Havana (/həˈvænə/; Spanish: La Habana, [la aˈβana]) is the capital city, largest city, province, major port, and leading commercial centre of Cuba. The city proper has a population of 2.1 million inhabitants, and it spans a total of 728.26 km2 (281.18 sq mi) – making it the largest city by area, the most populous city, and the third largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean region. The city extends mostly westward and southward from the bay, which is entered through a narrow inlet and which divides into three main harbours: Marimelena, Guanabacoa and Atarés. The sluggish Almendares River traverses the city from south to north, entering the Straits of Florida a few miles west of the bay.
The city of Havana was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century and due to its strategic location it served as a springboard for the Spanish conquest of the continent becoming a stopping point for the treasure-laden Spanish galleons on the crossing between the New World and the Old World. King Philip II of Spain granted Havana the title of City in 1592. Walls as well as forts were built to protect the old city. The sinking of the U.S. battleship Maine in Havana's harbor in 1898 was the immediate cause of the Spanish–American War.

Bryan Gary Habana (born 12 June 1983 in Benoni, Gauteng Province) is a South African rugby union player who plays as a wing for Toulon in the French Top 14 competition, as well as 2007 Rugby World Cup champions Springboks. Habana was one of the stars of the World Cup, his eight tries equalling the record set by Jonah Lomu in 1999, and was named the 2007 IRB Player of the Year.
During the 2015 Rugby World Cup he equalled Lomu's record of 15 tries, and also moved into the joint second place of all time test try scorers, with a tally of 64.
Named after former Manchester United footballers Bryan Robson and Gary Bailey, he played outside centre and scrumhalf in provincial and age group rugby, but once he was moved to the wing a vast improvement was seen. Prior to his first year of Super Rugby he was selected for the Springboks, scoring a try with his first touch of the ball in test rugby in the end-of-season match against England at Twickenham in 2004.
Habana, developed by the Golden Lions and educated at King Edward VII School and Rand Afrikaans University (now known as the University of Johannesburg), made his first senior international appearances as a member of the South African Sevens side in the 2003–04 World Sevens Series. He made his Currie Cup debut for the Lions in 2004, doing well enough to be voted the country's most promising player that year. That November, he made his Test debut against England at Twickenham as a 21-year-old. Though the game was lost 32–16, Habana came on as a reserve to score a try on debut against the then world champions. The following week Habana was moved into the starting line-up, where he contributed two tries to the 45–10 win over Scotland at Murrayfield. The next week, he was selected in the same position, on the left wing, in that year's final match against Argentina in Buenos Aires. Although he did not score any tries in the Argentina game, his record then stood at three tries from three tests.
Fifth Harmony is an American girl group formed on the second season of the The X Factor USA in July 2012. The group consists of members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui. They signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records, L.A. Reid's record label, after finishing in third place on the show. Since then, they have released an EP and a full-length album.
Following their exit from The X Factor, they released their debut single "Miss Movin' On". Their debut EP, Better Together was released in 2013 with a first week position of number six on the U.S. Billboard 200. The following year, they won the Artist to Watch award at the MTV Video Music Awards. The group released their debut studio album, Reflection in February 2015. It debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, selling 62,000 copies in the first week and was supported by the group's first major headlining tour, The Reflection Tour. The album included the singles "BO$$", "Sledgehammer" and the U.S. triple platinum "Worth It". The latter also became the group's first top 20 single on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached the top 10 in eight countries. Fifth Harmony has emerged as the most successful alumni from the X Factor U.S. franchise.

Travel video about destination la Habana in Cuba. La Habana, capital of Cuba, the Caribbean metropolis that for many decades has been so little loved and so badly neglected, with breathtakingly restored beauty alongside unbelievable ruins - the queen of the Antilles in a country that lies between sun and socialism, between Rumba and Revolution! As early as 1553, the Spanish Conquistadors chose Havana's harbour as a rendezvous for ships that traded gold and silver in its colonies and, to protect this 'Gateway To The New World' from attack by looters, several forts were built, the oldest of which being the Castello El Morro whose construction took more than two decades. As standards of living progressed, pirates and buccaneers came here and repeatedly destroyed parts of the growing town but ...

It’s only 93 miles from Florida, and just 13 from the Bahamas, but like the smoke that coils from its legendary cigars, The Republic of Cuba exists in a time and space all its own. Few cities can stir the imagination like Cuba’s capital, Havana, a city preserved by forts, a five-mile seawall, and an imposed embargo, which held back the excesses of the 20th century for over 50 years. Havana’s lure can be hard to resist, but Cuba offers so much more beyond the seductive lights of its capital. In Cuba, a long sandy beach is never far away. Just 12 miles from Havana’s downtown, the Eastern Beaches unroll toward the town of Matanzas, the birthplace of the rumba, and Cárdenas, where the Cuban Flag flew for the very first time. From here, follow the scent of fresh lime, rum and suntan lot...

For our first day in Havana we booked a solo walking tour. The tour guide took us from the Hotel Inglaterra and Capitolio Nacional to the area known as Old havana. Here we visited the bars and places frequented by ernest Hemingway. We were told the stories and history of Havana and of Cuba in general as we walked the streets and soaked up the atmosphere. On December 12th 2014 we began our one week long journey to the land of Cuba. Witnessing history in Havana, walking through remnants of a once vibrant city and talking to the people who have suffered the most, this trip is one I will never forget. Here is just a glimpse into what we saw during our brief time in this changing country. Here are some descriptions of the people featured: 03:09 - This man was the grounds keeper of a cemetery near Matanzas. He showed us the grave of an eight year old boy who was killed by thieves when he tried to protect his mother and grandmother. 03:14 - This woman saw us walking down the street and offered to show us to the small theatre across the street. 03:20 - This woman, Diana (with her husband Jorge, in the background) offered to walk us all the way t...

Follow us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cuba-Absolutely/117958641550184 Havana would not be Havana without its American vintage cars that incessantly roam the streets of the city, most of them as taxis. These cars do not only move in space but also in time, stranded in the course of time with no fixed stop between one era and another. Cubans move from one end of the city to the other in these “time machines.” Getting into one of these “máquinas” or “almendrones,” as they are popularly known, is pure time travel into the past. I believe I should pause here and explain a bit how these taxis work. They travel a set route alo...

Y me pusé a bailar
Encontré una chica
Llamada Libertad
Una chica mui estraña
Com pelos a cortar
Un quepe de campanã
Y "jaruto" a fumar
Me quedé estarecido
E puse a reparar
Que la criolla Libertad
Era o “jefe” a bailar
Habana, Habana, habana que estoy caliente
Habana, Habana, habana mi Libertad
Una muchacha mui estraña
Com los pelos a cortar
Y un viejo quepe de campanã
Y un "jaruto" a fumar
El capitán se me acercó
Y me puse en paredón
Y despacito me ordenó
“ Baila comigo corazón”
Yo no puedo bailar
Por que soy de Cochabamba
Ya estaba de partida… ehhh
Y viva la revolución!!
Habana, Habana, habana que estoy caliente
Habana, Habana, habana mi Libertad
Habana, Habana, habana que estoy caliente
Habana, Habana, habana mi General
El capitán se me acercó
Y me puse en paredón
Y despacito me ordenó
“Baila comigo maricón”
Habana, Habana, habana que estoy caliente
Habana, Habana, habana mi General
Habana, Habana, habana que estoy caliente
Habana, Habana, habana en otro lugar
