After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 1957, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and was then spotted by Laurence Olivier who invited him to join the Royal National Theatre. In 1968, he got his break in film in The Lion in Winter, playing Richard I.
Considered to be one of the greatest living actors, Hopkins is well known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, its sequel Hannibal, and the prequel Red Dragon. Other notable films include The Mask of Zorro, The Bounty, Meet Joe Black, The Elephant Man, Magic, 84 Charing Cross Road, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Legends of the Fall, Thor, The Remains of the Day, Amistad, Nixon, The World's Fastest Indian, Instinct, and Fracture.
Along with his Academy Award, Hopkins has won three BAFTA Awards, two Emmys, and the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003, and was made a Fellow of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2008.

He hires her - she's good with numbers - and she promptly falls for him, even though he's married to a woman who seems to do nothing but spend his money. Beth tries to entice Dink whose wife, Tulip, tells him to choose; he does and promptly goes on a losing streak. Plot: Appropriately named "Zoo", the film represents how some just happen to live a wild life. Based in Newark, New Jersey, Terrance "Mustaffa" Dent was a straight laced teenager until he discovered how easily money could be obtained in the streets. His love of easy money led him to become the founder and leader of a drug ring called "Zoo Crew", which laundered drug money throughout a slew of businesses all over the city. The movie differs from other gangster movies as the main character starts to see how he could actually do good in the community, instead of potentially destroying it. The film represents a man's inner struggle from both sides of the good vs. evil spectrum.

One of my fahvorite scenes from a movie no one's ever heard of Corky is going insane and can't make it
A pretty creepy movie trailer from the 1978 Movie, "Magic" by Joseph E. Levine. The Puppet, "Fats" presents this terrifying love story which scared some if not many kids then. To me, it was weird rather than creepy.

For more info on this film and our restoration techniques visit retrodisneyworld.com/imageworks In 1972 my grandparents took a road trip from New Jersey to Florida...armed with AAA highlighted maps of the I-95 east coast corridor they stopped at South of the Border, Marineland, Busch Gardens, Walt Disney World and a host of other attractions. To this day I still have the 3-ring binder that contains the handwritten account of their entire itinerary; hand written mileage logs, fuel stops, and notes. For many years I've had in my possession 700 feet of Super8 film taken by my grandparents that documented their entire trip. Recently, I had the footage converted and began to apply my film restoration techniques to the transfer. It's wonderful to see my late grandparents again and all the place...

The seller had no information of what was on the film, so I took a chance and bought it...I kept my fingers crossed that it wasn't laced with character greetings! The short 3 minute film is like most that were taken years ago; The family full of excitement boards the monorail, enters the Magic Kingdom, sees a few attractions and leaves before the sun has set. When Super8 film was king, one cartridge of film, just three precious minutes, is often all most people had to record their memories. In this home movie it is quite evident t...
"Utah 1978" by Inflatable Deities is a series of vignettes that combine the sensibilities of video art, sketch television comedy, and home videos. "Serial Breaker" follows the character, Marygold, as she naively wreaks havoc on an otherwise peaceful neighbourhood. In the sic-fi world of "Das Baby", two club-goers get stuck in a time loop. Set to the warped soundtrack of Bobby Darin’s "Dream Lover", the 3rd sketch opens on the humble Utah dwelling of Frankie and her niece, Finessa. Chaos, sinister magic, and miracles ensue when Frankie's Christmas Leg goes missing... -- Video commissioned for SAW Video Association's 30th Anniversary project: Jog and Shuttle. The project asked 4 video artists to create a work using 30-year-old analog video equipment.
Me operating the so called "Anderson" Optical Printer, sometime in early 1978. This Optical Printer was used to create the famous "parting of the Red Sea" effect in the 1956 version of "The Ten Commandments" which was shot in VistaVision. Years later it was purchased by Industrial Light & Magic and used in the production of "Star Wars" optical effects. In this particular scene, I am working on the original TV series "Battlestar Galactica". For this production, the original VistaVision camera has been replaced with a 35mm camera.

We've had this film completed and uploaded for a number of months now, but other projects forced us to back burner this release for a little bit. We're between podcast episodes so this is now a good as time as any to let the world in on this little gem. Our 1978 visit to the Magic Kingdom starts wwith footage in Adventureland of JP & The Silver Stars, the steel drum band in permanent residency for many years in this location. A brief parade shot of Pluto and Goofy (and a cupcake) yields to a flood of people exiting the riverboat and some character greetings (notice the costume improvements today over the visible headpiece on Chip n Dale). Racing along the Tomorrowland Speedway we see some of the old posters for famous race...
Over the past year of so we've been restoring many Magic Kingdom films...each of which lends to some amazing discovery that we haven't seen before. However, when you discover a film that includes footage from MK and River Country you tend to get very excited, and then when you realize there is more RC footage than MK you really get pumped...and realize some took an expensive (for the time) camera into a water park, positioned themselves above rides, on the beach and possibly in the water to capture some amazing footage. Ok so what is in this film? First we start off with a slow pan from the tower windows at the Royal Inn (it became the Hotel Royal Plaza and is now The B Resort). The footage starts at Empress Lilly and pans over past the preview center building and then a quick zoom over a...

On the bright side this film does open with a nice shot across Seven Seas Lagoon, the ferryboat ride over to the Magic Kingdom and then some general shots in and around the park. The fife and drum corp does their thing and then Mickey's 50th birthday marches down into the hub area. Technical Details: This film had tons of grain, and we did some look ahead frame interpolation to help reduce the grain even more. The color was in rough shape, and we bought it back to a general even color across the whol...
Don Van Vliet born January 15, 1941 – December 17, 2010) was an American musician, singer-songwriter and artist best known by the stage name Captain Beefheart. His musical work was conducted with a rotating ensemble of musicians called the Magic Band (1965–1982), with whom he recorded 13 studio albums. Noted for his powerful singing voice with its wide range, Van Vliet also played the harmonica, saxophone and numerous other wind instruments. His music blended rock, blues and psychedelia with avant-garde and contemporary experimental composition. Beefheart was also known for exercising an almost dictatorial control over his supporting musicians, and for often constructing myths about his life.

I don't do this sort of thing, I said
As he leaned in and ran his fingers through my hair
I could see he didn't believe me
And I could tell from his sweet smile he didn't care
He slipped his hand under my skirt
And for a moment I looked deep into his eyes
I didn't see much in there
Apart from an emptiness I sadly recognized
Let me take you far away from here, he said
I know some magic that is sure to pick you up
I thought of me alone in my cold hotel bed
And I said, yeah, well, why not
He took me back to where he lives
We had a drink and tried to start a friendly chat
But neither of us felt much like talking
About the lives that we were there to forget
And so he laid me on the bed
And we undressed; the street lights sliced us through the blinds
His skin felt warm against my body
But my body couldn't hold on to my mind
I drifted far away above this stranger's room
My thoughts walked down the crowded streets of yesterday
Until he stopped and asked if he had come to soon
I shook my head and turned away
We laid a little while in silence
‘Til I got up, got dressed and splashed cold water at my face
I better go, I said politely
