Belmont may refer to:
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

LYRICS: Step aside, I'm losing patience with the way you waste your life, and now I'm ripping at the seams you stitched too tight. Recycling old habits won't clean the dirt that you left behind. Quietly, I'm moving on. Stagger back; don't break my fall. I know my place, and it's not far from the bed you make. Selfish decay rots away at the foundation that we tried to lay. With all feelings aside I needed distance space and time. Overworked with thoughts of my fleeting willingness to try. A tethered weight strapped down to the bottom of my feet just to hold me in place: I felt you lean on me for song long and I can't believe that you think I'm still your property. Quick pick, tight grip, I'm running in circle...

Quit twisting the strings that you stitched in my back. Take off your shoes while you roam in my head Selfish enough to leave a mess instead. You’re wasting, your time here. My mind's made, don’t intrude on my space. I’m pulling all my teeth, To try and feel something. Pace the floor again Thinking back to when we began. I’m just not ready I’m just not ready, to go With nothing to show Break the knot we tied strong. All the time we spent wrong. Always speaking with tongue, in cheek. My interest in you’s bleak. You’re wasting, your time here. My mind's made, don’t intrude on my spac...

It doesn't help much that I'm stuck guilty and afraid. Expecting too much but lacking the guts to say what you needed me to say. "Minuscule" from Belmont's EP "Between You & Me" CD: http://www.victorymerch.com/store/belmont iTunes: http://goo.gl/wbDX4d Lyrics: Push you away, I found it's the better way. Of taking back all the space that your presence wastes. Count on me, to bite back with sharper teeth I'm breaking skin just to surface what's underneath. (I’m glad) I’m glad you noted, that you go unnoticed. I’m giving up and I’m losing touch. Unaware of my own despair (I always hide it) Quick tongue but it speaks so truthfully You can never listen unless it is selfishly I'll keep my distance, ruined persistence. Quick tongue but it speaks so truthfully You can never listen unless it is selfishly Go waste your own time, and give me back mine. Push me so far away And leave me standing in place Push me so far away And...

LYRICS And I wish that I can speak what’s on my mind But I’m better at opening old wounds And I’m running out of patience in my life to figure out what went wrong when you went away And I’m breaking down my walls for once to take a look inside of where I chose to hide And I’m shutting down inside, again to act like I’m better off Breaking all my promises What’s the point of changing colors When the image stays the same I swear I’d lie to make you happy But I’m so drained of my dishonesty It’s not you or me We found comfort in the air but just need more room...
