Nothing Else is a studio album by American electronic musician Lorn. It was released on Brainfeeder on June 7, 2010. The album was mastered by Clark.

Reception

Euan Ferguson of The Skinny gave the album 4 stars out of 5, describing it as "[the] soundtrack to an unfilmed Edgar Allen [sic] Poe nightmare." Si Truss of Fact noted "its melancholy intensity and its sheer aggressive force" as "an effect achieved by the combination of Lorn's meticulous, clever production and some aggressive mastering care of UK producer Chris Clark." Larry Fitzmaurice of Pitchfork Media described "Lorn's beat-programming style" as "elegant in design but brutal and harsh in practice."

Nothing Else Matters

"Nothing Else Matters" is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released in 1992 as the third single from their self-titled fifth studio album, Metallica. The song peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart as well as top-ten positions on many European charts. "Nothing Else Matters" was featured as a playable track in the music video game Guitar Hero: Metallica. Recognized as one of Metallica's best known and most popular songs, it has become a staple in live performances. The song has been covered over forty times.

History

Singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield wrote the song (credited to Hetfield/Ulrich) while he was on the phone with his then girlfriend. Since he held the phone with one hand, he plucked the four open strings of a standard E-minor chord with the other, which eventually made up the first two bars of the song. The lyrics, which talk about being "so close, no matter how far", were also dedicated to his girlfriend, indicating the bond they shared even when Hetfield was on tour. Initially, the song was not meant to be released, as Hetfield had written it for himself, but after drummer Lars Ulrich heard it, it was considered for the album.

Mr Probz

Dennis Princewell Stehr (born 15 May 1984), better known by his stage name Mr Probz, is a Dutch singer, songwriter, producer, actor and rapper. He is known for his raps, songs and choruses in both Dutch and English. In 2013, he released the song "Waves", which was remixed in 2014 by Robin Schulz, becoming an international hit.

Career

2010–13: The Treatment

In 2010 Mr Probz was nominated for a BNN/State Award in the category "Best Artist". In 2011, Mr Probz had a Dutch single, "Meisje luister", in collaboration with Kleine Viezerik. It reached #1 on the FunX Hip Hop Chart. On 16 September 2013, Mr Probz released his debut album The Treatment for free through SoundCloud. He also released the album on iTunes. The album peaked to number 12 on the Dutch Albums Chart. The album includes the singles "I'm Right Here", "Turning Tables" and "Gold Days".

2013–present: "Waves"

In November 2013 he released the single "Waves", becoming a top 10 hit in the Netherlands. The song was also charted in Australia, Belgium and New Zealand. The song was remixed by German DJ and producer Robin Schulz, it was released on 4 February 2014 in North America and 7 February 2014 in Europe. The remix propelled the song to greater success, topping the charts in Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and peaking within the top 10 of the charts in Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, and the United States. He featured on 50 Cent's single "Twisted", which was released in May 2014. "Nothing Really Matters", was released in September 2014 to critical acclaim. He featured on Professor Green's single "Little Secrets", which was released in December 2014. In 2014, Mr Probz collaborated with Dutch DJ Hardwell on a song titled "Birds Fly", which was included on Hardwell's debut album United We Are, released in January 2015.

Nothing Really Matters

"Nothing Really Matters" is a song by American singer Madonna from her seventh studio album Ray of Light (1998). The song was written by Madonna and Patrick Leonard and production was handled by Madonna, William Orbit and Marius De Vries. The song was released as the album's fifth and final single on March 2, 1999, by Maverick. The song was written about Madonna's creative process where people had dissected and judged her. According to Madonna, the song was inspired by her daughter, Lourdes. "Nothing Really Matters" is a dance-oriented song that influences ambient and techno elements.

The song received generally positive reception from many music critics, who praised Madonna's lyrics for being inspirational towards her fans and family. After the release, the song achieved modest chart success in the US, where it peaked at number 93 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Madonna's lowest charting single in the chart to date. However, the song managed to peak at number one on the Hot Dance Club Play. Internationally, "Nothing Really Matters" peaked inside the top ten in Canada, UK and Italy, while reaching number one in Spain.
