show these methods. But for now HDMI works super!
Some background information:
My Hisense Sero 7 Pro tablet shown in this video is a few years old that I bought at Walmart for around $130.00 but is able to handle 1080p HDMI or 720p HD video with no problems. It has a quad core Nvidia 1.3ghz that pushes video to my new 40" VIZIO E series LED smart TV via HDMI cable effortlessly. It's crisp and clean display 1280 x 800 HD IPS is great for any business setup for presentations, short work projects on airplane trips and watching movies for recreation on leisure time.

Android to TV HDMI cable connection really works and is just down right fun to use. Watch how to connect your tablet to your TV in this easy step by step video. See what you see on your tablet to your TV in just a few minutes. Using an HDMI cable allows you to connect tablet to monitor or TV monitor without having to deal with WiFi passwords or video casting.
Required Items:
1) Tablet
2) TV
3) Any unused HDMI port on your TV and a good quality HDMI cable that's" standard to standard", "standard to micro" or "standard to mini" that fits your HDMI port on your tablet.
4) Keep in mind that if you don't have a HDMI connector on your tablet than you will need a standard HDMI cable plus a "USB to standard HDMI adapter".
In essence, if you want to know how to connect your tablet to your TV, my tutorial shows you just what to do to make it happen. The steps you watch in my video on how to connect tablet to tv via hdmi is not the only way to connect your tablet to a TV. You can also do by using wireless Bluetooth and/or casting. An upcoming video will show these methods. But for now HDMI works super!
Some background information:
My Hisense Sero 7 Pro tablet shown in this video is a few years old that I bought at Walmart for around $130.00 but is able to handle 1080p HDMI or 720p HD video with no problems. It has a quad core Nvidia 1.3ghz that pushes video to my new 40" VIZIO E series LED smart TV via HDMI cable effortlessly. It's crisp and clean display 1280 x 800 HD IPS is great for any business setup for presentations, short work projects on airplane trips and watching movies for recreation on leisure time.

Recorded at the annual Graffiti event in downtown Eindhoven (The Netherlands) using the Panasonic GH2 and Atomos Ninja digital recorder. The Ninja is a GREAT sub-1000 euro ProRes422(HQ) HDMI recorder from http://www.atomos.com .
I've used the GH2's Smooth picture profile (all settings on -2 except for color saturation at -1) and Voigtlander Nokton 25mm/f0.95 lens with Fader ND filter. Aperture fixed at f2.8. Mixed 160 and 320 ISO.
Quality of the footage is stunning; it's a pity that i had to convert it to H.264 to upload to Vimeo and YouTube, plus the extra compression crap that is added during the conversion. You can download the H.264 input file (not the ProRes444, alas...).

Comparison of the uncompressed Live View HDMI output of the Nikon D600 and the D800.
At this point, the D600's video mode is limited due to a black frame around the HDMI video stream, similar to the D800's 95% HDMI output display size in the advanced system menu. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the aperture when Live View is activated and there is no live histogram.
The D800 doesn't have these shortcomings.
At the end of the video, you see a comparison between Ninja HDMI recordings from the same tripod with the same focal length and same settings to compare the black border and the field of view.
I wouldn't suggest to use this to rate the cameras general video quality due to the strong compression, which is needed to upload to vimeo.

This is a very short test simply to show whether the new firmware (1.2.1) gives you a step up in image quality via an uncompressed 1080p HDMI output. The output is clean of icons and Canon claim it is 4:2:2 but I don't think the sensor is actually sampling 4:2:2, so think of it as 4:2:0. This was recorded in 24p to the Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle. For the comparison to the internal codec I used IPB as I feel it gives the same if not a better image than the high bitrate ALL-I mode. I'll try again next time.

