KUKA is a German manufacturer of industrial robots and solutions for factory automation. The KUKA Robotics Corporation has 25 subsidiaries worldwide, mostly sales and service subsidiaries, including in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, Russia and most European countries. The company name, KUKA, is an acronym for Keller und Knappich Augsburg.
The company was founded in 1898 in Augsburg, Germany, by Johann Josef Keller and Jacob Knappich. At first, the company focused on house and street lights, but soon expanded to other products (welding equipment and solutions; big containers), to become the market leader in communal vehicles in Europe by 1966. Keller & Knappich GmbH merged with part of Industrie-Werke Karlsruhe AG to become Industrie-Werke Karlsruhe Augsburg Aktiengesellschaft, eventually KUKA for short.
In 1973, KUKA created its own industrial robot FAMULUS. At this time, the company belonged to the Quandt group. However, in 1980, the Quandt family withdrew and a publicly owned firm was established. In 1995, the company was split into KUKA Robotics Corporation and KUKA Schweißanlagen (now KUKA Systems), now both subsidiaries of KUKA AG. The company is a member of the Robotics Industries Association (RIA), of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) and of the German engineering association VDMA. Today, KUKA concentrates on solutions for the automation of industrial manufacturing processes.

The facilities are set up to provide demonstrations in key industries, as well as provide a platform for customers to test and optimize their applications in real life before they disrupt their own factory floors with installation. The Tech Centers are another step in KUKA's push to get closer to our partners and closely collaborate with them to solve their production challenges as well as help them implement new and innovative technology in the most efficient and quickest way possible. In this video we walk you through the Spot Welding Tech Center at our HQ in Augsburg, Germany.

At the recent SXSW 2017 KUKA showed of a robot that can successfully complete the bottle flipping challenge with 90-95% accuracy. But it's not just a fun demo, it's a test bed for machine learning and optimization of complex processes harnessing large sets of data to help a robot get better at something by itself.
KUKA is a strong supporter of the annual RoboCup competition. In its 2016 edition in Leipzig, Germany, the first major competitions of the European Robotics League took place. It's both fun and challenging for young engineers, programmers and scientists to test their ideas - and it provides a great connection between industry and academia.

Lightweight materials and vehicle components reduce energy consumption and thus lower CO2 emissions. Both automotive manufacturers and suppliers alike are constantly developing new technologies in the field of lightweight construction. Carbon composites are considered to be the most technically developed alternative. Compositence GmbH, based in the Swabian town of Leonberg, Germany, has developed a process for the production of carbon composites that not only dispenses with the need for the customary manufacture of semi-finished products, but also reduce...
KUKA regularly hosts the Innovation Award to serve both industry and academia, joining the two to help tackle some of the industry's most challenging applications in robotic automation. For 2016, KUKA had dozens of entries from institutions around the world, resulting in six finalists. Each of the finalists tackles problems in creating flexible, easy-to-program, collaborative robotic automation solutions. All six of them were worthy entries. Come along and see how it all unfolded, and, importantly, why KUKA continues to host the awards year after year.

In today’s manufacturing market, demand is driven by the production of high quality products. Rotherham based ZND are a prime example of how, by adopting automated robotics into their operation, they have gained market share. As we approach festival season, ZND’s operations are at full pace, producing steel barriers used at events such as Glastonbury for crowd management. Since implementing two KUKA welding cells into their existing application, ZND have seen product throughput increase by 400%, a staggering increase, which has not only driven product demand but increased the manpower required to support their operations. We are sure you’ll agree, they have a unique offering. Subscribe to our channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/MTDCNC?sub_confirmation=1 We have another Channel spec...

Heading back to Finland - and specifically Helsinki - was our greatest surprise this summer. As the capital city, it has the attractions any big city offers, yet it somehow retains plenty of small town charm. One of the main reasons is that you're never far from nature. Hop on a bicycle or kayak and you within a few kilometers you'll feel as though you're all alone at one with nature. Asi lo vivi by G4Eramos amigos nada mas
tu enamorado de alguien mas
y yo tan solo consejera de algo inusual
no esperaba imaginar tanto
no esperaba descubrir
Pero al final así lo viví
pero entendí mejor
Cada dia cada momento era especial
lo entendi mejor que los demas
no esperaba presentir pensé que
estaba mal sentir que al final
regresar de nuevo no quiero expresar
ah ah ah ah
Hubo momentos que quise llorar
y me aguante asi de mas
las lagrimas en tus mejillas
era de una niña
que le arranco ah la soledad
Pero al final así lo viví
pero entendí mejor
Cada dia cada momento era especial
lo entendi mejor que los demas
no esperaba presentir pensé que
estaba mal sentir que al final
regresar de nuevo no quiero expresar
