Bruce Clifford Gilbert (born 18 May 1946) is an English musician. One of the founding members of the influential and experimental art-punk band Wire, Gilbert branched out into electronic music, performance art, music production, and DJing during the band's extended periods of inactivity. Gilbert left Wire in 2004 and has since been focusing on solo work and collaborations with visual artists and fellow experimental musicians.
Gilbert studied graphic design at De Montfort University until 1971 when he became an abstract painter, taking on part-time jobs to help support himself. In 1975 he was hired as an audio-visual aids technician and slide-photography librarian at Watford College of Art and Design. Borrowing oscillators from the Science department, Gilbert started experimenting with tape loops and delays at the recording studio set up by his predecessor. Together with Colin Newman and Angela Conway, who were students at Watford at the time, Gilbert formed a short-lived group called Overload. In the summer of 1976, Newman and Gilbert were joined by Graham Lewis and Robert Gotobed and started practising and performing as Wire.

The Scots-English language name Bruce arrived in Scotland with the Normans, from the place name Brix of the Manche département in Normandy, France, meaning "the willowlands". Initially promulgated via the descendants of King Robert I of Scotland (Robert the Bruce) (1274-1329), it has been a Scottish surname since medieval times; it is now a common given name.
The variant Lebrix and Le Brix are French variations of the surname.
Patty Loveless is the self-titled debut album from country music artist Patty Loveless. It was released in 1986. Among its tracks were Billboard Top Country Singles minor hits, "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights," "I Did," "After All," and "Wicked Ways." The album peaked at #35 on the Top Country Albums charts in 1986.
"Lonely Days, Lonely Nights", was the first single from the album, recorded at MCA/Nashville in the fall of 1985. It was one of a five-song singles record contract she had at the time with the label, prior to her receiving an album contract.

Bruce Gilbert - This Way CD 2009 (eMego102) This Way, originally released in 1984 on Mute (STUMM 18), was Bruce Gilbert's first solo album being realised in that brief period between Dome winding down operations and Wire reforming for first time. A stunning study of controlled ambience and subtle minimalism, which is still regarded as an all time favourite to us here at Editions Mego. The bulk of the album is taken up by the mighty Do You Me? I Did / Swamp pieces which were commissioned for piece of the same name by choreographer Michael Clark. Pastor Bruce Gilbert preaches on trusting in God when you don't know exactly how the situation and circumstances you are going through are going to end. When we read the Bible. We are privileged to know how the Bible stories are going to end. We know the end of the story. However, those that were going through it at the time didn't! He shares from four different Bible stories where God came through. If He did it then, He will do it now!

The big screen and television never tire of recycling the plot of the classic French film, Le Diabolique. This is the second (at least) TV movie based on the Diabolique plot, the other that I know of being Reflections of Murder with Tuesday Weld and Joan Hackett from some years ago. Diabolique was remade as a feature film with Sharon Stone and the gorgeous Isabelle Adjani in the early '90s. In this version, the school has been changed to a medical clinic and there's some voodoo thrown in for good measure. If you haven't seen any of the other movies, you will find the story intriguing. If you have, you may still find it interesting. After all, this is one of the classic stories of all time. But see the original, which stars Simone Signoret. I saw a rotten print of it and loved it anyway. ...

Pastor Bruce Gilbert preaches on trusting in God when you don't know exactly how the situation and circumstances you are going through are going to end. When we read the Bible.