Quick comparison between 7D vs T2i how they handle output to monitor via HDMI output. A special thanks to Ben Eckstein for help. Wow I can't believe I ordered this thing and it came in soooo fast. Great quality too for such a cheap price. I've been wanting a very portable external LCD monitor that supports HDMI input (from my DSLR cameras) for a loooooong time. Prices for Ikan or Marshall LCD's typically float from $800 - $1500 dollars! When I saw this 7" HDMI LCD for around $200 dollars, I knew it was love at 'first price'. EOSHD 5D Mark III uncompressed HDMI test
This is a very short test simply to show whether the new firmware (1.2.1) gives you a step up in image quality via an uncompressed 1080p HDMI output. The output is clean of icons and Canon claim it is 4:2:2 but I don't think the sensor is actually sampling 4:2:2, so think of it as 4:2:0. This was recorded in 24p to the Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle. For the comparison to the internal codec I used IPB as I feel it gives the same if not a better image than the high bitrate ALL-I mode. Rode VideoMic + BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera + Atomos Ninja 2 HDMI Recorder
[Important Notes] Audio is from a Rode VideoMic Pro directly into the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera (no preamp). I think the audio performed quite well in this test. Audio + Video was captured from HDMI out into the Atomos Ninja 2. (I did not have an SD card in the camera). My Laptop is running Windows 8 so you can see how to connect Laptop to TV using HDMI Windows 8 & Windows 8.1. Even though I'm using a laptop with Windows 8.1 you can still see how to connect a laptop up to a Wide Screen television using a Windows 7 laptop. Any computer to TV HDMI can be connected using a good quality HDMI cable.
The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5120 is a 15.6" Windows 8.1 laptop that can handle 1080p HDMI video with ease. It connects to my Vizio 37" flat screen TV with ease. Performance was surprisingly excellent for a $300 laptop that I bought at Walmart.
When using a HDMI cable it becomes very easy to have both video and audio being pushed through one single HDMI cable connection. This becomes great for any business setup for presentations, meetings and/or watching movies for recreation and leisure time. The single HDMI cable connection is far better than using a VGA and audio cable. HDMI gives far better picture and sound quality than a VGA and audio connection.

Using an HDMI cable allows you to connect tablet to monitor or TV monitor without having to deal with WiFi passwords or video casting.
Required Items:
1) Tablet
2) TV
3) Any unused HDMI port on your TV and a good quality HDMI cable that's" standard to standard", "standard to micro" or "standard to mini" that fits your HDMI port on your tablet.
4) Keep in mind that if you don't have a HDMI connector on your tablet than you will need a standard HDMI cable plus a "USB to standard HDMI adapter".

My Hisense Sero 7 Pro tablet shown in this video is a few years old that I bought at Walmart for around $130.00 but is able to handle 1080p HDMI or 720p HD video with no problems. It has a quad core Nvidia 1.3ghz that pushes video to my new 40" VIZIO E series LED smart TV via HDMI cable effortlessly. It's crisp and clean display 1280 x 800 HD IPS is great for any business setup for presentations, short work projects on airplane trips and watching movies for recreation on leisure time.

I've used the GH2's Smooth picture profile (all settings on -2 except for color saturation at -1) and Voigtlander Nokton 25mm/f0.95 lens with Fader ND filter. Aperture fixed at f2.8. Mixed 160 and 320 ISO.
Quality of the footage is stunning; it's a pity that i had to convert it to H.264 to upload to Vimeo and YouTube, plus the extra compression crap that is added during the conversion. You can download the H.264 input file (not the ProRes444, alas...).

Comparison of the uncompressed Live View HDMI output of the Nikon D600 and the D800.
At this point, the D600's video mode is limited due to a black frame around the HDMI video stream, similar to the D800's 95% HDMI output display size in the advanced system menu. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the aperture when Live View is activated and there is no live histogram.

I wouldn't suggest to use this to rate the cameras general video quality due to the strong compression, which is needed to upload to vimeo.

Comparison of the uncompressed Live View HDMI output of the Nikon D600 and the D800.
At this point, the D600's video mode is limited due to a black frame around the HDMI video stream, similar to the D800's 95% HDMI output display size in the advanced system menu. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the aperture when Live View is activated and there is no live histogram.
The D800 doesn't have these shortcomings.

OpenFrameworks 0.9.1 along with Jason Van Cleave's ofxRPiCameraVideoGrabber add-on and the Auvidea board allow the Raspberry Pi to act as an HDMI processor, capturing and outputting uncompressed HDMI.

I've been wanting a very portable external LCD monitor that supports HDMI input (from my DSLR cameras) for a loooooong time. Prices for Ikan or Marshall LCD's typically float from $800 - $1500 dollars! When I saw this 7" HDMI LCD for around $200 dollars, I knew it was love at 'first price'.

The output is clean of icons and Canon claim it is 4:2:2 but I don't think the sensor is actually sampling 4:2:2, so think of it as 4:2:0. This was recorded in 24p to the Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle. For the comparison to the internal codec I used IPB as I feel it gives the same if not a better image than the high bitrate ALL-I mode. I had a hard time judging focus from the LCD screen. I put my trust in focus peaking and I notice I was off on many shots. Also for the wide shots 7-14mm & Rokinon 8mm I was unable to use an ND Filter (no threads on these lenses) so I tried stopping down the aperture which caused the images to be very soft (and look like crap). I'll try again next time.
