Buenos Aires (/ˈbweɪnəs ˈɛəriːz/ or /ˈaɪrɪs/,Spanish: [ˈbwenos ˈaiɾes]) is the capital and largest city of Argentina, and the second-largest metropolitan area in South America. It is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, on the continent's southeastern coast. The Greater Buenos Aires conurbation, which also includes several Buenos Aires Province districts, constitutes the third-largest conurbation in Latin America, with a population of around fifteen and a half million.
The city of Buenos Aires is neither part of Buenos Aires Province nor the Province's capital; rather, it is an autonomous district. In 1880, after decades of political infighting, Buenos Aires was federalized and removed from Buenos Aires Province. The city limits were enlarged to include the towns of Belgrano and Flores; both are now neighborhoods of the city. The 1994 constitutional amendment granted the city autonomy, hence its formal name: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires). Its citizens first elected a chief of government (i.e. mayor) in 1996; before, the mayor was directly appointed by the President of the Republic.
LAN Colombia, previously Aerovías de Integración Regional S.A. (Acronym: AIRES, lit. airs), is a Colombian airline. It is the second largest air carrier in Colombia.
The airline operates scheduled regional domestic and international services, as well as a domestic cargo service. Its main base is El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá.
On October 28, 2010, it was announced that 98% of the shares in the previous airline AIRES had been acquired by Chilean carrier LAN Airlines. On December 3, 2011, it started operations as LAN Colombia. It became an affiliate member of the Oneworld alliance on 1 October 2013.
The airline operates 23 destinations in Colombia and to Brazil and the United States internationally. On December 19, 2008 under the 44th session of the GEPA (Group Aeronautical Project Evaluator) is authorized 224 new frequencies nationwide. Likewise, the Department of Transportation approved on March 25, 2009 at the airline's flights from Barranquilla, Bogota and Cartagena to New York and Fort Lauderdale. On July 24, 2010 indefinitely suspended its operations in Venezuela given the continuing low traffic and strained relations with that country.

The Plaza de Mayo (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈplasa ðe ˈmaʝo]; English: May Square) is the main square in the Monserrat barrio of central Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is flanked by Hipólito Yrigoyen, Balcarce, Rivadavia and Bolívar streets.
Since being the scene of the 25 May 1810 revolution that led to independence, the plaza has been a hub of political life in Argentina.
The modern plaza took form in 1884 when the colonnade separating the Plaza de la Victoria and the Plaza del Fuerte was demolished. Its origins, however, can be traced back to Juan de Garay's foundation of Buenos Aires itself, in 1580.
Newly arrived to the dusty riverbank settlement, Jesuit clergymen in 1608 secured a title to much of the 2 hectares (4.9 acres) lot, on which Garay's earlier plans for a central plaza had been abandoned. In 1661, the local governor purchased the eastern half for inclusion into the grounds of the city's new fort; this section soon became the Plaza de Armas

New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. Travel video about destination Buenos Aires in Argentina. Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, is said to be the most European city in South America with buildings that are reminiscent of bygone times, with melancholy, romance and Latin flair is a part of daily life as well as a passion for steak, tango and football! The mighty Plaza de Mayo is the historic heart of the city and the pink façade of the Casa Rosada shines brightly, the Presidential palace from where Domingo Perón and his wife, Evita, once waved to their loyal subjects. The La Boca district is the old harbor area and lies at the mouth of the Riachuelo in the Rio de la Plata. The bright colors of the painted buildings are a joy to see and where today, dances are performed on every street corner. Everywhere traders have erec...

Argentina is one of the jewels in the Latin American crown. A vast country stretching 3,500 kilometres from the Bolivian border in the north to Ushuaia and the gateway to Antarctica in the south, it is a place that offers some of the most impressive natural wonders anywhere on earth. It has a world-class tourist infrastructure, with arguably the best cuisine on the continent, and it is safe. But its not just that that makes a trip to Argentina feel so special. The country simply has a redoubtable spirit unlike any other in the region, and nowhere is that more evident than in its lively capital, Buenos Aires. If Argentina is one of the jewels in the Latin American crown, so the cosmopolitan Buenos Aires is one of the standout cities of the continent. Many gateway cities are just that, and...

Argentina, the last country in my 6 months long trip to South America, we have finally come to an end. Argentina is one of the biggest country in South America and it would take more than a month to see them all. This is what a month of traveling looks like in Argentina. Buenos Aires was a great vibrant city! Bariloche is definitely the Switzerland of Argentina! Patagonia? Love everything about it, especially El Chalten and seeing Fitz Roy has always been my life goals. Ushuaia is cold but beautiful. To think that I was so near to Antarctica, and yet only 5000 USD away from going there. Maybe next time! Last but not least Iguazu Falls. There's waterfalls and then there's Iguazu Falls. Damn, this place blows my mind. I thought I have seen enough waterfalls in my life time but Iguazu was s...
During my trip to South America in November, 2007, my first stop was in Argentina. In this video I visit the hip, young neighborhood of Soho Palermo, explore amazing Recolata Cemetary (where Eva Peron is buried), and stroll along Florida Avenue, the hub of Buenos Aires.
In part two I check out the famed Buenos Aires nightlife, visit the giant San Telmo Fair where tens of thousands of people converge every Sunday, and travel out of the city and through the Pampas to the small gaucho town of San Antonio de Areco.

