The Crown Court of England and Wales is, together with the High Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal, one of the constituent parts of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. It is the higher court of first instance in criminal cases; however, for some purposes the Crown Court is hierarchically subordinate to the High Court and its Divisional Courts.
The Crown Court sits in around 92 locations in England and Wales. The administration of the Crown Court is conducted through HM Courts Service. Previously conducted across six circuits (Midland, Northern, North Eastern, South Eastern, Wales & Chester and Western), HM Courts and Tribunals Service is now divided into seven regions: Midlands, North East, North West, South East, South West, London and Wales. The Wales region was identified separately, having regard to the devolved legislative powers of the Welsh Assembly Government. When the Crown Court sits in the City of London it is known as the Central Criminal Court. The "Central Criminal Court" at the Old Bailey, originally established by its own Act of Parliament, is a Crown Court centre, and is the venue at which many of the most serious criminal cases are heard.
A court is a tribunal, often as governmental institution, with the authority to adjudicate legal disputes between parties and carry out the administration of justice in civil, criminal, and administrative matters in accordance with the rule of law. In both common law and civil law legal systems, courts are the central means for dispute resolution, and it is generally understood that all persons have an ability to bring their claims before a court. Similarly, the rights of those accused of a crime include the right to present a defense before a court.
The system of courts that interprets and applies the law is collectively known as the judiciary. The place where a court sits is known as a venue. The room where court proceedings occur is known as a courtroom, and the building as a courthouse; court facilities range from simple and very small facilities in rural communities to large buildings in cities.
The practical authority given to the court is known as its jurisdiction (Latin jus dicere) – the court's power to decide certain kinds of questions or petitions put to it. According to William Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, a court is constituted by a minimum of three parties: the actor or plaintiff, who complains of an injury done; the reus or defendant, who is called upon to make satisfaction for it, and the judex or judicial power, which is to examine the truth of the fact, to determine the law arising upon that fact, and, if any injury appears to have been done, to ascertain and by its officers to apply a legal remedy. It is also usual in the superior courts to have barristers, and attorneys or counsel, as assistants, though, often, courts consist of additional barristers, bailiffs, reporters, and perhaps a jury.
Capital punishment, death penalty or execution is government sanctioned punishment by death. The sentence is referred to as a death sentence. Crimes that can result in a death penalty are known as capital crimes or capital offences, such as first degree murder, terrorism, and espionage. The term capital originates from the Latin capitalis, literally "regarding the head" (referring to execution by beheading). There are many execution methods; one widely practiced form historically that is the most common modern method used in jurisdictions with capital punishment is hanging.
Capital punishment has, in the past, been practiced by most societies, as a punishment for criminals, and political or religious dissidents. Historically, the carrying out of the death sentence was often accompanied by torture, and executions were most often public.
Thirty-six countries actively practice capital punishment, 103 countries have completely abolished it de jure for all crimes, 6 have abolished it for ordinary crimes only (while maintaining it for special circumstances such as war crimes), and 50 have abolished it de facto (have not used it for at least ten years and/or are under moratorium). No Western country still uses the death penalty except the United States.

Crown Court (TV Series) A Working Girl: (1976) At an earlier trial Sylvia Turner was acquitted of soliciting on Fulchester High Street. However she now finds herself on trial accused of perjury. The Prosecution claim that Miss Turner lied when she said in court that she was not soliciting on that occasion - she is a known prostitute and propositioned a man. She does not deny that she has worked that area as a prostitute and continues to engage in prostitution but says she no longer works the streets and her exchange with the man on that day was banter and not a sexual invitation. - Written by Alan Briscoe GREETINGS FROM : https://www.singapore50.sg/ !!!! There are MANY MORE such interesting stories in this blog!! ================================================== Season 2, Episode 133: Robin and his Juliet: Part 1 Original Air Date—14 November 1973 School teacher Juliet Tomlin is accused of indecently assaulting one of her 15 year old pupils. She denies the charge, but it has come to light that the pupil, named in court only as Robin, recently spent two nights at the house of the teacher. Were the pair conducting an illicit affair, or did they simply become the victims of misplaced playground and staffroom gossip?
Following relegation Fulchester Rovers manager Aleksander Gruda is sacked. However he claims players Skelhorne, McIver and Appledene deliberately played badly in order to achieve this end. All three now stand trial for conspiracy. Maureen Lipman and David Ashford star as the prosecuting and defence Counsels. Michael Craze, well known for his role as companion Ben Jackson to William Hartnell's Doctor in Doctor Who, also appears as witness Mick Pollitson.
The last Crown Court upload! :( This is the last of the stories I have available, I'm afraid. Alan Stockwell (Maurice O'Connell) stands trial for the murder of Charles Robins. Some familiar faces guest star here, namely Arthur English, Neil McCarthy, Maurice O'Connell and John Abineri (familiar to Doctor Who fans, this time without a wig). Regulars William Mervyn, Charles Keating and Jonathan Elsom also star.
See the creature - unconscious
squeeze and lean - they sleep
cathed in nature`s paradise
at spring of beauty - they rise
feeling mood - or a disease
always tested - and deceive
deceive about - brightness - darkness
storm and breeze - alternating
fast - slow
to unconsciousness
expunge the human mistakes
unconsciousness
make success and trespass
-repeat-
dreams become reality
saw the doctor`s face laughing
arms are broken, one leg is remove
the bain is handing on - threads
calling the god
who direct all mortals
cry for the CROWN COURT
who has white garments
cry for the CROWN COURT
who has pungent tools
calling the god
to stop the inhuman
- killing, killing, killing
torture, torture, torture
cry for ...
... to stop the inhuman killing
