Eddie Hall

Edward "Eddie" Hall (born 15 January 1988) is an English professional strongman competitor, notable for having won on multiple occasions both the UK's Strongest Man, and England's Strongest Man titles. He has also competed at the World's Strongest Man and is the current world record holder in the deadlift with straps.

Biography

Eddie Hall was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme. He began working in the garage at the Market Drayton’s Robert Wiseman Dairies site as a mechanic from 2008. He trained and competed as a body-builder and entered the strongman circuit having done a strongman's camp at the Iceman gym in Stoke-on-Trent. In 2010 his fellow Staffordshire competitor, Dave Meer of Tamworth, had to drop out of the England championships organised by Elite Strongman because of injury. He arranged for Hall to take his place and led to Hall making it into the 2010 finals which he won on his first attempt by half a point.

Earning a place at the UK Strongest Man 2011 competition in Belfast which ended with Eddie Hall as the UK’s Strongest Man, with Ken Nowicki in 2nd and Rich Smith in 3rd. His win was helped by Hall setting a new national record in the "Viking Hold", hanging on to 20 kg axles in each hand at full stretch for one minute and 18 seconds. Hall tore tendons in an arm during the competition, but was hopeful of a spot at the World's Strongest Man in September. However, his improved ranking could only guarantee a spot for 2012, and he did not compete at WSM in 2011.

World's Strongest Man

The World's Strongest Man is a strongman competition. Organized by TWI, an IMG Media company, it is broadcast around the end of December each year. Competitors qualify based on placing in the top three at the four to eight Giants Live events each year.

The current event sponsor is the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California; other past sponsors include Tonka, Met-rx, and PartyPoker.com. The event has a number of rival and parallel competitions with which it is sometimes confused, including the Strongman Super Series, the now defunct IFSA Strongman World Championships (run from 2005-2007 after the International Federation of Strength Athletes parted company with WSM in 2004) and Strongman Champions League.

History

1970s–1980s

The concept behind "The World's Strongest Men", as it was originally named, was developed in 1977 for CBS by Langstar Inc. David Webster, a Scot who later received an OBE for his services to sport, was the head coordinator of the competition from its inception. Dr Douglas Edmunds, seven-times Scottish shot and discus champion and twice world caber champion worked with Webster and when Webster retired Edmunds took over. These two men were responsible for inviting the competitors and choosing the events. In the meantime, in 1982, CBS sold the rights to the BBC, who in turn sold the rights to TWI. In 1987, the WSM was not held for the only time since its inception. In that year the first and only non-team Pure Strength competition was held but it was not part of the WSM franchise.

Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest

Dragon Ball Z the Movie: The World's Strongest (Japanese: ドラゴンボールZ　この世で一番強いヤツ, Hepburn: Doragon Bōru Zetto: Kono Yo de Ichiban Tsuyoi Yatsu), also known by Toei's own English title The Strongest Guy in the World, is the second feature movie in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It was originally released in Japan on March 10, 1990, between episodes 39 and 40 of DBZ, at the "Toei Manga Matsuri" film festival along with the second Akuma-kun movie (Welcome To Devil Land) and the 1990 movie version of Sally the Witch. It was released on VHS and DVD in North America on May 26, 1998, with an English voice dub, produced by Pioneer Home Entertainment in association with Funimation Entertainment. Pioneer's dub used the original Ocean Productions voice cast of the TV series. The film was later re-dubbed by Funimation's in-house voice cast and released again to DVD on November 14, 2006 in a box set titled "First Strike," which included Dead Zone and The Tree of Might. It was later remastered and released in a Double Feature set with Dead Zone on Blu-ray and DVD on May 27, 2008. The film was released to DVD again on November 1, 2011 in a remastered box set containing the first five Dragon Ball Z movies.

Mumbai. Andheri Police took action arresting 15 boys accused of raping and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old for the past one year. The year long rape torture came to an end after the victim spoke about it to his friend two days ago after feeling ‘unbearable pain’ since the last assault on June 26.
