Cláudio Taffarel

Cláudio André Mergen Taffarel (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈklawdʒu tafaˈɾɛw]; born 8 May 1966) is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and the goalkeeping coach of Galatasaray SK and the Brazilian national team.

During an 18-year career he played professionally for five clubs, including Parma, Atlético Mineiro and Galatasaray.

The recipient of more than 100 caps for Brazil, Taffarel helped the national team win the 1994 World Cup, also appearing in other eight major international tournaments over the course of one full decade.

Club career

Born in Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul, Taffarel began his career playing for Sport Club Internacional but only appeared in 14 Série A games during his five-year spell, being however awarded the Golden Ball award for the 1988 season. In 1990 he moved abroad and joined Parma A.C. in Italy, freshly promoted to Serie A for the first time in its history; he proceeded to appear in all 34 league games in the following season as the Emilia-Romagna club finished in sixth position and qualified to the UEFA Cup.

César Henrique Martins

César Henrique Martins (born 28 December 1992), known simply as César, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Flamengo, on loan from Portuguese club Benfica.

Club career

Born in Mairinque, in the São Paulo state, César started competing in hometown club Atlético Sorocaba in the Campeonato Paulista, where his performances sparked the interest of Ponte Preta which signed him on a loan deal on 26 April 2013.

At Ponte Preta, César assumed a starting position, helping the team reach the 2013 Copa Sudamericana Finals, lost to Lanús, moving permanently to Macaca side in December 2014. As the Brazilian team sought to benefit financially from recent performances, on 2 July 2014, they announced that César had signed a five-year deal with Portuguese champions Benfica for an undisclosed fee.

On 14 December 2014, he debuted in the Primeira Liga, in a Benfica away win at Porto (0–2), replacing injured Luisão. In late January 2015, he suffered a muscular injury, missing several months, only reappearing on 2 May 2015, when he played for reserve side in a home win against (1–0) Braga B in Segunda Liga.
