White House

The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. It has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800.

The house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban and built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia Creek sandstone in the Neoclassical style. When Thomas Jefferson moved into the house in 1801, he (with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe) expanded the building outward, creating two colonnades that were meant to conceal stables and storage. However, in 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and charring much of the exterior. Reconstruction began almost immediately, and President James Monroe moved into the partially reconstructed Executive Residence in October 1817. Construction continued with the addition of the South Portico in 1824 and the North in 1829.

Anthony Scaramucci

Anthony Scaramucci (born January 6, 1964) is an American financier, entrepreneur and author. He is the founder and a co-managing partner of investment firm SkyBridge Capital. Scaramucci is also the host of Wall Street Week, an investment news show operated by SkyBridge. He is also a regular contributor to the Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel. In 2011, Scaramucci was the recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award New York Award in the Financial Services category.

Early life and education

Scaramucci was born in Long Island, New York and had a middle-class upbringing. His father was a construction worker. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Career

After graduating from law school, Scaramucci began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked from 1989 to 1996 and held positions in its Investment Banking, Equities and Private Wealth Management divisions. In 1996, Scaramucci left Goldman to launch Oscar Capital Management with his colleague Andrew Boszhardt. In 2001, Oscar Capital was sold to Neuberger Berman and upon Neuberger Berman’s sale to Lehman Brothers in 2003, Scaramucci served as a managing director in its Investment Management division. In 2005, Scaramucci founded SkyBridge Capital, a global alternative investment firm, where he currently serves as co-managing partner.

The year 2010 is pronounced either "two thousand (and) ten", or "twenty-ten". 2010 was the first year to have a wide variation in pronunciation, as the years 2000 to 2009 were generally pronounced "two thousand (and) one, two, three, etc." as opposed to the less common "twenty-oh-_".

Huckabee

Huckabee was a TV political commentary program on Fox News hosted by former Republican Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. It premiered September 27, 2008, at 8 PM EDT.

It was announced on January 3, 2015 that Huckabee would step down from hosting "Huckabee" to possibly make a run in the 2016 presidential election however he said he would not make a decision until Spring 2015.

Schedule

Barring pre-emption, new episodes of Huckabee regularly aired on Saturdays at 8 PM ET. Repeats were shown on the following Sunday (the next day) at 3 AM, 8 PM and 11 PM ET.

Format

The show was shot before a live studio audience. Huckabee starts with an opening monologue discussing issues of the day, then opens the floor to field several questions from the audience. The show also features one or more guests as well as a panel of commentators.

Huckabee maintains a genial style as host and speaker, "markedly less combative" than other commentators on the Fox network. Tonal differences aside, he believes the show's conservative political content is harmonious with other Fox hosts past and present such as Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, saying "I'm certainly on the same ideological spectrum" as them.
