A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie.
Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area.
Music: "Main Titles" and "Blush Response" from Vangelis' haunting score. It still sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it... my favorite soundtrack to this day. The new 3-cd remaster is well worth getting: itunes.apple.com/us/album/blade-runner-trilogy-music/id274024314

Android (operating system)
Android (from its former owner Android, Inc.) is a mobile operating system (OS) currently developed by Google, based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android's user interface is mainly based on direct manipulation, using touch gestures that loosely correspond to real-world actions, such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects, along with a virtual keyboard for text input. In addition to touchscreen devices, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Android Wear for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on notebooks, game consoles, digital cameras, and other electronics.
Since 2013, Android is the best selling on tablets; and on smartphones the OS is dominant, thereby giving it the largest installed base of all operating systems of any kind.
Initially developed by Android, Inc., which Google bought in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007, along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance – a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices.As of July 2013, the Google Play store has had over one million Android applications ("apps") published, and over 50 billion applications downloaded. An April–May 2013 survey of mobile application developers found that 71% of developers create applications for Android, and a 2015 survey found that 40% of full-time professional developers see Android as their priority target platform, which is comparable to Apple's iOS on 37% with both platforms far above others. At Google I/O 2014, the company revealed that there were over one billion active monthly Android users, up from 538 million in June 2013.

Record chart
A record chart is a ranking of recorded music according to popularity during a given period of time. Examples of music charts are the Hit parade, the Billboard Hot 100 or Top 40.
Many different criteria are used in different charts, including sales of records, cassettes and compact discs, the amount of radio airplay, and since the introduction of digital technology, the number of downloads and the amount of streaming activity.
Some charts are specific to a particular musical genre and most to a particular geographical location (although download charts are not easily pinned down in this way). The most common period of time covered by a chart is one week with the chart being printed or broadcast at the end of this time. Summary charts for years and decades are then calculated from their component weekly charts. Component charts have become an increasingly important way to measure the commercial success of individual songs.

A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie. Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area. Plot: In 1964, a team of scientists are trying to develop a view screen into the future. A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie. Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area. Music: "Main Titles" and "Blush Response" from Vangelis' haunting score. It still sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it... my favorite soundtrack to this day. A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie.
Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area.
Music: "Main Titles" and "Blush Response" from Vangelis' haunting score. It still sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it... my favorite soundtrack to this day. The new 3-cd remaster is well worth getting: itunes.apple.com/us/album/blade-runner-trilogy-music/id274024314

A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie. Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area. Music: "Main Titles" and "Blush Response" from Vangelis' haunting score. It still sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it... my favorite soundtrack to this day. A tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis, whose atmospheric work on Blade Runner has been a huge source of inspiration in my shooting time lapses, as well as for entire generations of filmmakers. I hope this will make many of you want to revisit (or discover if you haven't yet) this genre-defining movie.
Shot roughly over a year in Tokyo with a Canon 5dmk2, mainly in the Shinjuku area.
Music: "Main Titles" and "Blush Response" from Vangelis' haunting score. It still sends chills down my spine every time I listen to it... my favorite soundtrack to this day. The new 3-cd remaster is well worth getting: itunes.apple.com/us/album/blade-runner-trilogy-music/id274024314

First Android tutorial! This uses Android Studio, the now official method of building Android apps, and walks through every detail step-by-step to get a basic application working. The functions of the end app are extremely basic, but hopefully this will help out anyone who wants to get over the hump and get some of their own code running on an Android device. Exciting stuff! Based on preliminary heliospheric modeling carried out at NASA GSFC Space Weather Center, it is estimated that the CME may impact Earth, Messenger, Spitzer, MSL, Mars. Simulations indicate that the leading edge of the CME will reach Earth at about 2012-07-14T10:20Z (plus minus 7 hours). The roughly estimated expected range of the geomagnetic storm Kp index is 6-8 (moderate to severe). First Android tutorial! This uses Android Studio, the now official method of building Android apps, and walks through every detail step-by-step to get a basic application working. Based on preliminary heliospheric modeling carried out at NASA GSFC Space Weather Center, it is estimated that the CME may impact Earth, Messenger, Spitzer, MSL, Mars. Simulations indicate that the leading edge of the CME will reach Earth at about 2012-07-14T10:20Z (plus minus 7 hours). The roughly estimated expected range of the geomagnetic storm Kp index is 6-8 (moderate to severe). Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events were detected at SOHO, GOES, and STERO B starting on July 12, 2012 17:50 UT) due to this flare and associated CME. Updates will be provided when available.

A cut of the film only eight hours long, then one running to four hours, appeared. Finally the studio itself cut the film to around two hours, resulting in a finished product that was entirely incoherent. Since that time, few directors have been foolish enough to put everything in a novel into a film."
ReAdaptation: the book series is an ongoing work, evolving chapter by chapter. Intrigued by Erich von Stroheim’s quandary, I investigate the process of adapting one form to another by reinterpreting popular narratives through a process of elision and (re)animation. In an attempt to understand how a novel is transformed from written word to an audio/visual cinematic event, I readapted movies that had already been adapted from books. I omit and compress the narrative by using the book itself as the guide to the length of the new hybrid movie. The two forms are in constant dialogue: the number of pages in the book determines the video duration while the cinematic image conceals the text. With these specific constraints I create a mutated hybrid form of popular culture, giving birth to a creation that dwells amongst the robot, android, and misunderstood creature.

A cut of the film only eight hours long, then one running to four hours, appeared. Finally the studio itself cut the film to around two hours, resulting in a finished product that was entirely incoherent. Since that time, few directors have been foolish enough to put everything in a novel into a film."
ReAdaptation: the book series is an ongoing work, evolving chapter by chapter. Intrigued by Erich von Stroheim’s quandary, I investigate the process of adapting one form to another by reinterpreting popular narratives through a process of elision and (re)animation. The wave injured dozens and killed four people from the 84-person small fishing village, the report said ...
