Adam Cohen may refer to:
Adam Ezra Cohen is Professor of Chemistry and Chemistry Biology and of Physics at Harvard University. He has received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and been selected by MIT Technology Review to the TR35 list of the world's top innovators under 35.
Cohen completed a postdoctoral fellowship in chemistry at Stanford University in 2007. He received a Ph.D. in experimental physics from Stanford in 2006 with W.E. Moerner and a Ph.D in theoretical physics from Cambridge University, where he was a Marshall Scholar, in 2003. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in chemistry and physics. He attended Hunter College High School, a gifted magnet school in New York City, where he graduated first in his class. He is the son of Joel E. Cohen, Abby Rockefeller Mauze Professor of Populations at Rockefeller University in New York.
Cohen's research combines building physical tools to probe biological molecules, using nanofabrication, lasers, microfluidics, electronics and biochemistry to generate data. His current research includes single-molecule spectroscopy of microbial rhodopsins, the motion of bacteria in mucus, and new magneto-optical and chiroptical effects in organic molecules. In 2010 and 2011, Cohen taught Physical Sciences 1, Harvard's introductory course in chemistry and physics, with Hongkun Park.
Adam is a common masculine given name.
The personal name Adam derives from the Hebrew noun ha adamah meaning "the ground" or "earth". It is still a Hebrew given name, and its Quranic and Biblical usage has ensured that it is also a common name in all countries which draw on these traditions. It is particularly common in Christian- and Muslim-majority countries. In most languages its spelling is the same, although the pronunciation varies somewhat. Adán is the Spanish form of this name.
Adam is also a surname in many countries, although it is not as common in English as its derivative Adams (sometimes spelled Addams). In other languages there are similar surnames derived from Adam, such as Adamo, Adamov, Adamowicz, Adamski etc.
In Arabic, Adam (آدم) means "made from the earth/mud/clay".
Adam is a fictional character; from the Ravenloft campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game.
Adam was a major character in the 1994 novel, Mordenheim, written by Chet Williamson.
Adam is the darklord of Lamordia. Known as Mordenheim's Monster or the Creature, he is an extremely intelligent and nimble dread flesh golem, based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Adam is the most successful creation of Dr. Victor Mordenheim in his research into the creation of life, albeit the one that causes him grief unmeasured. Adam reduced the doctor's wife Elise to a vegetative state and apparently murdered their adopted daughter Eva.
The two are inextricably bound together: Dr. Mordenheim has Adam's immortality, and in return Adam shares the doctor's anguish.
Usually hidden from sight, Adam is believed to spend most of his time on the Isle of Agony, part of the archipelago known as the Finger.
"Adam" is the fifth episode of the second series of British science fiction television series Torchwood, which was broadcast by BBC Two on 13 February 2008.
Torchwood encounter an alien, Adam, who has the ability of memory manipulation. By implanting false memories into each team member, making them believe they have known him for three years, Adam's manipulation changes the team dramatically: Gwen loses all memory of Rhys, Jack is haunted by memories of his lost brother Gray, from whom he was separated as a child on the Boeshane Peninsula, Toshiko has become more confident and believes that she and Adam are in love, and Owen has been manipulated into thinking he is more or less a geek in comparison to his actual self, and madly in love with Toshiko.
After reading his diary, Ianto becomes disturbed when he notices there is no mention of Adam. Adam confronts him and implants false memories into Ianto’s mind, leading Ianto to believe he is a serial killer. Jack returns to find Ianto deeply upset but refuses to believe that Ianto is a killer. The pair search Torchwood's files, discovering the truth after seeing footage of Adam implanting the memories into the team. Jack discovers that the team needs to take amnesia pills, to erase their memories of the past forty-eight hours. He gathers the team and asks each person to try to recall who they really are. Each member takes their pill, Owen looking at Tosh and giving a small smile.
Verse1
I burned for you
broke bread with you
I even gave you all my loot
At home for you
no calls from you
I feel like you
done worked a root
I took the bull
You took your time
Made love to me
You blew my mind
I pulled from you
You got me high
It's over now
and I'll tell you why
Hook
I know what love is
I know what love is

Verse 2
I cared for you
I cried for you

All lies from you
Broken in two
Wanted to leave
I stayed for you
So fool for you
On pause for you
Said it was love
Now what's the truth?
Confused by you
You're attitude
These silly games
You're changing moods
Hook

I know I
I know I
