The Report

The Report (Persian: گزارش‎‎, Gozāresh) is a 1977 Iranian drama film directed by Abbas Kiarostami and starring Academy Award-nominated actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.

Plot summary

A civil servant at the Ministry of Finance, Mahmad Firuzkui, is accused of taking bribes, at the same time as his marriage is crumbling and his wife is threatening to leave him.

The Report Card

The Report Card is a children's novel by Andrew Clements, first published in 2004. The story is narrated by a 5th-grade girl, Nora Rose Rowley. Nora is s genius but does not tell anyone for fear that she will be thought of as "different".

Plot summary

11-year-old Nora has been secretly hiding her extraordinary intelligence from her parents and teachers, and still trying her best to do badly in school to prove to herself as "nothing more than average." She shows no concern over it and gets grounded by her parents. However, after researching things on the Internet in the school's library, Nora accidentally exposes herself and is forced to tell the truth to the librarian, Mrs. Byrne, who is fascinated by her intelligence. Then, she meets Dr. Trindler, who gives her an IQ test, on which she receives a score of 188. After that, Nora unintentionally throws a tantrum before her classmates, her talents finally uncovered. She is forced to discuss and give good ideas during P.E. class though she has trouble doing so.

Report card

A report card, or just report in British English, communicates a student's performance academically. In most places, the report card is issued by the school to the student or the student's parents twice to four times yearly. A typical report card uses a grading scale to determine the quality of a student's school work. Throughout North America, the grading scale consists of grades scored in classes taken by the student.

Report cards are now frequently issued in automated form by computers and may be mailed to parents and students. Traditional school report cards contained a section for teachers to record individual comments about the student's work and behavior. Some automated card systems provide for teachers' including such comments, but others limit the report card to grades only.

The term "Report card" is used to describe any systematic listing and evaluation of something for information. For example, many states in the United States have their education departments issue report cards on schools' performance. Political advocacy groups will often issue "report cards" on legislators, "grading" them based on their stances on issues.

Thanthi TV

Thanthi TV ( is a 24-hour Tamil news satellite television channel based in Chennai, India. It is owned by Dina Thanthi.

History

NDTV Hindu was launched on 16 May 2009, owned by NDTV (51%) and The Hindu Group (49%). It was started as a Chennai city-specific English news and entertainment channel, broadcast only in Chennai.

After the Dina Thanthi group took over NDTV Hindu, it rebranded the channel as Thanthi TV. Initially it was a Chennai city specific channel but after the acquisition process was completed, it was rebranded and relaunched on 13 November 2012 as a 24-hour Tamil news channel which serves and broadcasts to Tamil Nadu, India.