“Travel is nothing without coming home and telling stories. You know the stories, the kind that are horrible at the time, but hilarious when you look back on them. We managed to gather a few on this voyage to South America, but like they say, whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. Although, I think the stress nearly killed our good friend and guide Diego Casal, or at the very least, decreased his life span significantly. I should say now, the only reason we came out alive is because of him. He took on the near impossible task of being our tour guide for a month. I don’t think even he knew how hard it was going to be. Nevertheless Diego was driver, translator, historian and counsellor for us, and he did a damn good job. Like every good tour, it came together on a whim. Self-pr...
Left JFK at 10PM on Friday. Arrived at Buenos Aires at 10:30AM on Saturday -temp is about 75-80 degrees - no wind. Took an hour to connect with the driver and guide (we called him Mr. Green Pants as his pants were lime green) when we arrived who then took us to the domestic airport – about one hour away. Flight to El Calafate left at 3:30, arrived at 6:30PM - temperature is about a balmy 70 degrees. A driver met us and took us 150 miles (2 1/2 hrs.) to Don Los Cerros del Chalten hotel at El Chalten - arrived at 9:45PM -temperature about 50 degrees with a stiff 20-25 MPH wind. Washed, had quick dinner with complimentary wine at the hotel. Turned in at 11PM – a long 24 hours of travel.

** Please read this comment: https://vimeo.com/122515337#comment_13088639 ** IMPORTANT NOTE: This video is not trying to deliver any political ideologies. Characters like Ernesto Guevara, Eva Perón or Jorge Videla are part of Argentina's history and by introducing them I don't mean to judge anything. I'm fully aware of controversies and don't want to be a part of dispute. ** The third part of our travel - 5 months in the midst of the vast land of Argentina. It's not easy to plan your journey when you cycle trough the country that is 3,650 km long and has more than 1,400 km at its widest point. In the beginning we had a strong feeling that because of our 'limits' we're missing a lot. Then a moment came when we realized that it wasn't about places you visited, but people, smells, tastes ...

Buenos Aires is the capital and most populous city of Argentina. The city is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, on the South American continent's southeastern coast. "Buenos aires" can be translated as "fair winds" or "good airs", but the first one was the meaning intended by the founders in the 16th century, by the use of the original name "Real de Nuestra Señora Santa María del Buen Ayre". The Greater Buenos Aires conurbation, which also includes several Buenos Aires Province districts, constitutes the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the Americas, with a population of around 17 million.

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Walking from Obelisk to Casa Rosada Oct 2016 I started walking not far from Teatro Colon, near the Obelisk, then I walked to Casa Rosada. It was a Sunday, and the next day was also a holiday. So, there are not many cars and a lot of people walking around. The street that I started on is the widest street in the whole world. Camera: DJI Osmo and DJI Microphone

What's new Buenos Aires?
I'm new, I wanna say I'm just a little stuck on you
You'll be on me too
I get out here, Buenos Aires
Stand back, you oughta know whatcha gonna get in me
Just a little touch of star quality
Fill me up with your heat, with your noise
With your dirt, overdo me
Let me dance to your beat, make it loud
Let it hurt, run it through me.
Don't hold back, you are certain to impress
Tell the driver this is where I'm staying
Hello, Buenos Aires
Get this, just look at me dressed up, somewhere to go
We'll put on a show
Take me in at your flood, give me speed
Give me lights, set me humming
Shoot me up with your blood, wine me up
With your nights, watch me coming
All I want is a whole lot of excess
Tell the singer this is where I'm playing
Stand back, Buenos Aires
Because you oughta know whatcha gonna get in me
Just a little touch of star quality
And if ever I go too far
It's because of the things you are
Beautiful town, I love you
And if I need a moment's rest
Give your lover the very best
Real eiderdown and silence.
[musical interlude]
You're a tramp, you're a treat
You will shine to the death, you are shoddy
But you're flesh, you are meat
You shall have every breath in my body
Put me down for a lifetime of success
Give me credit, I'll find ways of paying
Rio de la Plata
Florida, Corrientes, Nueve de Julio
All I want to know
Stand back, Buenos Aires
Because you oughta know whatcha gonna get in me
Just a little touch of
Just a little touch of
Just a little touch of star quality
