Nothing is a pronoun denoting the absence of anything. Nothing is a pronoun associated with nothingness. In nontechnical uses, nothing denotes things lacking importance, interest, value, relevance, or significance.Nothingness is the state of being nothing, the state of nonexistence of anything, or the property of having nothing.
Some would consider the study of "nothing" to be foolish, a typical response of this type is voiced by Giacomo Casanova (1725–1798) in conversation with his landlord, one Dr. Gozzi, who also happens to be a priest,
However, "nothingness" has been treated as a serious subject worthy of research for a very long time. In philosophy, to avoid linguistic traps over the meaning of "nothing", a phrase such as not-being is often employed to unambiguously make clear what is being discussed.
One of the earliest western philosophers to consider nothing as a concept was Parmenides (5th century BC) who was a Greek philosopher of the monist school. He argued that "nothing" cannot exist by the following line of reasoning: To speak of a thing, one has to speak of a thing that exists. Since we can speak of a thing in the past, it must still exist (in some sense) now and from this concludes that there is no such thing as change. As a corollary, there can be no such things as coming-into-being, passing-out-of-being, or not-being.
Alan Wilson Watts (6 January 1915 – 16 November 1973) was a British-born American philosopher, writer, and speaker, best known as an interpreter and populariser of Eastern philosophy for a Western audience. Born in Chislehurst, England, he moved to the United States in 1938 and began Zen training in New York. Pursuing a career, he attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, where he received a master's degree in theology. Watts became an Episcopal priest in 1945, then left the ministry in 1950 and moved to California, where he joined the faculty of the American Academy of Asian Studies.
Watts gained a large following in the San Francisco Bay Area while working as a volunteer programmer at KPFA, a Pacifica Radio station in Berkeley. Watts wrote more than 25 books and articles on subjects important to Eastern and Western religion, introducing the then-burgeoning youth culture to The Way of Zen (1957), one of the first bestselling books on Buddhism. In Psychotherapy East and West (1961), Watts proposed that Buddhism could be thought of as a form of psychotherapy and not a religion. He considered "Nature, Man, and Woman" (1958) to be, "from a literary point of view - the best book I have ever written." He also explored human consciousness, in the essay "The New Alchemy" (1958), and in the book The Joyous Cosmology (1962).
Living Colour is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1984. Stylistically, the band's music is a creative fusion influenced by heavy metal, punk rock, funk, jazz, hip hop and alternative rock. Their lyrics range from personal to political.
Living Colour rose to fame with their debut album Vivid in 1988. Although the band scored a number of hits, they are best remembered for their signature song "Cult of Personality", which won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1990. They were also named Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. After disbanding in 1995, Living Colour reunited in late 2000.
English-born guitarist Vernon Reid had formed a number of bands, and after a few years, he formed Living Colour in New York in 1984. Reid assembled a number of bands under the name Living Colour from 1984 to 1986. They grew out of the Black Rock Coalition, a non-profit organization founded by (among others) Reid for black musicians interested in playing rock music. Reid was well known on the downtown New York jazz scenes because of his tenure in Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society.

Why is there something rather than nothing? And what does ‘nothing’ really mean? More than a philosophical musing, understanding nothing may be the key to unlocking deep mysteries of the universe, from dark energy to why particles have mass. Journalist John Hockenberry hosts Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek, esteemed cosmologist John Barrow, and leading physicists Paul Davies and George Ellis as they explore physics, philosophy and the nothing they share. http://adyashanti.org - Adyashanti delves into the true nature of our being. By taking a moment to stop, you allow Truth to reveal itself to you, and you can realize that you are nothing and everything simultaneously. Adyashanti invites you to stop and look deeply into the nothingness and everythingness that permeates your existence. Video Excerpted From “Seeing Nothing and Everything”(DVD 62): http://bit.ly/2pU7qFV Quotes from this Video: “It’s only when everything stops—even for a moment—that the thing we call Truth or Reality can reveal itself in all its simplicity.” “When you really see into your true nature, you will see that you are simultaneously nothing and everything.” “Every ego wants to be everything. Everybody says, ‘I want to have that oneness thing.’ Not many people say...

To me, the album version is easily the best version, but it wasn't available on Youtube. No copyright infringement intended. Let me know if you would like me to take it down.
Indie short film was created to depict my interpretation of nothingness. What nothingness in life means to me, no family, no substance; just wake, work, sleep. The notion of the futility of life. For best viewing experience watch with headphones. My visual interpretation of the song, 'Introduction; Nothingness' by Hayden Calnin. All rights reserved to this artist. http://haydencalninmusic.com
Waiting
Waiting for a notion
Movement and emotion
A simple twist of fait to light the way
Faces
All these smiling faces
They say it is contagious
But I can't see no reason to carry on
I'm sinking
Catch me when I fall
I should have walked the straight and narrow
I was careless
Nothingness
I didn't mean to hurt nobody
I'm just careless
Nothingness
Changes
We all go through changes
Act on different stages
Some will fight it
Some will tag along
Sleep now
I wish that I could sleep now
Sleep away my fear now
Sleep away the dream I'm living in
I'm sinking
Catch me when I fall
I should have walked the straight and narrow
I was careless
Nothingness
I didn't mean to hurt nobody
I'm just careless
