Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad [ˈkɑːpstɐt]; Xhosa: Ikapa) is a city in South Africa. It ranks third among the most populous urban areas in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Durban, and has roughly the same population as the Durban Metropolitan Area. It is also the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. It is the southernmost city on the African continent.
As the seat of the National Parliament it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. As of 2014, it is the 10th most populous city in Africa and home to 64% of the Western Cape's population. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates to South Africa. The city was named the World Design Capital for 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both The New York Times and The Telegraph.

One of the biggest storms Cape Town has ever experienced! On June the 7th a massive storm hit Cape Town South Africa and this was my perspective. #thecapetownstorm Thanks for watching! My instagram @jadonmoerdyk
Today Cape Town was greeted by a massive storm which delivered big swells along the coast as well as gale-force winds. Capetonians have been asked to remain indoors following a storm which has ravaged the province, damaging malls and property, fanning fires, and leading to a number of blocked roads. Travel video about destination Cape Town in South Africa. Located on the southern edge of Africa and lying at the foot of Table Mountain, the metropolis of Cape Town is certainly one of the world's most beautiful cities, an exciting combination of Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. In the park-lined Government Avenue and Queen Victoria Street, there's a wonderful collection of well-restored Victorian houses and the Anglican St. Georges Cathedral is where Archbishop Desmond Tutu protested against Apartheid. Part of the historic harbor is the Victoria And Alfred Waterfront. In 1860, Prince Alfred ordered construction of a new harbor basin, followed by the Victoria Basin that contained two watchtowers. Today, the whole of the old port is an internationally-styled entertainment and shopping c...

13 x 24min Travel Series "Take a walk on the wild side and see what lies...below" Below the Belt is the massive South African hit 13x 24min, "cheeky adult variety series" , hosted by the "world famous" Baroness Coral von Reefenhausen, the program takes an irreverent and risqué look at sex, and alternative culture in South Africa. The Baroness tackles subjects including pornography, S&M;, swinging, prostitution, traditional African sex therapies, gay nightlife and other topics 'hidden' in the underworlds of Johannesburg and beautiful Cape Town. Touring in her limo (driven by Gino, her stud driver and cohort) from nudist beaches to pick-up joints, the Baroness chats to ordinary people she encounters; both those in search of a good time as well as those that provide these services. She ask...
This is the fourth video in the series to promote responsible tourism in South Africa. From our first destination, Cape Town. He explains the history from apartheid to current day, and how tourism has helped benefit the local community. We even share a beer and watch a soccer game in a shebeen with the locals. This is the third video in the series to promote responsible tourism in South Africa. From our first destination, Cape Town. In Fall of 2009, I hunted black wildebeest in Africa in order to again "meet my meat." My wonderful guide was Chris Bolton, of Zungah Safaris, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. After the hunt, we transported the meat to a well-known Cape Town Chef, Pete Goff, of The Kitchen Cowboys. This was a very emotional experience for me and my friend, Sonja Kroop, who was shooting most of the footage. We had not anticipated the hunt nor filming, when we arrived to visit a friend in Cape Town, so the footage quality is old mini-dv, not high quality HD. Some viewers may find this to be GRAPHIC CONTENT, as it shows the killing of an animal for food.
Drying racks abound for stock fish (cod) which dry all winter - the vast majority is exported, seems that the dry fish heads are exported to Nigeria for fish head soup (this year at least otherwise ground into meal). North Cape (NordKapp 71 degrees 10' 21") - the northern most point on mainland Europe. A small town of 3,000+ people which has seven months of winter and five months for the other three seasons. So far this year it has not been above sixty degrees, today (late July) it is about forty degrees with rain and a gusting wind of about 30MPH. There is one snow blower truck for each ten miles of road since the quantity of snow is immense and will last until the beginning of May; as of the end of July remnants still remain all over the landscape. This is the fifth video in the series to promote responsible tourism in South Africa. From our first destination, Cape Town. We continue our walking tour with a local friend and tour guide (Siviwe Mbinda) for walking tour around Langa - the first black township in Cape Town. We get to see how the resourceful locals have coped with the effects of climate change in thier communities, we visit a local sheep's head restaurant, Siwive explains how the community is benefiting from the influx of tourism in the township and we witness the kids from the Happy Feet Dance Group perform their spectacular version of the Gumboot Dance! In South Africa the word ‘township’ refers to a residential area for black Africans and Coloureds that segregates them from other racial groups within a city. Along the...
A village in a distand land
Calling thier name
The spirit of the jemba drum
Guiding thier way
Into thier dreams the ship set sail
Bound for far away
In the search for the shores of her bay
Cape Town
Ohhhh, cape town
Rode the liberation wave
Away from the tide
Searching for a better day
Babies trapped to thier sound
Not knowing where the ship would sail
Faith was all they had
And they finally found thier way home
To the land of love and freedom
To the place where we belong
Truth and reconciliation
Is what's going on
It's a time for celebration
